1. I 100% agree with your comments Sheff. To come from where we were a few years ago, to where we are now, and still complain, well, i just can''t get my head around it. Worthy has done a sterling effort, and on Sunday, we may stay in the Premiership in our first season back up. What a truly remarkable achievement that will be. However, this isn''t enough for some fans. They want more, and they want it straight away. What really pis*es me off is when people get on Worthy''s back because we''re getting beat or aren''t mid-table already. Take off your specs Guys and Gals, because we certainly don''t have one of the strongest teams in the league, and whether we go up or down, we are on the verge of being an established Premier team. Everyone would have bitten each others hands off for this a few seasons ago when we were getting beat 1-0 at Grimsby on a wet Tuesday night. Looking at our situation as you are Sheff, with 3rd party perspective, Worthy is a fantastic manager. Looking at it from the view of some of the posters on here, he''s crap because we''re not beating established Premier teams 3-0. Grow up. This isn''t the First Division anymore. Everyone will be saying how great he is if we win on Sunday. Some of you should be shamed by your hypocrosy. Rant over.
2. Due to the all-or-nothing nature of Sundays game, i feel Worthy has to really play with a formation that is ''controlled attack''. Having Hucks, Leon and Deano leading the line is all well and good, but this leaves defensive gaps open where we can be hit on the break, and this is where the danger lies when everyone says we should just ''go for it''. Hucks needs to be tracking back to provide support for Drury, otherwise Drury is going to have a very busy day, and sooner or later, he''s going to be left for dead by Boa Morte or Cole. I''d start witht he same line up as we''ve had for the last few games, but would have Francis and Safri sitting slightly deeper than usual to Hucks and Bentley, to provide additional cover for the back 4. It''s imperative that we keep a clean sheet in this game, as the longer tha game goes on where we are solid at the back, the more confidence will spread throughout the team, starting with Green and ending at the end of Deano''s boot when he volleys in the winner. In Hucks and Bentley, we undoubtedly have 2 of the most creative players in this league, and this will not be lost on Worthy. Both need to be powerhouses on Sunday. I think Holt should lend Bentely his third lung to ensure he''s up and down that wing like he''s tied to a bungey rope. With Damo and Safri, we have 2 fantastic battlers in the middle of the park. Both are industrius, skillful and have bags of energy (dependent if Francis pulls his finger out - which he will!). As the midfield  than usual, and leaving Deano, Leon, Hucks and Bentley to go hell-for-leather in the box will ensure that if the ball is hoofed back up towards Green, we''ll have Damo and Safri in a position that ensures they can get back to assist the back four without leaving anyone without additional cover. Hoefully this will provide us with that extra bit of cover in time for Hucks and Bents to track back and pick up Fulham drifters. What i don''t want to see is Damo and Safri in the box at every opportunity. This will be picked up by the Fulham players, who''ll exploit the gaps left by our all-out attack. I trust Worthy to get it right on Sunday. That away win is coming, and it''s coming on Sunday. I for one will be singing from the off, until well beyond the final whistle, regardless of result. The players deserve that, and more than ever, we need to keep the faith, no matter what the result is with 10 minutes to go. OTBC. Prediction for Sunday: 1-3
3. Holt will definately be on the bench, as we need to have players who have experience of playing in high-pressure matches. I''d rather he wasn''t brought on, but if we are winning by a slim margin, and the game is a bit dirty, i''m sure holt will be brought on to run about like a headless chicken lunging at whoever is near him. Who knows, this may well be the best course of action at the time. If Worthy brings Holt on, and he proves to be the difference, we''ll all be back on here discussing Worthy''s tactical nous, much to the dismay of 1st Wizard (although i''m sure this will only last until the next ''mistake'' is made).
4. Didn''t he get Championship player of the Season, or soemthing like that? Agreed that it''s talk for after Sunday, but he''ll be a good singing for any of the bottom half teams.
5. It makes me cringe when i hear that chant. Fair enough, against Man Poo, it was funny only because it was ironic. Chanting it when our backs are to the wall, and we''re only just ahead or stringing a few passes together is poor show. I''m all for it against the big guns if there''s 1 minute to go and victory is in the bag. Against less able teams, it just sounds arrogant. Maybe a chant of ''WELL DONE FOR STAYING UP, YOU''VE PLAYED SOME DECENT FOOTBALL, NOW HOW ABOUT LETTING DEANO THROUGH FOR ANOTHER GOAL?" would be more apt.
6. I can really see us bagging 2 goals on Sunday. The problem will be, can our back 4 keep out Cole and Boa-Morte? Shacks played a blinder again on Saturday keeping out the Brum front line, although the woodwork came to our defence a couple of time. Last game of the season, so there''s no way PLayer of the Season ''nominee'' Fleming will be dropped. He simply has to have his best game of the season. Seeing as though he''s been pretty crap all season, he''s due a good game. And we''re due an away win. All bad runs come to an end. Ours will end Sunday. I have 100% faith in that.
7. If you don''t pull a sickie, you''ll regret it if the result goes our way. Your employer will know what you''re up to, but if they''re worth their salt, they''ll understand. Failing that, you can always do what they done in Escape to Victory. Get your arm snapped by a close mate, and then you have a valid excuse. Send Sylvester Stallone into work as your replacement. If we don''t go up, at least you''ll escape from the Germans.
8. I''m sure Harry will have them fired up more than ever because of this. Could prove to be just what the Saints need. I refure to look at possible suspensions, injuries etc for all the other teams in the dog-fight. We need to concentate on the job at hand. If we win, we''re up. That''s all that matters. The things is......it''s soooo bl**dy hard not to look at the other teams and how they''re going into each game. This has got to be one of the biggest games in our history. In terms of money and where the club can go on from here. it''s the biggest. Fact. I''m bricking it, but looking forward to a historic day. Thank god i have the Monday off work.
9. Eh, what about if we get beat and Palarse or Southampton draw? We''re down. I would have taken that extra point at St Mary''s to avoid this scenario. The only positive i can see is that now we have to go for the win to ensure survival. No other scenario should even be contemplated by the team in the build up.
10. That''s the spirit XXL. Let the glory hunters in Asia follow a team they know nothing about. At least you have real passion for your team, and that my son, makes you a true fan. You should be applauded for your dedication to the Yellow and Green cause. By 5pm this Saturday, i fully intend to be on my seat at Carrow Ruud a-whoopin'' and a-hollerin'' no matter what the result.
11.
I''d be disappointed if we lost Gallagher. I''m sure if Greeno went he''d be first choice. If we can keep players like Deano, Hucks, Leon I''d be confident whatever league we''re in. I think it would be...
"I''d be disappointed if we lost Gallagher.  I''m sure if Greeno went he''d be first choice" Have to agree with your comments on Gallagher DDiM. He''s a quality goalkeeper, and i personally think that''s he''s being loaned out to stay match sharp, as he''ll be number 1 choice if Green leaves. He''s far and away a better goalie than Darren Ward, with a lot of time on his side. Fair play to him for biding his time awaiting his chance.
12. Lappland, if you''re pretending to be foreign, and are taking the piss, then you''re a comedy genius. For some reason i can''t read your posts without cracking up. If you are a true Lap Lander, then i''m impressed by your spelling, if not quite your ordering of words. Either way, you support the Green and Yellow machine, and that''s good enough for me and anyone on this board.
13. 1: ZippersLeftFoot (great posts. A ''fair'' poster) 2: DDiM (great scope in his opinions, and A LOT of time on his hands apparently) 3: Marmite (makes some very witty comments) All other posters should be applauded for some great discussions throughout the season.
14. Another high scoring match i reckon. i can see us edging it 3-2, with another late goal. Ashton''s due one, and i can see Jonson getting off the mark. Bongo FC have too much quality to think they won''t get any goals. Hesky is on fire, and Pennant is a very very good signing. Bags of talent. It''s going to be another brilliant game. If we do go down, we''ll be missed, there''s no doubt about that. Every match report on our closing run of games has said it was a great advert for the English game. Whatever happens, we''re moving in the right direction, and becoming an established Premiership team will be achieved, whether that''s reinforced next season, or the season after.
15. I can''t see the point of worrying who wins what, and how many we need to win by. If we''re going stay up, we''ll stay up. If we''re not, we won''t. Everyone needs to stop beating themselves up about the potential outcomes and various possiblities of the results. Enjoy the next 2 games. They''re premiership matches where the only result that will do is a victory in both. This makes for an attacking Norwich, who undoubtedly have one of the most potent strike forces in the league on current form. Relax. Enjoy the games. Possiblilities are after all, just POSSIBLE results. No amount of ''if we win this, and they draw that'' will give a result. Only the boys can provide us with a confirmed result. They know what''s a stake. They know how much the whole city wants it, and no doubt, they all want to be in the Premiership next season. We have the quality, and more importantly, we have the hunger. Moreso than 2 teams who''s season has effectively finished. No matter what happens, i''ll be at both games getting behind the team. Fair enough, the season hasn''t been a resounding success. But it still can be, and at least we''ve been entertained. In the true sense of the word. OTBC. What will be, will be.
16. Kezman''s looked like he had on his addidas breeze blocks last night. his first touch was appalling. Granted Leon isn''t blessed with a fantastic first touch, but he''s always chasing up balls he loses. Kezman just looked on wondering what time his touch was due to be sent on the park.
17. Ashton for me. Without him, i doubt we''ll even be still sh*tting our pants with 3 games to go. He''s breathed new life throughout the whole team, has brought the best out of Leon. Just having him in the team gives me confidence every game we play. The boys is going to be a City legend, and for this, even though he''s only played part of the season, he get''s my vote. Hucks a very very close second though. Tremendous effort, but not always consistent witht the final product. Can we vote for the Fans, seeing as though we have a squad number? Number 4 in the list for travelling away fans, and sold out every home game. Now that''s a consistently brilliant perfonrmance.
