Howson hits a 25 yd screamer well kept out by Given.JH is turning into one hell of a player.

Howson''s shot was going wide, and so was Lappins freekick.

I agree Howson is turning into a good player for us. Expecting good things next season.

2-0, Jackson!

mistake by vila defence straight to jackson - he can''t miss, but he tries to, then puts in the rebound!!2-0 City!!Neither are the sweetest goals, but they''re ours and we like them!

"You should have gone down" the City faithful sing. In fairness to them, villa are crap at the moment.Only one team in it.

HT 2-0 City.Villa are rubbish and haven''t really threatened much, esp. first 30 mins. They tried to get back into it, but this just involved leaving their foot in in midfield which unsettled us for a bit - I think a few of their midfielders are on "last warnings" from the ref - Steven Ireland definately.Talking of which, since when did Steven Ireland become so crap? he was a great player at Citeh I thought.

Shay Given looks absolutely pig flippin sick.  I don''t think just with regards to this game, I think for the mess Villa are in.

Even accounting for their injuries, they should be doing better than they have been.  It seems like there is something going on, because McLeish isn''t that bad a manager.  But maybe Villa are like we were in 95?  They look to have really struggled without some of the better players, no more so than Ashley Young.

Am listening to the match on BBC West Mids. The commentators  sound quite dispondant really said that that was the worst half of football they''ve seen from Villa this season and that''s dispite some stiff competition!

looks like we could be on to finish 11th, now that is one hell of an achievement! where did Newcastle finish last year on their return, because i doubt many teams who have come up have done so well in their first season. Now lets have a 2 more goals for Holt so Hodgson has to take him to the Euros. How are we playing? I couldn''t find a good stream for the first half

The McNally interview on R Norfolk earlier today was insightful. It was put to him that this final match there was nothing to play for but McNally said that there was £2.4m to play for, between 14th & 11th. That''s a HUGE amount of money for a last game of the season.

I couldn''t find anything that would work for more than a couple of seconds but this is good (not in English though).

Brilliniant quote from BBC West Mids:"Are there 2 or 3 Wes Hoolahans out there today because he''s everywhere where I look!"

Man City 65% of possesion, 17 shots to QPR''s two and red card for Barton. How can they not be winning?

Watching a bit of the Man City - QPR game as that happened. Barton allegedly elbowed Tevez (not conclusive from the reply), got sent off, kicked Nasri I think it was and tried to headbutt Kompany then Balotelli (who else?) trries to get involved before Barton finally leaves the field. A long ban awaits for Mr Barton next season me thinks.
