The Great Drinkell

2 chances all game/

Recommended Posts

I can only remeber Tyler having to make two saves, one from Jackson in the first half and One from Holt in the second. Is this really good enough against a team of non- leaguers - who I may add were excellent today.

Sums up the season so far for me. - let get back to where we are competitive and let Leeds, Leicester, Forest or Derby take our place. The players haven''t changed from last season but the manager and coaching staff have.

No point being in the Championship if the aim isn''t promotion, otherwise you can''t be competitive, as you aren''t competing for anything. And if you don''t want to be in Premiership, you can''t aim for promotion in Championship...

Of course today wasn''t good enough. Doesn''t mean we should be in the Championship. Last season in league cup against I think MK Dons was also a complete shambles, but because it was against League One not non-league that makes it ok? Still lesser opponents, who embarrassed us.

Where has our passing game gone? And I don''t mean backwards, something we did for most of the game today. We looked like a team who had never played togther before, that just wanted to hoof the ball.

What gorn on at trainun Neil?

Two excellent saves, a clearance off the line and a goal bound shot from Surman blocked by a Defender in addition to several chances that were wide of the mark, notably Martin''s header in the sceond half where I think he expected to do better.

Still I agree in principle, I''m not completely sure whether we just need another striker or whether we would do better to aim for a creative midfielder to create more chances, Holt and Morison showed last season that they could score with enough chances coming their way and even Jackson will score if he gets the right sort of service.

considering the two chances, which yes aren''t enough, were to our supposed "best" strikers and the fact neither of them really did anywhere near as well with chances as premier league strikers should says a lot about our current attacking class.

Nail on the head for me. We are not creating any chances.

My point is if we bacame a WBA type Yo-Yo Club and build up a fund then we might be able to compete, we constantly hear we can''t afford him or we have a budget to keep to, Then we won''t compete at this level as it''s all about the money.

I''m happy to compete for promotion from the championship whilst receiving the "Parachute payments" and build a squad capable of playing in this league. there''s no surprise  about the teams who are near the bottom and the teams at the top. Now QPR have spent a load of cash they are expected to survive by some "experts" says it all really.

If Hughton''s the man let him build and mould a team not buy one. - bt please let us try and win games not just trying not to lose them.

As bad as we were we still had enough chances to have been 3 goals clear by the time they scored. For most of the afternoon the worst result I could see for us was a goalless draw as I couldn''t see them scoring but when their subs came on they suddenly started to look dangerous and should have taken the lead a couple of minutes before they scored. Most embarrassing result in 40 years of support for me and I''ve seen a few cup no shows over the years.Fair play to the Luton fans who were the noisiest I''ve heard for many a year while the majority of our fans were as quiet as ever.

BP, you''re dead right, the replay showed it bouncing off his arm & then his hand, while he watched it. Really blatant penalty.Still, doesn''t change the fact we were carp. Good luck to Luton, they deserved it.
