Sunderland sign Miller

Recommended Posts

Tommy Miller''s finally signed for Sunderland, according to SSN, subject to a medical.

Looks like Ipswich are in real trouble, with Kuqi and Magilton still yet to sign. They''ve lost the back bone of their side - it''ll be tough for them next season.

I''ve heard a rumour that Magilton definitely wants to leave, and with Kuqi going as well, you have to say that it looks very likely they are going to be in big trouble next season.

Shows how much time Sheepshanks spends thinking things through doesn''t it. Here he is banging on about letting the third place team going straight to the Play-Off Final whilst his team falls apart. What are the chances Ipswich will finish in 3rd next season?!? He should keep his mouth shut!

i have heard exactly the same, maybe ippo have really missed out on the big-time. ITs interesting now as they are really starting to struggle - at this rate wouldnt be supprised to see them finish around the lower middle half of the table.

It makes you wonder what league they''d be in if they didn''t have a good youth setup!!

According to BBC Sport Kuqi is definitely leaving as well!!! Oh dear Ipswich - no decent players remaining!!! Apparently they have plans to bring in new faces - I wonder who they will be???

Kuqi has definitely gone too.  Rumoured to be in talks with Blackburn, Palace and even US I read!!  Can''t believe that though.  Ippo might be in trouble now.  I always thought Kuqi would stay and thought Miller might be tempted.  I think I read that Bent, Miller and Kuqi scored about 57 of their goals last year.  They''ll struggle to replace them with a couple of hundred K which is what Joe will get.  Shame!!

I expect Ipswich next season to be very much like Stoke, Coventry, Watford. Teams that would maybe threaten to get in the playoffs but also look to be threatened by the drop. A team that we very often find hard to beat. Teams that just float in the middle there who have reasonable fanbases and stadiums in the 20-30k capacity area. Teams that were once in the Prem/First Division a lot but have now fallen away. No matter where Ipswich are in the table next season, the two fixtures next season will no doubt be great occassions for the fans and very tough footballing encounters for the teams. Bring it on I say.

If you are a Scummer, you must be thinking through the "if onlys" again and again.  They had their chance and blew it.  It is like Greeno, Hucks, Ash and Shacks being sold in one go.

Shouldn''t laugh at others'' misfortune, but in this case I will make an exception.

Are they not after foster from reading ?

I said to bloke at work who supports ipswich that they are going ot struggle big time to get any half decent replacements I mean they may have 4 or 5 million to spend but anyone who is half decent will be looking to go into the premier league

Davis, bent and miller are bad enough to lose but if kuqi goes that is it

I don''t think i have ever seen so many key players leave a team at once they have had big style

Drissa Dialla (sp?) is also reported as bailing, to Sheffield Wednesday on a free. No idea to what extent they''ll miss him, but with players leaving, its surely a sinking ship down the road..?!
Also, these sales and players leaving are down to the players, not the Club detaching itself from the deadwood like we''ve done with Crow, Edworthy and Mulryne.
Oh how the supposed mighty seem to have fallen...

Another point is that with this exodus of a number of quality players, Ipswich could find their gates drop considerably next season, unless they''re fortunate enough to find some good, bargain replacements. The last thing they need is a big drop in revenue from the turnstiles, I should''ve thought. Could be the start of a slide down through the divisions. Oh dear!
