  1. Absolutely right gazza. My favourite moment of the season, wasn''t any of the obvious ones (although I obviously enjoyed them - that goes without saying), it was the first half at home to Millwall. The passing and movement was so good they couldn''t get near us. It was such an awesome display that I rose to my feet and applauded. Its certainly how I like to see the game played. Make no bones about it - its this type of play that will make us a good team in the premier. However, we''ll have to show this week in week out next season - not just the odd half here and there. Fast, incisive, and accurate passing beats the ''hoof'' style anyday. DW''s appointment will see us well - I predict 2 years and we''ll win the FA Youth Cup - just see if we don''t.
  2. I''ve heard the Lenny Pidgeley rumours too. What a goalkeeping setup we''d have then. Green - he WILL become an England regular in the senior squad. Pidgeley - has represented England at all youth levels - now tipped for the U21''s Lewis - again in the youth England setup The one thing would be would Pidgeley prefer to be a No2 bench warmer to Green or a regular first teamer in a lower Div team. If we could get him - I think it would a good move. This is just the type of player we should be going for - talented, young and hungry - rather than some of the ''has beens'' that have been mentioned for other positions. We also have to consider, that if things go badly next season - its unlikely that we''ll be able to hang on to Greeno if we drop back to Div 1, so we need to build for the future. Thats not being defeatist by the way - as I think we are going to surprise a few people, but we have to plan for all eventualities. Go get him Nige!
  3. I think so Mackemlad... Of the 4 teams left Sunderland would be my faves to go up as there has always been an affinity between Norwich and Sunderland supporters since ''85. You''ve proved that you are the 3rd best team in the league over the 46 matches - and have hit a little form in the last 2. Don''t let it slip. Good luck.
  4. I heard the following story... Wilnis went into a Italian restaurant with his team mates to celebrate getting into the playoffs. When the waitress asked him if he''d like his pizza cut into 8 slices. He replied "No thanks, cut it into 4 slices - I''m not feeling that hungry"
  5. I know we''ve had a bit a laugh on this thread sumbitting our multiple votes (me included) but we were cheating of sorts - but writing a program to do it - well thats just plain greedy! Its always the way - too greedy - if they wrote a program that submitted a vote from a random ip address after a random number of seconds (say 4 times a minute) between 7.30am and 11.30pm that would have amassed around 4000 votes / day which over the period of the vote, combined with real votes, would probably have been enough AND gone unnoticed. Voting at a rate of 30-40 per minute is just so obvious. Msg to Bristol, Oldham and Leicester fans - if you''re going to cheat, cheat properly! When the vote gets re-aligned - lets make sure we get Iwan up there legitimately - even if we do make the odd multiple vote the hard way ;-) We all know Iwan was the best veteran anyway - so if he doesn''t win this it won''t change how we all feel will it.
  6. Susie - nice concept! Maybe we are going to go for team whose players names are the same as place names in Norfolk. We already have Holt, Green (Stalham).... Sheringham would fit in nicely. Are there any other candidates anyone can think of along these lines - this approach would only be as daft as some of the other suggestions we''ve heard/seen.
  7. As well as looking a bit of a t*t in the glasses he also looked half cut to me - but hey - who can blame him for that! However, I''m surprised he managed to get served at the bar - I wonder if he had to show any ID?
  8. I''d like to recommend Brian "Mr Fantastic" Hamilton for the job at Leeds.
  9. Guys & Gals Time for a bit of a "hairdryer" WE MUST TRY HARDER. Seems as if the boys from Oldham have got in on the act skyrocketing their candidate into the lead, knocking Iwan down to second place. Do we want to lose out? Do we want to let our man down? TIME TO GET THOSE FINGERS CLICKING ONCE MORE. Tell your friends, tell your collegues, tell your lover, mother, granny and the milkman. We must restore Iwan to the position of the most venerable veteran.
  10. Jonzey - Re : "TOTLAPR stage of the season" - Love it! Bugger the half time oranges - I''m just off for a can of John Smiths - HAVE IT!! I retract my ''ease up'' calls immediately - now''s not the time to get complacent, we''ve got a job to do, and we''ve got to go out and do it. Stick that in your pipe and smoke it Bristol City fans!!
  11. HE SHOOTS - HE SCORES!!! WE TAKE THE LEAD!! E-I-E-I-E-I-O UP THE VETERANS LEAGUE WE GO!! In a while it might be time to ease off a little - but we need to keep an eye on Tinnion. Web Team - please dont blow our cover until Monday ;-) Or are you all joining in the fun!
  12. GO ON MY SON!!! We''re up to 2nd and closing in fast on Tinnion. Iwan may only have 21% so far but he must have had about 80% of votes cast today. My mouse click finger is aching!! Only another 3 days to go.... LOL
  13. To those that are interested. I''m not quite sure if this is working or not but this morning Iwans total seems to be going up rather rapidly. Hurrah! What I did last night is spend a little time ''decoding'' the voting page. It seems that the URL that actually casts a vote is as follows http://www.bbc.co.uk/cgi-perl/polling/poll.pl?subject=168746&profile=veteran&category=fivelive&choice=6&ok.x=0&ok.y=0 However, it only seems to work if the cookie that logs if you have voted is in the right condition. This is what I did today Delete the bbc.co.uk cookie Make a regular vote through the proper pages When the result graphic is shown then enter the url above and go A page is shown that is only the bar chart I keep hitting go to action the vote URL and hey presto the numbers go up (not instantly as it seems to take a few seconds to register). Now either there are a load of people out there voting for Iwan or this is working - when I started Iwan was in 3rd place by a margin of 20 votes - its now 200 - either way the Big Man is on the march and only 800 behind Big Les and a further 400 or so to Tinion! Voting ends at 8.30am on 17th May so still plenty of time.
  14. Just a word to say how good I thought Roger Mundby''s speach last night was. He thanked the fans far and wide, those that turn up week in week out, those that make the odd match, the thousands that listen only via the radio - all this support has been crucial to our success. Can you imagine a certain Mr Chase ever saying these things? With at least 50,000 people turning out last night - its clear to see that there is a huge latent support of our club. One question to pose is how long Carrow Road can go before we need some serious expansion. I think its clear to everyone that if our stadium could hold 30,000 we would fill it easily next season. Its a good old chicken and egg situation - we can''t afford to spend to bring in the extra revenue. The infill takes us to 26,000. With that already sold out (once the waiting list is addressed) and the pitch replacement we''ve already committed a cool £3 - 3.5m out of the Premiership pot already. Its going to be a fine balance to work out when the next step - a probable 2nd tier on the City Stand - should be taken to tap into this support.
  15. duke022 - look for another job - when you finally get one, trust me you will eventually, then walk in to your bosses office, sit down, put your feet up and tell him what you really think of him. Its best to ensure all the required references have been completed before doing this - but boy - it won''t half make you feel better!
  16. Done Yep - come on everyone, lets get our good ol'' boy up to number 1.
  17. Stupendous day. Got into the City at about 2.15 - got parked in Castle Mall and headed up to City Hall via the Club Shop which had been completely cleaned out. My family got our place just to the left of the TV gantry outside City Hall at 3pm but it was already pretty full even at this stage, and waited, and waited - so the time was taken up playing "I-Spy" and "Guess the animal" etc with my kids and getting the odd ice-cream. Unfortunately, the friends we arranged to meet, failed to join us - I don''t know why as I had given them decent instructions that we were the ones waving a green & yellow flag. Once things started to get going the time went pretty quick - got inteviewed for Radio Norfolk (did you hear me Mother!) and even ended up standing next to a fellow poster on here called ''Romford Canary''. Having seen the Cup go up, and all the players, Worthy & Delia interviewed I have to give a mention to the flypast which was fantastic. Somehow I managed to get us up to the Castle grounds after fighting though the throngs. When I crossed the road at The Bell the sight up to the castle and back to M&S will live with me for a long time. To top off the day, I received a call from my recruitment agent (thanks Stuart) at about 8.30pm to tell me that I had got the new job I so desperately need after a couple of months of searching. Just fantastic!
  18. You jammy git!! Good luck to you mate - have a great time!
  19. Yep - everything should be fine - no low bridges to watch out for on the route. Is it right that Macca has requested a seat next to Worthy on the bus so he can ask ''are we nearly there yet, are we, are we?'' Also - will he be able to look over the wall of the balcony or will he just look like Chad? There - thats saved anyone else sending in their ''hightist'' jokes. All this talk, I think I''ll go a slap in a Little & Large video - on the other hand - maybe not! As you know, I''m an exile - but I''ll be there on Monday - even signed the kids out of school for the day (well - its educational isn''t it?) - no way family NMTD are gonna miss this!
  20. Really glad they are giving Iwan a start, and the captains armband for Sunday. With promotion and the title wrapped up I see no harm in this little bit of sentimentality. In the article you are referring to DD I think Hull were mentioned who will be a league higher that Swansea. Iwan also said his family situation would also play a big part (and rightly so in my opinion) in his decision. I''m just wondering if a team such as Peterborough came in for him whether Iwan would see this as a chance for his family to stay in Norfolk. But if the valleys are calling, who could blame him for going home. I may only be a 100 miles or so from my ''homeland'' but by crikey - if I had the chance - i''d be back up like a shot! At least I get to visit once a fortnight for 9 months of the year! I think i''d go crazy if I didn''t have that to look forward to.
  21. So Dave Williams it is then - thats one prediction right. I wonder how many of the player ones are going to be right too?
  22. Wiz Glad to see that you are nearly back to top form - I say nearly because I am slightly worried about your "cloudy balls". I find giving them a good rub Aladdin style, whilst not actually improving anything, at least brings a kind of contentment. Of course even better would be for the good lady to give ''em a quick polish - but I doubt she is feeling up to that quite yet! Speaking of Mrs Wiz, I trust that things are still going OK, and that she is well and truely on the mend.
  23. Well, you maybe a believer, you may not, but one things for sure - all the BEST people support Norwich don''t they :-) Your observations sound more like the result of a Pagan concept to me - or maybe it was to do with Wiz''s hex on WBA - which maybe the same thing! I''m sure Wiz will let us know - he''s already said his hex worked out a little better than he expected - maybe it was the conjuncture with the lunar eclipse that had this effect. Common Wiz - what we all want to know is what is written in the runes for next season.
  24. Swindon - I think someone told me that Shirley Bassey sang your interpretation at her concert at Blickling Hall last year! Now there would be something to behold... SB belting out your tune from the center circle before our first Prem game next season! For the time being I think i''ll stick with plain old "There''s one F in Fleming..."
