  1. If Dion is appointed, and  ifhe does bad it will mean his last season of playing will not be in good spirit as a player. Do we really want to see that happen to him? I dont.   Duffy no. just no.
  2. Simon Lappin rarely misplaces a pass, hes the best passer at the club
  3. PLEASE MARTIN ALLEN PLEASE MARTIN ALLEN!!!!!!!!! No idea why I seem to have taken the side of him but MARTIN ALLEN MARTIN ALLEN!!!!! or Tony Pulis I suppose
  4. It was about Striker Dave, in playing style it said ''much like a poor Dimitar Berbatov''. Lol for that!
  5. I dont like club foot, most of the singing sounds like someones dropped ice cubes down his back and he doesnt particularly appreciate it. There are SO many better songs out there- how about All Fired Up by Pat Benatar? http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=koeN2YVVMwY
  6. Perhaps this is a dastardly plan- Hartsons come in so we now have something other to complain about instead of the board. Or maybe its a different agenda, like they''ve realised we''ll never sell Brown so Hartson has come in to make Brown look a little better to Accrington.
  7. These ''aimless balls'' were kicked into the middle of nowhere between their defence and just outside the zone the keepers are willing to come for it. And when was this done? When we were under pressure and needed a chance to get the defence up. Dohertys kicks often arent for this reason, usually when not under pressure and trying to play a 60yd crossfield pass that isnt needed. Thats the difference. The ''clumsy manhandling oaf'' tag comes from the fact that almost every one of the penalties he gives away (which is the majority) are basically for the same bad challenge. Murray had every right to go for that ball against QPR and it could have gone both ways. Can you honestly say Doherty was doing anything right with his challenge on McLeod at Charlton?
  8. So we signed John Hartson. ''hm?'' the general City fan contingent say. Then some clever chap points out ''how can we have signed him without a manager?''. Good point. This means we have a) already got a new manager and he has picked Hartson out and they havent told us yet b) decided that the job is bound for Duffy, this is his first signing and     they havent told us yet c) have just let Duffy get a striker in I am praying that it is C, but I am beginning to dread that its going to be B. It was never going to be A, I was just trying my Neil Doncaster impression out. However, should the Board decide that this should be the case, that will that deadly final nail. Grant, fine he didnt work and it was wrong to appoint a rookie. It will be worse to appoint Duffy, it represents the biggest negative move ever! Its the easy, cheap, quickfix option that will absolutely kill the Board once and for all. Especially after being linked with good managers for once, but they never seem to make it here do they. I dont like the thought of how it must feel having 20,000+ people shouting at you every other saturday, but if they appoint Duffy as manager I will join the ''Board Out'' gang because they will have finally proved THEY KNOW NOTHING ABOUT FOOTBALL. Thats how it falls out the Bucket
  9. Wikipedia is often very funny if you look. I can remember a comment on a norwich player on there ill try to find it.
  10. Strihavka will score more, dont doubt it. Lets see, scoring records this season. Including reserves Strihavka has about 3/4 starts and small bits of tail ends of games. 4 goals, 1 first team. Brown has played forever and never scored Cureton was scoring until he was torpedoed by Grant Dion will get some, see his goal at rochdale for his full effect Martin maybe please dont expect too much of him if you want him to develop any further, he wont if theres too much pressure. Hux probably get a couple as long as his fitness returns, if not I fear for him Well then who is scoring right now? Sticks and Cureton. Who is injured? Cureton. So who plays? Strihavka. I could do it in algebra if you want but it will be VERY boring and probably wrong
  11. You know this could be a nothing signing- used to distract from the manager situation for a bit I think this happened with Jimmy Smith- he was signed right after Dickson left, before Russel was eventually brought in. I always thought that he had been signed to take the heat off a bit. Thoughts?
  12. Don''t knock it before you''ve tried it! You know how when we played Hull all you could see happening was Windass (old hardass) scoring and being annoying. He reminds me of Hartson (old hardass), it mightr work. And as everyone says, he doesnt have to stay.
  13. Same with Strihavka, this might sound really, really corporate and such, but seeing as he didn''t cost that much and hes relatively unknown we could make a profit on him should he succeed. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr I hate how that sounds. Point is, Martin is not the only one that needs "nurturing" as such
  14. Either you''re being sarcastic or I''m thinking of a completely different match
  15. I can honestly say no I cannot remember that game, but wasnt it Shackell off the bar?
  16. Heres a point- Martin-Huckerby upfront end of last season, there was no complaints about Hux isolating him then. Y''know how managers almost always win their first few games (just look at Grant- B''ham away and league leaders Cardiff)? Could be the same thing with Martin, I''m just saying if you want him to develop any further don''t expect him to save our season and score hundreds, because he just won''t. At that point fans will get on his back and then he will be Henderson 2. Dont expect to much, right?
  17. Martin was poor because Martin is poor. Why hasnt anyone presented Dublin as a possibility? Playing Dublin with Dave will make Dave much much better. we will also then have A LOT of physical presence in and around the box, so add a decent attacking midfielder (russel maybe? i dont know he doesnt look unstoppable) and a decent defensive mid (brellier will be im sure of it) and we have a set up!
  18. Sorry I have a habit of not concentrating enough, I didnt notice that he wasnt given the money. Good point
  19. Thanks Grant I really did want it to work, sometimes it just doesnt. The will was there, just the tactics were not It doesnt matter now, good luck!
  20. I second that but with Curo out for what looks like a long time, who can we get as a partner for Sticky? Martin proved ineffective against QPR Hucks proved himself ineffective upfront against QPR Brown proved himself ineffective against everyone Dion proved himself as good at pretty much everything he needs to do forward and back, but he more often than not has to cover for the defenders. So- sort out the defence, and then we have Big D to help educate Sticks in the English game. Having Strihavka as good as Dion can only be good for us, given the 16 years younger he is!! Sorry I have a habit of concocting long future plans
  21. Exactly Buddha! Most of these fans clearly just need a problem: Last week- "I think Hux and Martin must play up front together its bound to work, Why cant he see that, Grant must go!" Then after QPR and Martin (who is not the answer to all problems, and is not as good as made out to be) and Huckerby (who just isnt cutting it right now) havent worked:  "Hux and Martin never would have worked Hux just drifts out to the left and Martin is left exposed, Why cant Grant see that he obviously doesnt know the players he must go!" Huckerby doesnt appear to be using his pace if he still has it, and Martin is not looking like being good enough. HE IS OVERRATED.   Well now Grant is gone maybe the new manager wont listen to you lot HA HA
  22. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE say Dave will get a run of games soon! From what Ive seen (which isnt much) he does look quality. On the pace comment, it is possible to be big and have pace I''m the biggest in my team and just about the quickest too.
  23. Svensson was injured, but he was one of the ones in the Premiership season that wasnt looking to show themselves off to other clubs. Who thinks we should try to get him back? PS I never really noticed that we didnt buy a striker for the Prem, WTF was Worthington thinking?
  24. Why havent me or my friend Rob been included in the bookies numbers, I think we''d be great
