Just seen on the BBC site that Gary has been carried off on a stretcher whilst playing for Scotland - lets hope and pray it is not too serious.

Who will Norwich buy? And who's out?
Necton Canary replied to Jonzey's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Remember that man - Kevin Harper - one of the three loanees we had in the autumn - I note from at least one website that he might be looking to move on from Portsmouth as his first team opportunities are limited there - He would be an excellent acquisition. I would love to see Peter Crouch back, as he seemed to fit in well with the Norwich setup - and I believe would improve even more with the guidance of Nigel and his team. I am sure that Nigel has several others in the pipeline - not necessarily current premiership players. What about cover for Robert Green - Joe Lewis is still very young but looks good for the future - is Paul Crighton able to deputise in the Premiership? As for those leaving - I agree it looks like Easton and Rivers - though I would like to think that Briggs and Sinclair need to be given more of a chance to prove their worth. In any case we will need a bigger squad, we have been very fortunate this year with injuries and supensions, had this not been so, things may have been much different. -
How did the Reserves do last night?
Necton Canary replied to Necton Canary's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Chris Many thanks - though sad to hear the Easton and Rivers were not up to much - I was hoping that Rivers might have been putting himself forward to help out on the right hand side of midfield - I wonder when young Briggs will get his chance to shine in the first team? -
I have searched high and low but cannot find anything on the reserves game against Gillingham last night. How did we do and in particular how did the fringe players like Mark Rivers perform?

who was there? what went wrong?
Necton Canary replied to HookNorton Canary's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
It was very windy which spoilt it as a footballing game, and we just could not get the finishing touch to score - have to say also that Palace are not a bad side - if only the weather had been a little kinder. Fans were fantastic - am fast loosing my voice - like the look of Kevin Cooper some nice touches. -
whos the worst signing ever
Necton Canary replied to the brock man's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Pete The last I heard Neal Fenn was playing for Peterborough - I too thought he was a super busy little player and I will always remember the sad look on Mike Walker''s face after that 5-0 win which was to be the last of his reign at the club. I think he already knew that day that he was going as the players ran around the ground saluting the fans. -
No one has mentioned Kevin Keelan - an absolute giant of a man who saved us in many occaisions. Then there was Ron Davies - in my opinion one of the best centre forwards ever to grace Carrow Road But for me Kevin Keelan must be number one

Nigel is right, expectations amongst us all are very high, we cannot wait for Norwich to reach the promised land, and supporters being critical of players at this time of the season does no good whatsoever to confidence levels. Lets take on board what he says at Crystal Palace on Saturday - lets lift the roof off from the 1st minute and give the boys the support they need throughout the game in order that they can get another three points towards the premiership.

Calling all Bargain Hunters!

I have got one of Andy Marshalls gloves from his last game for the club against Wimbledon - personnally I always thought he was a good keeper - shame about his kicking though and the way he left us, left rather a bad taste - but I still hang on to that glove!!! -
I see that he is not in the reserve team today - nor listed as a substitute though Easton is. Is he injured, or is Nigel keeping him fresh for the weekend, or is the rift so big that he is no longer in the plans - I would be intrigued to know what is happening

is malky over the hill?
Necton Canary replied to greeno_4_england's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
In short - No We have the best defensive record in the 1st Division - Malky is an integral part of that defence right now. -
LETS ALL GO TO SMELLHURST PARK!
Necton Canary replied to a1canary's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Perhaps Darren Huckerby can do to Palace what Jim Bone did many years ago - by running at defenders he scored twice in a game City won 2-0 - The way Darren takes people on with his pace and skill really rattles opposing defences as did Jim. -
For Goodness Sake - Carrow Road is Norwich City - Has been for years - Leave well alone

Mine was in 1962 at Kenilworth Road against Luton -my dad took me as we lived in Bedfordshire at that time. I think we won that one but I was only 11 at the time so it''s a bit vague - the next year we went back there again and Luton thumped us 4-2 with a certain Ron Davies scoring 3 or 4 of them for Luton - thankfully we bought him soon after and what a super centre forward he was. I was dismayed when a couple of years later we sold him to Southampton. Do any of you remember those rattles all us boys used to have to spur the team on - really dangerous for those nearby but super fun and a what a super noise they made.

Leon MCKenzie Article
Necton Canary replied to YankeeCanary's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
I seem to have read somewhere that Leon was house hunting at the time - hence why he stayed in Norfolk -
Windy - You be careful or else you will be ruffling some feathers!!!!!!!

Michael Wynn Jones...do you agree?
Necton Canary replied to Canary Boy's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Yes I agree - 110% -
I think NW is playing the situation well using Malky and Craig as the central pairing - look where we are with them playing well this season. Jason Shackell is definately one for the future and will undoubtedly feature again before too long but in the interim, he is learning and improving from being part of the super setup that has been created at Norwich. I cannot remember being so optimistic about the future for City since those days in the early seventies when we first got promoted to the old Division One under Ron Saunders. The board and management at the club should be congratulated for the way that they have gradually turned things around and made our beloved club one to be reckoned with once again.

Please Please Mr Worthington Make my day and tell us that you have found some new players to bolster our already excellent, but rather thin on the ground squad. Every day I log on, hoping to see that some new faces are arriving at the club, and every day I am disappointed. The continual talk of the loan signings possibly joining is becoming depressing when one realises that it is not likely to happen. Peter Crouch was such an inspiration, Darren Huckerby is exciting and Kevin Harper did not really get the chance to shine because of his injury problems, but what a difference they have made - the club has climbed the table and everyone was so excited, albeit that we all knew in our hearts that they may not stay with City past the loan period. Please Please Mr Worthington do try and find some more quality players to keep things going the way they have over the last three months.

Bored of negativity and backbiting......
Necton Canary replied to BH0201's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Well Done Craig I have been thinking of posting the same sort of message myself - and I fully support everything you say. If anyone associated with the club had bothered to read some of the posts of late I am sure that they would have wondered if it was worth all the hassle in continuing. Norwich are a super club and have moved forward so much in the last three years - the board, manager and players deserve much credit for all that has been achieved and I am sure they will continue to do all that is withing their power to keep things moving in the right direction. -
Lets look on the brightside We apparently played badly - the weather was foul - it sounds as if the ref was not brilliant -players needlessly booked and sent off - a penalty against that was not - basically everything stacked against us - and we still got a point! Very sad listening to the game on Canaries World - hers hoping for better things on Saturday
