1. Dave Penney. Pulis possibly. Grayson won''t come. Tilson shouldn''t. Parkinson musn''t.
2.
Hi C.T,   I don''t think i''ve looked forward to a derby match from about the age of 12 upwards! It''s only enjoyable AFTER the result (if we''ve won obviously), never before. As for confidence about winning, have you seen our away form!?
At least you can separate it as good home or bad away form. Have you seen our recent form playing football anywhere?! The reason Jewell may not be as simple as the Curbishley situation is he kept Bradford up, left by his own choice, and went on to manage Wigan who had no support and were further down the league ladder than the jobs he could''ve attracted. Curbishley left Charlton because he was bored of his mundane club always struggling, yet surviving, and left with the specific intent of getting a bigger job. Jewell just wanted a break from football and achieved what he wanted at Wigan. I understand the competitive edge those in football have, and need. I don''t expect Paul Jewell to end up at Carrow Road. But I do think the situation is different to that which surrounded Curbishley last season, and I do expect the board to make every effort to get Jewell in, even if ultimately his answer is no.
3. Curbishley was always a complete no-no last time, due to how long he''d been at Charlton and the reasons for his departure. Paul Jewell on the other hand left Wigan in different circumstances and for different reasons. His subsequent moves after leaving a job would also suggest Norwich could be a possibility. It would be painfully difficult to get him here, but I believe more plausible. Curbs I agree was never going to happen. Although even if Jewell did come here costing masses of money, under a barrage of good will, it could still all go disastrously wrong. The problems run far deeper than the man in charge of the dugout, but could good be solved by that same man and a few decent results.
4. Covers everything I have been thinking. 100% spot on - article of the season, if not decade.
5. Paul Jewell would be grand, and there may be more hope of him coming here than Curbishley this time last year. Martin Allen, David Penney or Mike Tilson possibly. It has to be a motivator and someone who can instill some spirit in his players. Peter Taylor, Neil Warnock or Joe Royle would be a disaster for this club. PG, you meant well and I''ll miss your ramblings. In the end, the things you tried didn''t work and the players stopped trying (again). On, on, on to the next one...
6. Sorry PGTA (I refuse to note your name change :) ) With Varney rumoured to be on £17,000 pw at Charlton, our wage bill is already acknowledged to be below average for the Championship. That''s the way it is.
7. And there was me thinking it would be a link to a video.
8.
mb, The sports cafe in Haymarket will probably show the Norwich match.  I ''ve been to one in Birmingham (Broad Street).  They''ve got millions of TV screens, and booths where you can pick which channel you want to watch.  I found the whole experience quite dizzying.  As for Nottingham, the nearest sports cafe is Birmingham, and if you''re going to go there, you may as well come back to Norwich for the day.
Cheers my man. Are we also agreed the Old Red Lion in Angel will show the Norwich game ahead of United''s? Anyone know? (sorry guys, I know this is about Nottingham''s access)
9.

Astonishing. I''m not a huge fan of the loan system anyway, for the very reason that it seems a very expensive way of ''papering over the cracks'' in the playing department, with no real solution at the end of a 3 / 6 month period...but seeing these figures bandied about for a LOAN deal is just astounding. I just hope to god that our precious academy gives us a nugget or two (one would be a start) in the not too distant future, because this seems to me to be just about the only way we are going to have any type of assets in the squad any time soon. On that note - who has seen the academy play lately? Please tell me we''ve got a precocious talent or two to hint upon a rosy future...?!
its not really a LOAN system anymore, more of a HIRE system basically we`ve hired jimmy smith from chelsea
Excellent work Greg. Hire purchase is exactly what it is, and represents how skewed the whole league has become. The playing field is so uneven it''s more like the top of Mount Snowdon.
10. Sh*t. I''m guessing the pub I was going to go to in London would show the Norwich match, but not if Manure are playing at the same time. Balls.
11.

although they can take solace form the fact that they do have much larger potential attendances than Norwich and as such may attract a super rich foreigh investor (just having a joke with myself .... and others)
They might well get that super-rich investor Old Salt, Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen has shown an interest in them in the past, as Southampton is somewhere to park his (world''s largest) yacht so that he can get to matches.   I don''t know what the current state of play on his interest is though.  Nutty Nigel - any updates ?
As far as I know, Allen has dismissed he was ever interested. A member of the Southampton board who was brought in to arrange fresh investment left last year after a failed 12 months trying to attract new money into the club. Hence the state they were in last summer - something which may be repeated come next May. We have used Southampton and Palace as reference points since our relegation. An article in today''s EN also makes the connection. It is interesting (if not heartwarming) to see how differently the three sidea are doing.
12.
as many of you know some space at carrow road has been made into offices already, broadland housing association actually hav ther r main headquaters based at carrow road this is in turn generating a incom for NCPLC, so my guess is the 1.3mill loan is to turn more space into offices to allow more companies to work from carrow road thus generating more income, with the size of broadland hpusings organization i reckon there rent on these offices must be quite high, so if you get several more offices out of carrow road spare space then its gonna generate a income,  say 10 firms all paying a average of £1000 a month for a small office space equals 10,000 a month thats 120,000 a year income but we all know that prime office space at carrow road is gonna be a ot more then a £1000 a month, plus with the size of the organiation at broadland housing i reckon there more then paying a few thousand a month for there office space, so if the 1.3 million loan makes office space that is then rented out the loan pays for its self and is cleared quickly
This is, of course, fair enough. But could it have gone on a centre-back instead?
13. Indeed. I''ll start. Why the high non-playing staff wages? Should this not be a target for ensuring sufficient money is targetted into the football side of the business. Why a £1.3m loan (I''m going on the basis of someone else''s discovery) for office improvements?
14. Sorry, and added to my earlier post, I accept the need to tighten player wages upon relegation. Buut the non-playing staff (ie not related to football) shouldn''t be extravagant to the point of being detrimental. These issues DO ring some bells from before and, while the scale of activity and immediacy of the problem is not an issue comparable to the days of Chase, the philosophy behind it sadly feels worryingly similar.
15. This £1.3m loan to fund office expenditure. I''d like to ask a few questions about that. Has it ever been mentioned before? What''s it going on, and is it really necessary? Because it would pay for a new centre-back.
16.

What''s exacly do people think a demostration before the game will achieve exactly?   Will it make the bored buck up their ideas and change the way they run the club?   Will it make the bored pack their bags and leave the club so that someone else better can take over with imediant effect?   The answer to both those questions is NO! For god sake, that''s the last thing our team needs especially the youngsters that will be filling in for some of the first teamers that can''t play. Just get behind the team this saturday and do your bit to try keep the club from slipping further down the league.
Thats my point precisely, what good will protests or demonstrations do for the confidence of young Spilland or Jarvis. Lets get behind them Saturday and raise the roof to help them to a victory.
To be fair, it would probably achieve Norwich 1 - 4 Sheffield Wednesday. Then we''d all be happy, right?
17. If we have a word with Sky, we could probably make it an annual event. They guarantee to bring the cameras. We guarantee to get on the new manager''s back. Maybe Delia will bounce on at half-time to give another drunken pep talk, while Stev Coppell can chat about ''Little Old Reading'' once the game has finished. I remember hating Wolves six years ago for stuff like this. Don''t get me wring, we desperately need to improve. Does that have any chance on happening under an atmostphere like that against Burnley last season? I say spend five hours at the pub before the game, and give the lads everything you have when you''re there. That way, you''ll have fulfilled your side of the bargain. It''s then up to the players and management to fulfill theirs.
18. Cumfy sounds like something grand. But my dear RD, as I am sure you abide by, always go where the ale is. It''d a fine Norfolk trait! You have my complete vote of confidence.
19. Sadly this thread sums up exactly why enjoying the honour of being a Norwich fan, and regularly contributing to this messageboard don''t always work. What a ridiculous load of tosh. No bullying. Just my opinion on something written to create divisions and infighting. I''d rather still be at Wolves.
20. I''d send it on to Peter. Just as a gentle word in his ear.
21. Are you receiving an income from Sky, Wiz? Stop stirring. Those letters mean nothing to me.
22. He could start. He could be a high-impact substitute (I hate that expression). But either way, he''s going to have to play far better than he has been doing. For all his words, his performances against Charlton and Wolves have been poor - and not because of who''s around him, but his own use of the ball.
