The board wouldn''t entertain Cullum, so I suggest that you start with a copy of the Times Rich List some paper and some stamps and beg to all above him on the list.

There are none as so deaf as those that do not want to hear the shouting

You need to read the accounts.  You then need to look at the financial status of other clubs in our division and even the prem.  Debt is common place in football as is running at a financial loss.  If you havent got it you cant spend it.

Well actually yes you can, you can borrow it and worry about it tomorrow.  That in itself invites problems further down the line.

In five years time we may be playing in a league with clubs like Luton and Bournemouth not in existance.  We could see teams like Pompey in administration all becuase of the buy now pay later culture that has hit football.

I would love you to explain what you think a protest against the board will achieve.  Ok Mate, sorry we have been prudent, we will get on to the bank today and borrow £20 million for Glen to spend on players.  We will worry about paying that back tomorrow.  Tomorrow will be the day you start protesting becuase the club is £40m in debt.  Its a no win situation for the current owners who really havent done all that much wrong.

Have already posted this elsewhere, but it seems appropriate to this thread.

Football''s basic problem (or at least that of the clubs who don''t benefit from the Sky jamboree) is that, unlike normal businesses the running costs are always likely to exceed income, beacause the knock on effect of the Premiership continues to push up players wages, agent''s fees etc. As a result clubs aren''t self financing and are therefore dependent on injections of capital from philanthropic owners to be able to compete. Whatever your view of them, the fact is that, without the input from the Turners and Smiths we would be in even deeper crap. The only way forward is to find investors with even deeper pockets. It is a self perpetuating bubble which ,like all bubbles (as Wall Street is currently learning),will eventually burst, but until it does, clubs either have to elect to play the game or be increasingly marginalised.
