a1canary 0 Posted January 20, 2005 I''ve just read this on the BBC site... "The Norfolk club had over double the number of points they currently have at this stage in 1994/95 when they were last a Premier League side and got relegated." Sigh
Gentleman Jim 0 Posted January 20, 2005 All things are relative A1,There are three other clubs with the same lack of points, but there obviously wasn''t then.So don''t be depressed, Worthy says we are staying up, so what''s to worry ?
nycanary 1 Posted January 20, 2005 dont fret too much. the points tally of the bottom 4 clubs is probably lower than ANY other clubs at this stage of the season for any premiership season.if this way last yearor the year before and we had this points total, we''d probably already be 100% doomed.but we''re not...coz we''re still in with a helluva chance. whoareyou? 0 Posted January 20, 2005 i think its because we had a good first half to the season that year and very bad second half.
Campbell 0 Posted January 20, 2005 Last season we would have needed 34 points to stay upI think it will be about the same amount this season, maybe a little bit less.I''m still optimistic, though if we do not beat WBA at home, I''ll pretty much know we''re doomed
Northern Canary 0 Posted January 20, 2005 the difference is that we sold all our players then. worthy has said that he is keeping Ashton and others so even if we do get relegated i am pretty confident it would only be for one season
shropshire canary 0 Posted January 20, 2005
i think its because we had a good first half to the season that year and very bad second half.
I seem to recall us being in the Top 6 at Xmas that season, so it was a hell of a fall from grace! This season let''s just hope the whole thing happens in reverse, and the end result won''t be the same then! Alan 0 Posted January 21, 2005 In the 94/95 season City had an enormous amount of luck in the first half of the season. They played badly and still won. They scored lucky goals and had refs decisions go in their favour while the opposition hit the woodwork. In the second half of the season it evened out.If they stay up this season they will also need some good luck which has been lacking this season, especially around Christmas. If they play as they did against Spurs they should stay up easily unless they have the same bad luck they suffered in that game.
Robert N. LiM 6,274 Posted January 21, 2005 I''m more worried by the fact that Lawrenson has tipped us to get a point...

a1canary 0 Posted January 21, 2005 ok, thanks people, that''s made me feel a little better. Too true about our last season and being top 6 at xmas. That must be some achievement. Is there a statitician amongst us who can see if there has ever been a fall down the table as dramatic? You''re dead right Alan about the luck. Anyone remember John Newsome''s goal against, er Leeds was it? He fell over in the penalty area in such a way as to scoop it in off the crossbar!!God why can''t we have some of that luck now? bananaman 0 Posted January 21, 2005 I''m pretty sure we did not win ONE single game after christmas. This must be a record.
a1canary 0 Posted January 21, 2005 bananaman, mate, your forgetting one game. one very important game, that may ultimately have hastened our demise. Norwich 3 - Binners 0. After which it is said that a certain fat controllers said - we don''t need a new striker, we''ve got Jamie Cureton, he''ll get us out of it. Wrong again Mr Chase! ZLF 334 Posted January 21, 2005 Wasnt that the season where we beat Tahn 3-1 which was just about our only win since Xmas, where cureton had dyed his hair???A whole season with just two wins - now THAT would be a despressing stat...OTBC
