1. Hope we can snatch a draw. Going to be tough with no Bassong, Fer or Hooper.
 2. To be honest it was a good move for him. He''s 32, got a three year contract out of it and get''s to play in the Europa league. He''s also closer to Carlisle. This season he was going to be a bit part player at best, and he needs regular football to keep him fit.
 3.
this was mentioned on another thread about 7 pages in ..i can''t remember which thread but i know i saw it so next time just look yeah ?
QYFM!!! If you don''t want to read a clearly labelled thread, don''t read it. Did you dream it or are you just trolling? Or did you get confused and read this thread twice..................
 4. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/23499383Shocking Brighton..............
 5. Are they definitely going under? Or is it just brinkmanship?
 6. Bye bye Barnett. Hope we have a centre back coming in soon.............
 7. With Surman out, and Barnett on his way that makes 24.I''m expecting Butterfield to stay, Ayala and Fox to go, and a centre back + striker/winger to come in.
 8. Gary Holt, Adam Drury and Damien Francis were great signings. He had multiple problems really. Green , Ashton, Francis  (and later McKenzie) all wanted out. Mulyrne and Holt were never the same after bad injuries, and stalwarts like Fleming, Mackay and Roberts getting too old.So effectively apart from Drury and Huckerby, he ended up needing a new team. Then there was the Steve Howard fiasco, the David Cotterill fiasco etc.
 9. It''s hard for a young central midfielder, because it takes a few years for them to bulk up properly, hence why Ferguson started Beckham on the wing.Butterfield''s a decent height (just short of 6 ft) is two footed and can shoot from distance. Hughton rates him as a decent footballer, he signed on a 4 year deal when we expected to be a long-term Premiership club, so I''d expect him to be around for the long haul.
 10. Certainly £5 million looks good business when you consider the prices of Jay Rodriguez and Jordan Rhodes, but when several clubs are interested you can''t really drive the price down. Given Hooper played in the Champions League, and Rhodes hasn''t played top-flight football, it looks a snip. But as Purple points out, McNally''s masterstroke has been convincing RVW and Fer that we''re an ambitious up-and-coming club that they want to play for. He''s not a genius, he''s a hard-nosed ruthless businessman, who gets it right most of the time.
 11. Fox, Barnett and Ayala are the obvious ones to be left out or moved on.Given that Butterfield only signed last year, and Hughton seemed to be a fan, I think they''ll keep him and try to see how he develops.Surman''s a funny one, but since his best position is left tip of the diamond, and Hughton doesn''t play that formation, I fine it hard to see him staying. With presumably 2 strikers and a centre back coming in, I doubt Hughton will want to fully max out his 25.
 12. To be honest, it''s no different to previous years, the only difference this time is the amount of media interest, both in the UK and in Europe. I remember Bradley Johnson doing a tour of clubs two years ago, and multiple clubs agreed a fee for Billy Sharp from Doncaster. Whilst we''d like to do our business in secret, the agents are always touting for a bigger move (and bigger commission).
 13. Michael bailey better hope Fer and Olsson sign today or he''ll be relegated to Lowestoft Under-8 reporting......
 14.
I don''t remember specifically why but bringbackchippy conjours up serious images of correct inside knowledge in the past. Cusdp even more so from memory.
I thought they both knew Ian Crook, but he''s gone now :P
 15.
What surprises me is that wyett and nursey have much more of a pulse on ncfc clearly the archant guys have a poor relationship with the club
Their papers have the circulation numbers and national coverage that means they don''t care if they print the truth about Norwich or not.I don''t blame the Pinkun for being extremely careful with McNally. The starter for 10 would be the club''s response to the Ryan Harley debacle, when the club when nuts over the Pinkun posting a rumour.http://www.edp24.co.uk/sport/norwich-city-fc/norwich_city_linked_to_exeter_magician_ryan_harley_1_707008(Yeah, I know it''s vital football, but the club look like they''ve taken down their official statement, and this is the only link I can find that quotes it in full. There are plenty of respectable sites that have the truncated version - http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/norwich-city/8090596/Canaries-deny-Harley-interest.html)http://www.norwich.vitalfootball.co.uk/article.asp?a=218837Following up from that was the Look East interview ban after Dion Dublin leaked we were signing Craig Mackail Smithhttp://www.eveningnews24.co.uk/news/look_east_and_canaries_row_1_1004902
 16.

Furthermore why would be want to leave only a year after finally getting his big contract? Wigan surely can''t match that. And as for his missus wanting him closer, fair enough. But I''ll bet any money she''d prefer him to earn the big bucks for a couple more years.
Why would McNally want to move him on with two years of his big contract left you mean ;)The Holt thing''s been done to death. I''m surprised if he''s moving on now though, largely since we''ve always struggled to recruit strikers, and Holt going would mean we need another two coming in. Ultimately, he was only going to be a bit-part player this season, and he''s never been the best at coming off the bench. He needs regular football to keep his match fitness and touch sharp.I wonder if Holt hadn''t forced McNally into an extra year whether things would have been the same.
But that was always the case, because neither Holt nor Becchio could be relied upon to be mid-table Premier League quality next season. You can get away with one of the four strikers making up the numbers, but not two. So we were always going to to have to get in two more, providing we had the money, and it seems we do. It was only ever a question of whether we would let Holt or Becchio go. Apparently it is Becchio who is staying, so he fills the fourth slot.
Yeah, I suppose the whole problem with this is that we''re second-guessing how many players they want to bring in, and also the quality of those players. I find it hard to believe they''d be wanting to spend much on a 3rd striker, given that they''d be a bench-warmer and the midfield needs some competition.
 17. Now up on the BBC website http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/23219933

 19.
Worst performance? Quite obviously the original poster never witnessed the horror of Daryl Sutch, Ayala didn''t even get close That said it''d be a sensible move for him, pretty decent on his day but can''t see much of a future here
With Sutch I can only imagine that injuries turned him from an attacking midfielder into a crap right back. You forget when he first came into the team, Norwich were top of the Premiership and he was mentioned in the same breath as Sutton and Fox.
 20. With Redmond coming in (granted he''s likely to be a limited game impact sub), and that Surman really only functions on the left tip of the diamond (which Hughton doesn''t play) I find it difficult to see Surman staying. At least Butterfield fits into Hughton''s formations.Aside from that I see Barnett & Fox being moved on.
 21. There was an interview with Bassong where he said after talking to Hughton for ten minutes, he''d made his made up. Or something like that.
 22.

Yes I am setting my self up for a fall but I''m confident their is and will be one
Even after one of the people who work for the press has just said that the people in the press haven''t been told about a press conference?!
There is, of course, still two hours to go...
It would start late anyway :-P
 23.
The Canary magazine has a picture of RvW in a Norwich kit holding a scarf aloft, so that must have been taken weeks ago?
Ah, but he was just a random man holding a scarf then ;)
 24. Pity Pete isn''t around at this time of the morning.   Mind you, would have expected a few Archant journalists trawling for the next rumour ;)
 25. Depends really on how many strikers Hughton is planning on bringing in.I can''t help but feel that holding McNally at gunpoint to get that extra year is going to backfire on him.
