SuperWesIrishWizard 0 Posted November 4, 2008 Getting rid of Mike Walker? I know it sounds silly, but he was the last person to bring through any kind of talent from the youth team.Darren Kenton, Craig Bellamy and Daryl Russell to name a few of many.Could it be that Ryan Jarvis, Danny Crow, Dean Sinclair, Ian Henderson, Micky Spillane, Chris Martin, Andrew Cave Brown and Joe Lewis would all form the basis of a fantastic young team of exciting and sought after young players under Walker?Maybe, just maybe...... renegade tootsie 0 Posted November 4, 2008 Considering the rumours at the time going around about Delia and Mr Walker, I would suggest no smoke without fire and he had to be moved out...[quote user="SuperWesIrishWizard"]Getting rid of Mike Walker? As to Super Wes'' post, none of them were good enough to be anything other than squad players reagrdless of the manager.

Syteanric 1 Posted November 4, 2008 i do think if Walker had been given the backing that worthington had we would of been a premiership club still...MW may well of retired by now but the structure would be in place for the future.. and there wouldn''t be a hotel in site.jas :)
psychedeliasmith 0 Posted November 4, 2008 No. Those players Walker brought through went on to have decent careers, What have our other youth players done?Ryan Jarvis - Has scored no goals for Leyton Oreient this seasonDanny Crow - Couldn''t get in the Peterborough team and is now playing in the Conference for CambridgeDean Sinclair - Currently on loan at Cheltenham having failed to get a game for CharltonIan Henderson - Looking for a loan move after scoring 0 goals in 25 appearances for Northampton where he has also been voted the team''s worst ever player.Micky Spillane - On loan at Luton who have only won 4 games this season in league 2Chris Martin - On loan at Luton where he has scored 2 goals.Andrew Cave-Brown - Made four appearances for a struggling Leyton Orient side this season.Joe Lewis - The only player who has done anything... komakino 282 Posted November 4, 2008 Bryan Hamilton - stabbed Rioch in the back. ''I can''t believe we''ve got him'' Delia said. That shows how much she knows about football. A manager disliked by Norwich and Ipswich fans alike, yet the board still tried to talk him out of resigning! Unbelievable...
whoareyou? 0 Posted November 4, 2008 Walker''s 2nd stint was a disaster. I will never ever forget going to watch us at West Brom on a cold Tuesday night and see us capitulate to the tune of 5-1 and then on the following Saturday get pasted 6-1 by Port Vale....there was also a 5-1 defeat at Wolves somewhere around then.It was a shame because it did taint a little the great memories from his first time here. gazzathegreat 0 Posted November 4, 2008 Yes, amazingly I went to both of those. What a week as you say. I remember going up to Colney after the WBA game and the players saying they would never concede so many again. They were right, they went one better on Saturday - lol. Happy days. Mike Walker was still a great manager though and my memories of him are not tainted by those results.

Too often we spoil memories of the good times we have had with blame for the present but thankfully time heals wounds. That season, before those two 5-0 home wins, we were the closest we have ever been to the Third Division and that includes the last 2 seasons and that awful last season under Chase. We went into April with just 45 points from 41 games and a God awful goal difference! In the end we finished on what seems to be fast becoming our customary 55 points and well clear of the relegated clubs who were Man.City, Stoke and Reading!! It''s a funny old game! But when we finished 3 points clear of League 1 last season, having spent the majority of the season in the bottom three, we weren''t close at all were we? That was just a figment of my imagination right? Thanks for clearing that one up.
. 0 Posted November 4, 2008 Her first mistake was thinking she could change from blue and white to green and yellow with eventually being rumbled. Then getting shot of Duncan Forbes and his brilliant scouting set-up....then imposing her flim flam "family club" nonsense on carrow Road when the club had already long been a community magnet.Coming here at all was her first mistake...and we''ve all suffered accordingly. Despite our awful start we still got to 55 points before the last game of the season and we had a far superior goal difference even after those top 5-0 home wins. However, I''m not going to get bogged down arguing with you about degrees of failure, let''s just hope we get to 55 points long before April this season.
