December points total?

Recommended Posts

Ok - just read on another thread a big a month December is going to be. I hate these guess the points total for X month. How many?

Man City - A

Newcastle - H

Everton - A

Wolves - A

Spurs - H

Fulham - H

I''m going for 8. Wins over Wolves and Fulham, Draws with Everton and Newcastle.

I''d be very over excited about that too!

CC, I''d agree that 8 pts from that little lot would be a decent haul. The season in the Prem has a nice symmetry to it, with exactly half of the fixtures being played before the turn of the year, and us having played each team once.

So, under your prediction, we''d have  24 pts from half the season. A repetition of that would ensure safety come May with a bit to spare.

I''m not so sure about 8. I''d go for six. And, it being Norwich, I''ve a hunch that we''ll get some pts when we''re not expected to, and foul it up in some games we''d be expected to win !

I''m going for 9.

I think we will beat Newcastle and Fulham at home and win one, lose one out of Everton and Wolves away. We will lose at Man City and with the way they play i think we will struggle to cope with Spurs.

My head says we will pick up 1 point.

Man City – A Lose, we never beat Man City when they were sh*t, but now they are superb.

Newcastle - H Lose, they are rather good, but we are at home, so you never know!

Everton - A Lose, another team we just don’t seem do very well against and a strong team when fully fit.

Wolves - A Lose, now this one I struggled with but given that I think we will lose the previous three Wolves will nick this one.

Spurs - H Lose, again tight game but their quality will just be too much for us.

Fulham – H Draw, just that, Fulham are the draw specialists.

I think December might just be a very tough month, but football is a funny old game, we might just go through December unbeaten! Here’s hoping!

Man City - A Lose, have a feeling we could get a draw but will say a loss.

Newcastle - H Win, I have a feeling the likes of Holt and Morison will be able to bully Coloccini or however you spell it.

Everton - A Win, they are in a bit of a slump atm and may be an ideal time to play them.

Wolves - A Win, same as the above I hate them personally and they are playing pretty poor.

Spurs - H Loss, I feel that the likes of Lennon and Bale may tear us to shreads.

Fulham - H Win, I have a feeling us fans will want a result after the season we went down.

I think 12 points personally :)

Realistically about 9-10 though.

This "slump" Everton are in HRF . Would that be the slump that''s seen them win 3 of the last 5 ..the only two losses being narrow, unlucky ones to Man U and Newcastle ?

But I do think we are capable of getting a point there.!

Blimey. At the risk of sounding like Lake District Canary a touch negative there!

Personally i think once we get Man City out of the way (and saturday''s result took the pressure off that one) its not a bad run of games. Of course no game in this league is easy but Everton and Wolves are both beatable (the latter in particular) if we put in a decent display and Fulham are pretty hopeless away from home. Whilst Newcastle are in good form, their league position is a little flattering and they may take us lightly after some tough fixtures. Spurs at home i think is a tough game but again we are at home so not going to write it off. I therefore think predictions of 1 point are a bit unrealistic.

Man City (lose)

Newcastle (draw)

Everton (lose)

Wolves (draw)

Totenham (win)

Fulham (win)

8 points

made these predictions at the start of the year.

Might change the tottenham game to a loss, the wolves game to a win, leaving 7 points.

I''d take that.

Wouldn''t it be great if we defied the odds, got maximum points and could sail the rest of the season out though!

Tough little run. For a glass-half-emptyer, all those games are loseable. I''d gladly take two points out of the first three.

As others have said, anything over 5 is good going.

Oh I know I''m being a touch negative with only 1 point, but like Christmas if I don''t expect too much I get a nice little suprise when we win a couple.

I agree with Europe 93 - Lambert builds this team up and sets them ready for the 90 minutes against 10 men.

8 points is what I would like giving us 24points. A great start to then get ot 30 points asap in the new year.

Man City, as Lambert says you can enjoy it if you compete, I like our no fear approach. Lets play 90 minutes and sure we will put in a good performance.

Newcastle, I believe they will have a little dip they really are working hard for each other. I also feel we may be able to turn them over.

Everton are struggling to find a way of playing ,yes Goodison doesn''t sound great but we could pick something up.

Wolves, well they are struggling, EB will be returning to Molineux, I think we can pose problems. I woudl think this would be an even game and one where we are likely to pick up another away win.

Spurs I think this will be a real test, great players and as with Man City if we compete who knows, but like Man City not expecting anything.

Fulham, definately look at this as another chance to get a win, it was annoying last time in the prme not to beat them at home. They are a team we should target and at the time it will be a vital three points.

Exciting though isn''t it, under Lambert I feel so much more confident that we know what we are doing

Lose to Man City, beat Fulham, and draw the four in between. That makes 7 points from the 6 games, giving us 23 from the first half of the season. Keep that up for the second half, and the total of 46 is usually good enough for about 12th place.[:)]
