Thanks Granty

I agree with these sentiments. I never disliked the bloke as he was honest and had integrity, and I hope he has success in the future. It wasn''t working though so it was for the best that he left. -

Maybe the failed takeover was hostile? From Wiki:Di Stefano is a colourful and controversial figure, described in one source as "surely the only man in the world to claim the personal friendship of Saddam Hussein and the personal enmity of Delia Smith".It also says he represented Harold Shipman, haha. And it says he bought a second division Serbian team and within two years they were in the Champions League.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Giovanni_Di_Stefano -
Surely instead of losing games with Grant so he can get the sack, it would be better to win games with Grant to relieve the pressure on himself, the players and the club in general, move up the table, get the morale of the players up, move up the table, save us money on not having to pay off Grant, and most importantly, move up the bloody table?

Doherty must go

A Stoke fan just said to me on MSN:"He''s the clumsiest oaf i''ve seen in a long time, Doherty"Doherty is a disgrace. -
Jesus, talk about a knee-jerk reaction. It sounded rubbish tonight but really, I don''t think sacking the manager is the answer in the middle of September.
I can''t believe it has taken this long for someone else to share the same view as myself to be honest. -
Chris Goreham mentioned that we hadn''t conceded a penalty in the league since October of last year. Just thought I''d share it with anyone that missed it. Maybe Doherty isn''t as bad at conceding fouls as we think ?
How many has he conceded elsewhere though? He''s a liability. Clumsy and slow.

If we held on for ten more minutes, Grant is a hero and tactical mastermind. But we didn''t, so he is useless?
A 0-0 draw with barely a shot on target and 90 minutes of being battered and hanging on by a thread would hardly make Grant a tactical mastermind. More like Grant papering over the cracks.
I bet the reaction of this board would be significantly different though.

We need to win games .... with attractive football ... with confidence ... with goalscorers on the field ... Cureton ... Strihavka .... Martin .... We are going down with this Manager ... sack PG ... and get a real Manager .. a winner !!!!! Defending all the time and hoping for a lucky draw are no tactics ....
I''m afraid I have to agree. PG has to take some responsibility. Too negative for me
So you seriously expect us to go up playing beautiful football with three strikers on the pitch? Maybe on Pro Evo that could work, but in real life it''s stupid. -
Time for the Youngsters

I don''t think that''s the answer. Give him the season unless we get into a serious relegation scrap. -
With the formation we are playing, Brown is the only option. Cureton wouldn''t win a ball all night & Dave is not a target man either. Dion could do it, but he''s needed else where
Dave is 6''3" and decent aerially so he can be a targetman. And Brown doesn''t win that many headers so I don''t see why Dave is so unsuitable whereas Brown is.
I have Sky Sports News on and Merson is at his usual best... "No goals yet but there will be, Chelsea will win this at least 4-0" Latest score: Chelsea 0, Rosenberg 1
I remember last season he was doing the Birmingham v Norwich game. He was making errors all over the place and even the other panelists were taking the piss. Good viewing.
Still dont understand why Chadwick is playing instead of Croft?? Can anyone else?
I haven''t been impressed by Chadwick so far this season yet. He wasn''t bad when he got some action towards the end of last season but Croft looked better against Southampton than Chadwick did against Cardiff and Palace.
Official site says attacking 4-3-3... MarshallOtsemobor Doherty Dublin DruryRussell Brellier LappinChadwick Huckerby Brown
We won''t buy their propaganda though, surely? It''s 4-5-1 no doubt and they are trying to make it look attacking and not negative. Not that I am opposed to the system, I am just opposed to the fact Brown is up on his own and not Dave or Jamie. I''d also rather see Croft on the right.
