Burnley vs Watford to be postponed
cornish sam replied to Maltesecanary's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Damned straight, they even say in their statement it's because of covid AND injuries. Much like arsenal at the weekend they are taking the ****, clubs have u23s for a reason, they should have to fill their squad with them like we had to the other year... -
Brentford, come on down

No, we just had our new team could of seasons almost a decade ago, since then we've yo-yoed -
Brentford, come on down
cornish sam replied to Making Plans's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
I think Brentford could go on a massive run of losses if they get nowt in the next 3 or 4. They may even struggle to reach 30-35 points (here's hoping) -
Beating Everton's going to relegate us 😉

Those figures are obviously bollox. No premier League team is only paying £12m pa. I would be surprised if.any championship team have a wage bill of only £12m pa! To put it into context, £12m shared.evenly.across a squad of 20 players would be £12.5k PW each and the thing about averages is that half of them will be getting more than that and half of them less... And that's only allowing for 20 players on the payroll, Brentford have a whole b team as well!

Goodbye Rocky Bushiri

You're right, didn't recognise him in that getup and doing further proper research (cos it was bugging me), found out the guitarist was actually played be jeremy sightings... -

Young? He didn't age well.... Though doing a bit of googling, turns out it could be Neil hannon, the keyboardist from Divine comedy wrote the music for league of gentleman and it looks like he might be the one on the drums.... -

Yes it is, but I wouldn't say it was taking advantage, the players invariably will get a chance to train at better facilities and with better coaches and players than they ever otherwise would. -

I know, the wolf looks pretty stupid whilst it's trying to catch the small bits flying around out of its reach.... -

They don't have to make it at Norwich for it to be worth doing, loan fees and the "option to buy" will probably more than cover our outlay on them. It might not be what we as fans want, but it makes sense from a business perspective... -
And only one of them looks old enough to remember what a proper protest against the board looks like. We need Tilly to get them round the fireside and tell them his war stories 😁

It would be a great buy for someone with a vested interest in Norwich city for Norwich city's sake, not for a return on any investment without just leveraging against the club and putting us in a worse position a la burnley
-
Why would we be an attractive proposition? We are punching above our financial weight, we already have good infrastructure, we are practically debt free. What opportunity would there be for an investor to make money off us without a significant long term outlay and therefore risk?

I've posted this link a couple of times before, normally followed by the fact that only Shrewsbury and Carlisle have owners with a net worth listed lower than ours. There are a few unlisted who would also fall into that category (e.g. Exeter). But it really does emphasise what an exceptional job we have been doing and how we should be proud of the club and owners, not just looking at the grass on the other side....

Clinton Morrison sums it up
cornish sam replied to Samwam27's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Not at all, it's a model intended to keep the club as an independently going concern and not behoven to the whims of some billionaire who rarely even sets foot in this count(r)y. The club is there to be the pride of its city/region, not some bauble that a rich dude has hanging from his portfolio of vanity... -
Is it time for a fan led buy out?
cornish sam replied to Iwans Big Toe's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Prolly about 200m between them, so probably no for both.. -
Is it time for a fan led buy out?

Perhaps Jake could team up with Hugh Jackman. Now Ryan Reynolds has a football club Hugh could seriously one up him if he bought Norwich and he is a self confessed fan with family ties to the area... -

Like a celebrity chef and publisher perhaps? The problem with fan owned clubs is.that they reach a ceiling, realise they can't get any further and then sell to someone with money to try to take them to "the next level"™, Swansea being a prime example.... -
