No "restrictive pre-conditions" says Mr Doncaster

Recommended Posts

This makes a mockery of the anti ''foreign'' investment stance upheld by the board in ''better'' times.Eg.

Delia Smith- "We are not going to sell to a foreign investor, ever," she said,

adding that after more than 10 years as a director at Carrow Road she

has realised that "the supporters really are the ones who own the club".

Smith

agrees that the idea of a billionaire investor saying he had grown up

kicking a ball around the streets of Minsk and dreaming of Ted

MacDougall would probably be quite intoxicating for ordinary Norwich

fans, but stresses it would not be in the club''s long-term interest.Source The Guardian

It is little wonder that ''Delia'' with an ''R'' on the end is turned into asterisks by the swear filter on this message board. It''s easy to see where the Wizards and Smudger are coming from at times and a volte face of this magnitude is a prime example. Then again I''m just an ordinary Norwich fan so what would I know compared to a Board who had to resort to asking an audience of shareholders ''what to do next''?

I''m right in saying that they are doing what you want them to do now, Prisoner ?Or is it not enough for you that they have realised you have a point ?  Shall I run over to Carrow Road with a sack-cloth and some ashes ?

I think they should have looked at any interest on it''s merits and judged purely upon those not geographical position.I''m sure they''ve been self flagellating in private for some time now BBB. I''m firm but I''m not an unreasonable person so thanks for the offer but you keep the sack cloth and ashes, winter is upon us and you might need to double up on the sack cloth to keep yourself warm once you realise that the board you''ve backed so vehemently have made a right mess of the club.

As usual its the same old list of problems being touted by the club - with not one ounce of how they aim to solve them. I honestly don''t know what ''the board'' are in place to ''do'' - I really don''t.[:(]

No, and nor do they, hence the question on what strategy they had for the future when asked at the AGM was thrown back to the floor for consumption.

Honestly, this lot couldn''t organise the proverbial.

Doncaster once again waffles about stuff but evades the stark truth. Oh well, just as we knew he would.

I''ve just sat through his 4 minute interview on Canaries World where this question was raised, I thought him vague when he was asked this............so no change there then!   [:D]

Another poster who can''t understand that there is a rather large difference between not wanting Delia hung, drawn and quartered in the market place, and "vehemently" backing the board. If you bother to read Blah''s other posts you will see that he backs change, just like virtually everyone on here.

It''s fair to say that I have been giving the benefit of the doubt to the board in the past.  They have attempted to apply sensible business models in an industry of ridiculous economics.  It has been apparent for quite a while that the only way to progress is to spend the most money on the pitch, and events have turned what seemed like decent long-term financial plans into possible long term losses off the pitch.  The game has become a glorified talent auction with very few notable exceptions, such as Hulls performance this season.  The board themselves have held their hands up, and are seeking investment, as I called for them (not that I expect anyone to remember this) to do 2 seasons ago on here and on the official board.  I would welcome anyone who is willing to invest in the club, whether to work with the current incumbents or to take-over.

I actually, thought you''re older than me.....Just because I sit in the Cathedral Lounge, doesn''t mean I''m older than the average older fan....But then, you don''t get to many games do you? Still, never mind, you can gauge your opinion on the performances - as you gauge your opinion (and age) of me....and continue to be wrong in all counts.[:|]

I don''t have any probs upstairs or downstairs either.....(in all counts). See if you can remember that - after you''ve had your cocoa.

I really can''t see how you can pull rank on the " I go to more games than wot you do so there" issue, because team performances never get a word in edgeways in your posts, in between the incessent degradation of Doomy and the board, as if they needed any help, to go with your complete paranoia / double bluff that everyone who posts in here works for the club / CIA / KGB / secret government of the universe.

You don''t need a season ticket to talk nonsense you know.

..and another thread descends into a slanging match....

Doncaster says:

"Despite much Press speculation about potential new owners over the 12 years of their involvement, to the best of my knowledge Delia and Michael have yet to be made any offer whatsoever to buy their shares. Not from Colin Davey. Not from Giovanni Di Stefano. Not from Peter Cullum. And not from anyone else."

Note ''to the best of my knowledge'', ''yet to be made an offer''.

I could have sworn that in previous columns he said that they had spoken to ''a number'' of people interested in investing in the Club, particularly around the time the Cullum story broke (when he was trying to suggest that Cullum was not the only deal in town).

As he says, surely you can''t have it both ways?

Personally. I think he knows his days are numbered......and I think he''s resigning himself to the fact....
