  1. He looked quality against Everton, which was the game you were referring to. Would love to have him here with us.
  2. He did well on England''s tour of America though.  Linked up well with Owen and Benitez must know what he can get out of a player, can you imagine a Riise long throw into the box? He will win loads of flick-ons and if Owen does go back it will be a deadly combination.  Remember Toshack & Keegan anyone?
  3. Getting sick of this now.  I don''t know whether it''s frustration & boredom of the close season (slow news days, etc) but this thread is going round in circles.  People are sniping at each other and losing sight of some important facts: 1. We will NEVER know the exact amount of money NW has at his disposal.  Why would the club let that information out? 2. Ok, we have sold Helveg, Jonson & Svensson. IMO no great loss, I don''t think any of them relished the Championship. Especially in a World Cup season with squad places up for grabs. 3. We are a bit thin on players I admit, but we have real quality in the squad, how many clubs would like Ashton, Hucks & Leon up front? 4. There are hardly any transfers at the moment, sure a few big name transfers have happened but look at our level, hardly anything. 5. We are all Norwich fans, no matter how much we moan about the (lack of) signings we won''t have a say in the matter so lets all pull together & get behind the team and club.
  4. But it would only be for one season. That''s if we get promoted of course, as Worthy doesn''t rate him as a Premiership defender.  But to answer your question, yes would love to see him back, he would die for this club.
  5. Why are we going backwards?  Just because we are not signing every released player there is. No surprise that Lomas has gone to Palace, still in London and Dowie''s type of player. He''s knocking on a bit though isn''t he. I am happy so far with what Worthy has done.
  6. I agree, pointless.  Maybe we need a junior Pink''un/kids corner for these posts..........
  7. Wiz, just try and be happy. We know that Dereham aren''t our standard but we did win, our new lads looked good & you can''t really ask for more than that.  Well, YOU probably will.
  8. Whilst the thread should not be used for a slanging match, it has taken it''s natural course.  After the initial shock & grief it was only natural that people were going to talk about the solution to the problems & causes of it. We should congratulate ourselves that we are able to discuss world events on a football message board, this is what democracy is all about isn''t it?
  9. Flem & Doc will be fine this season, don''t panic. My brother is a Cardiff fan and he and the majority of Cardiff fans are gutted to see him go.  I can''t comment on Louis-Jean but Jarret is a proven midfielder at the peak of his game.  We are Norwich City, not Man Utd, Chelsea and it pains me to say it but I think geography plays a part in getting players to come.  We have to be realistic people.
  10. Before we all start blaming Worthy, could it be that playing in a lower league might be damaging to his international chances? After all, Helveg has gone due to this reason and I don''t really think it''s a great loss anyway. If you had said Deano or Hucks were leaving then that is completely on another level.
  11. I think that DD''S title is a little strong, but I am starting to agree in principle. We have a friendly tonight and of course some games in Holland this weekend, we need these games for players to gel together. With Wigan (seemingly) winning the race for Ryan Taylor''s signature we will have to start again for right-back cover.  Come on Worthy, fly Taylor to Colney, give him the tour, it never fails!!
  12. I don''t think there is a solution to this problem. For every "cell" that is captured before they commit an atrocity such as last week, there will be more to take their place, and some WILL slip through the net to do their deadly deeds. They are not bothered about being called terrorists, there is a passage in the Koran about it being the duty of Muslims to bring terror to the enemies of Islam, and how can you reason with someone who believes (and I mean TOTALLY & UTTERLY) that eternal paradise at the side of Allah awaits those who commit these crimes? I was stationed in Germany during the ''90s, attacks by the IRA were commonplace and checking your car for bombs was an everyday practise. You had to leave a space at junctions to give yourself a chance of escape, should a car pull up alongside.  There was very few attacks on military bases directly, just the people who worked there, squaddies on nights out, a young family walking out of a German takeaway and on cars that were off base. The majority of the Muslim Faith are peaceful, as are the Irish but I think we should be prepared for a long slog as the minority continue to wreak havoc amongst us.
  13. Yes Wiz, it is by his agent, But as Korean says, it would be good if Damo actually said something himself, rather than letting a bloodsucking parasite do his talking for him. I want Francis to stay, by the way.
  14. Chris Woods. He was number one at the time I first started going to Carrow Road, I also remember watching him in goal for England U-21''s in 83/84(?). I think we played Norway and beat them 4-1.  That said, I will never forget Gunny''s display against Everton away, we won 1-0 that day, but without Gunn''s saves we would have lost 7-1!
  15. Welcome back Susie, you have been missed! Hope you are feeling better and I look forward to your columns throughout the season.
  16. Isn''t treason a Capital Offence still......?
  17. 2 million!! Bloody joke. Understudy? To Ashdown? Is this guy on drugs or something, talk about trying to unsettle a player, go away will you? Football does not need your type of chairmen, say goodbye to the Prem as well, this will be your last season there for a long time.
  18. I expect to see it in 2012, where we should be entering every competition.  On that note, wasn''t it great to put one over the French yesterday?!
  19. Remember your posts about Greeno?  Slating him for saying he MIGHT have to move to further his England career? Everyone is entitled to an opinion, just because we don''t always agree doesn''t make someone less of a fan.
  20. I just think he keeps his cards close to his chest. How do you know he hasn''t already got someone in place? He''s hardly going to make himself sound desperate for a right-back, as that pushes the price up, please trust him.  Btw, Helveg good riddance.
  21. That is quality!! Cheered me up no end that has!
