  1. And the Binners lost and I won my tennis match, and England won the rugby.  A perfect set of results all round.  Deserves a beer or three I think!
  2. No doubt your parishioners are in for a very lighthearted sermon tomorrow your holiness!!
  3. Carnival atmosphere at the end, DD.  They played the ''ole, ole - going up up up'' song and virtually the whole ground was singing it.  Just hope this can be a platform for some good results in the next few weeks.
  4. Brum Uni Canary...consider it done.  The underwear thing, that is!  And the red jumper too so long as it''s blinkin'' freezing out there.  (Even Damo resorted to the gubbies on his mits in the second half, and to think I called him a wuss for so doing!!!  I consider myself suitably admonished, and I''ll buy him a pint any day of the week!!!)
  5. Et le Norwich?  Trois points.  Merci beaucoup et bonne nuit!!!
  6. I''m not going to say any more about the red undies on here...you''ll just have to read next week''s Bird''s Eye View if you want to know more!!!
  7. I''m so happy I''d kiss my red knickers if I didn''t have them on still!!! (Not sure you saw the same Mully as I did, Mr. Bunny...the one who chased everything, passed the ball to other players in yellow shirts, had vision and purpose and didn''t treat the ball like a hot potato.  Still, who cares?  We''ve got rid of the label and it sure feels good!)
  8. Does kind of put a few things into perspective doesn''t it?!
  9. Bloke in QD said on the local news that they have been selling well today since the story got out!!!  Anyway, good news is I''ve just had a rummage (not a scrimmage!) and found a pair of really red ones for Saturday, and also my red jumper that I can wear under my City shirt.  There''s no way we can lose now, is there?
  10. Sell the six duff Greenos and keep the one real one!  That''s it! Pete, I was making a friend smile by shaking wings with the beloved CC.  Only thing was the last laugh was definitely on me ''cos whoever''s in that suit is pretty damned strong!
  11. Pete, why has the text I typed gone crazy all over the page?  It was fine on the page in front of me!  (A stoned canary can only be the captain!!!  He nearly took my hand off at the Blackburn game!!!)
  12. Just for you, Xeno...but it is really living in fantasyland this one! Merry Christmas Everybody... Are you hanging up Joe Royle on your door?  Is it time to ditch the Binners as a bore?        Can you race a stoned canary round the pitch at Carrow Road? Would a few points help to lighten up our load? Chorus:  So here''s to you, Norwich City, Let''s just get this win thing done,       Look to the future now it''s only just begun. Are you waiting for your presents to arrive?  Are you sure the box has three points wrapped inside? Does your grandad always tell you that the old team was the best?            And you end up trying to kill him with his vest! Chorus:  etc. What will our Worthy do when he sees Delia kissing a billionaire..ah ah ah? Are you writing out your wish list at this time?   Do you want a proven striker?..what a crime! Can you see him on his way now as he trudges through the snow?  And the board decides to part with all their dough. Chorus x 2 Sorry folks, I''d better stick to the day job!
  13. Sorry this is off topic a bit (well, a lot!), but gazza, you''ve just reminded me of something I will never forget.  The Port Vale defeat you mention was the day before my grandad died and, although he was in great pain, he still had the sense of humour to turn round the green and yellow bear by his bedside to face the wall after turning off the commentary.  Those were certainly dark days for me in more ways than one, and that might be why I''m trying to see the bigger picture as regards our current plight, and the more supporters we have, of whatever ilk, cheering on the lads during those precious 90 minutes the better, whether at FCR, in an armchair or on a beach on the other side of the world.  We all want the same thing at the end of the day.
  14. What an unbelievably sad day for the club.  Geoffrey Watling was a City legend and will always be remembered by those of us who remain to cheer on our boys in the yellow and green.  Perhaps he can put in a good word for us now with those who are influential in the other ''boardroom''!  RIP Geoffrey.  Life''s work well done indeed.
  15. Xeno, give me a well-known tune song that you would like given Cityesque words and I''ll see what I can do!  This was great DD.  Can we print it off a few thousand times, hand it out before the game and give it a go!  I''m sure it would make MOTD if nothing much else did!
  16. Do I get a prize for saying Tranmere Rovers Mr. Fleck?  No?  Didn''t think so!  Whatever happened to them and that nice Mr. Challinor who could throw the ball into the goal from the sideline?  Seriously, I do know what you mean about some supporters (the newly-acquired variety) but some will always come and go, and some will always be there through thick or thin.  It''s not mine to say whether one type or individual is better than the other...just different.  Guess the club will make hay while the sun shines and take their money while we all hope that the money is put to good use for the future so all types of supporter can meet again at a ground somewhere in Norfolk in the not-too-distant future.  (No, I haven''t given up on us just yet, in case someone thinks that means I have).
  17. Fatboy Slimfast - are you suggesting that you are willing to divulge your rear end size on here in order to see if you might fit into them?  Anyway, it''s going to be embarrassingly cold on Saturday, so I suggest you get out your thermals instead and spare us all!!!  (Only kidding!  But I''m sure you''d look great in the Hucks T-shirt if you win it!)
  18. Don''t know if they come in red, gazza, but I might do one of my 90 degree wash specials and throw in a white pair with a red tea towel, or something!!!  Don''t forget your gloves and scarves either, people, - it might get really cold in there...assuming there''s no chance to jump up and down and hug your neighbour...but then again, we could score a hatful!!!
  19. I think that''s it, shropshire canary, the prospect of only a few wins at home is very depressing, especially when compared to last season when we failed to get anything from just 8 games and had 28 - yes 28 - wins in total to celebrate.  This is one of the reasons I think we are all finding it so hard at this moment in time..not that we realists thought it would ever be easy in the Prem, just that it isn''t great not feeling that high of winning and of building confidence and belief.  Some may not like me saying this but it compounds the feelings of most fans whilst that lot down the road seem to be enjoying life so much.  Still, as I''ve said before, the mathematician in me won''t let me sink into despair until the points just don''t exist to keep us up.  Until then I''ll continue to hope (and pray!) that maybe we can do a Portsmouth, or something similar.  I do have a feeling though that 35 or 36 points may be enough to stay up this season.
  20. I''ve had a go...but I never win anything anyway so I''ve started saving to buy one.  Contributions welcome - I''ll be standing outside the clubshop on Saturday with a collecting bucket!  (Give me enough dosh and it might go to the striker/defender/midfielder fund instead!!!)
  21. StevenageFan..have you seen the forecast for this Saturday for Norwich?  It will potentially reach a maximum of 4 degrees with possible sleet showers!!!  Go without undies?  You must be joking!!!  I will probably get out the sexy thermals now...thick and woolly.  Doesn''t bear thinking about.  Just hope the players give us all something to warm the cockles of our hearts.  As for the ''S'' on them and showing everyone Normann...well, I don''t want to put anyone off the game, least of all the players, so I think that one''s a non-starter.  Besides I like being anonymous in amongst everyone so I can look extra silly when we score!!!
  22. I agree that he hasn''t turned into a bad player overnight, and I''d never question his effort or commitment to the cause, but his tendency to stand way off players is sometimes being punished in the Prem as players have the ability to be much more devastating with whatever option they choose, whether that''s crossing, taking him on or running into space and then shooting or passing.  He just needs to stick a bit (well, a lot!) closer to his man to be even more effective, IMO.
  23. Shall I or shan''t I - ditch my lucky green ones or not, that is?!  Well, they haven''t been too lucky yet this season, have they?  Haven''t got any red ones though...but will red and black still bring us the luck we need?  Oh, decisions, decisions!  Any help gratefully received.
  24. I can''t help thinking the same thing, NavMan.  If two of our draws had been wins we probably wouldn''t be reading half the stuff on here that we are.  I know that the ''if'' hasn''t happened and that people are entitled to say what they want as we are all ultimately supporters of the club, but a couple of wins in the next couple of weeks would put a different perspective on things.  Several more before May and we would all consider 17th an even bigger achievement than winning Div. 1!!!
