Definate Promotion

13 wins and we will definately get auto promotion, especially in this league where n0-one is really racing away with it. 90 plus will win you the league but i think 84 85 points will be enough for 2nd this year!

    Leicester match report on www.dh6.co.uk

Cheers for the report Hucks, still find it surreal that my favourite ever Norwich player posts on this site, anyhow. .I agree with most of your report, I thought that Crofts and Hoolahan were both outstanding tonight, although I feel that Hoolahan edged it because not only did he have a hand in every goal, but because he always wants the ball. That is something you don''t see with many players, especially when the atmosphere was as nervy as it was tonight. Even when the team/he is having a bad game, he always looks for the ball and never hides in a game and I really admire him as a player for that. Crofts was a close second tonight, not only is his ability to read the game and make tackles crucial for us defensively, but it''s great news that he is getting some goals for us too. A couple of things I wanted to ask a professional. First one was, as a striker, do you think that Jackson should have been making more runs into the channels tonight in order to look for the ball? I don''t think his touch is good enough to pull off the defenders and show for the ball and look to receive it there in the hole, and his game is suited to running onto the ball, in my opinion. I felt for him as the ball was, fairly frequently being lumped to him, but should he be working harder as a striker?Second, what do you think of Ruddy so far? It''s the occasional shocker that worries me to be honest. He seems to make some awesome saves but I hope he can eradicate that side from his game. I know Lambert will stick with him not to knock his confidence (and rightly so I think for the moment), but, as you said in your report, errors like tonight can cost us against teams that have a better defense that Leicester. Cheers

Sorry, we don''t do "players past their best looking for a final, easy payday" any more!

why would he come to us anyway?!??!

what are people thinking?! He''s obviously not going to come to Norwich, he''s a top ten Prem player!!

why do people keep banging on about Whitbread?! FFS!!! Doc is proven at Championship level. Whitbread has just been a skinny mess for us so far. And also comments questioning the Docs distribution skills are laughable. He is good at passing, it baffles me why people cannot see this.
I think the decision to release the Doc is an absolute disgrace. An absolute disgrace. He''s came 3rd in our POTS vote for christs sake!! In a promotion winning season. I really am fuming. He is one of the first names on the team sheet for next season, along with Holt. He''s our best central defender FFS!I remember his first game away at Man Utd when he came on as a sub, and caused havoc in the air for the last 20 mins and then scored a few days later away at Newcastle. He has been a legend in my eyes ever since. His commitment to the club, his desire, his determination to the club, his mental strength is second to no-one. People were laughing earlier in the season when it looked like he was being let go, and he showed every single one of you who was laughing up as a complete mug by being our best defender this season. For me, as my favourite player, this decision is worse than Huckerby being released. A truly sad day for NCFC. Such a shame after yesterdays celebrations. There''s only one Gary Doherty.

    Get a grip!

You seriously need help from some of those statements, caused havoc in the air against Man Who & Legend!?

    Onwards & upwards!
Your a moron. Did you watch the Man U away game? Stop making such glib, ignorant comments and think before you post. He IS a Norwich legend.
Worse then Hucks ??? Are you sure about that ! Yeh he has had a good season but he''s proven to come up a bit short in the championship. Heard good things about Whitbread so i hope Lamberts going to sign someone to partner him at the back because im not convinced Nelson & Askou are going to cut it at championship level ! Hoping for Caldwell or DeMerit etc !!!
Yes I am sure. What are you talking about?! How could he not cut it in the Championship? He''s proven there. He played in the Premier League and defended well, and scored goals for us. Many clubs will absolutely want to snap him up. I honestly feel totally dejected.

Do we really need a new thread whenever a player gets released or is available?

    It''s May 5th and it''s tedious already.

Nothing wrong with speculation & rumour, but let''s just let Lambert do his job instead of suggesting every over the hill non-contracted player as a potential signing.

That''s the point of a forum isn''t it?!

    Celebrating Promotion

I just have to post this.

This is especially relevant to all the fans who don''t want to celebrate the promotion.

I find it unbelieveable that some fans wouldn''t want a civic reception/open-top bus/celebration of our promotion. First things first, I want to point out that I understand the rationale behind the opposition to celebrate: we are a massive club, we have an amazing set of fans that fill out CR each week, we have great facilities and we have a great history; thus, we shouldn''t celebrate promotion from a league we shouldn''t be in.

Anyway, onto my point. First things first, lets look at the start of the season. We lost 7-1. At home. It was our worst defeat in history. I don''t think anyone could deny that promotion didn''t look an option at that time. Especially when you consider Bryan Gunn was manager, who was clearly incompetant. I still love Gunny, but he was a shocking manager. We got 1 point from our first 3 games, playing Colchester, Exeter and Brentford (none of which are top 6 teams). That''s relegation form at this point. The turnaround has been incredible. This is the first reason I find it baffling not to want to celebrate promotion.

Secondly, and perhaps most importantly, no one, NO ONE, has the devine right to be promoted from any league. Paul Lambert acknowledges that, and that''s one of the reasons why he has done so well for us as manager. He was logical about our situation; we are a League One side, we have to EARN THE RIGHT (I have heard him say this so many times) to get promotion. It means going to poor teams with awful pitches, and putting in 100% effort and determination and desire to go and get a result. You won''t beat someone because you came 3rd in the Premiership once.

Look at Leeds. They have a massive history, they are a giant club, yet they have been in League One for three seasons. Their fans would give anything to get out of this league (they may do this season), so why wouldn''t anyone want to celebrate the promotion?! Look at Southampton, Charlton etc, they could have long stays in League One if they don''t get it right. Have a look at Bradford. They were in the Premiership in the not so distant past. Look at Luton. They were in the Championship not so long ago, they''re not even in League Two (again they may get promoted this year, who knows).

I just want fans to acknowledge the achievement. Getting promoted from any league is extremely tough, and no-one has the right to walk the league. The players have worked so so hard for this, and I think that Paul Lambert instilled this desire into them, and made them aware that they were in League One for a reason; and that''s why he''s a top manager.

And to do it as Champions?! I assure you I will be elated if we are on/over 90 points come 5pm Saturday. Come on true City fans, let''s celebrate the fact that we are out of this league!
