Salopian 1 Posted January 1, 2008 Would we want to sign him on a permanent basis? He has not exatcly set the world alight, even given the fact that he was very rusty when he arrived after so many weeks with no football..The ideal, I suppose would be to extend the loan, but Derby would probably not be too keen on this, even if he is not worth much with only six months left on his contract. There are now signs that Drury could play a few games at the end of the season, so do we go for a stop-gap - Lappin, Spillane, Rossi, even Patteson if desperate? The ideal would be loan renewal, but it would be a difficult decsion for Camara if he has a family, and at his age. The next best might be a permanent signing, say 18 months, for £100k. One problem is that there are few good left backs around, and a lot of clubs looking. Rudolph Hucker 0 Posted January 1, 2008 I think Mo has been a great loan, he has shown commitment and I would be happy to see him stay.
colneycanary 0 Posted January 1, 2008 I think camara has done great. He has only made 1 mistake and seems to be quite solid. I would much rather keep him in the team than have Drury back.
Creative Midfielder 2,203 Posted January 1, 2008 Would be great to have both Mo and Drury so we have some competition for the left back spot but would be very surprised if Drury managed to win the shirt back. But if he does then so much the better - will mean that he''s performing better than he has for a long while.
Hog 0 Posted January 1, 2008 I think he has actually been the best (apart from Taylor) loan signing we have made, he has settled in very quickly and performed well.
Block E Buh 0 Posted January 1, 2008 I think he has done an excelent job, more quality for left-sided positions the better! Hope he stays.
Tangible Fixed Assets anyone? 0 Posted January 2, 2008 I hope Camara stays. Solid performer.
Syteanric 1 Posted January 2, 2008 decent player... we need to keep him.. this isnt a "disposable Camara"jas :)

Scottlarock 12 Posted January 2, 2008 Hard working and honest player, the Camara never lies.
Coelho 0 Posted January 2, 2008 Any more Camara/camera jokes? If he gave very honest post-match interviews, would he be a candid Camara?I think he''s been pretty solid, but maybe not as good as some people are making out. He''ll be 33 next summer, so I wouldn''t be looking to sign him permanently. He''ll certainly do fine until the end of the season, especially as he''s now fully integrated into the team, but I''d maybe be looking for a younger player to compete with Drury when he''s fit again. DDD In The Fine City 1 Posted January 2, 2008 I think Camara has been solid, yeah he may have not set the world on fire but he also never stands out for being week in defence or attack, take him out of the team and i think you''ll notice he''s gone, he must stay. Block E Buh 0 Posted January 3, 2008 Jay McEverly (Derby''s regular left back) hobbled off last night, hope this has no effect on Camara''s future at City.
a1canary 0 Posted January 3, 2008 NO NO NO! You may think Mo hasn''t set the world alight but your ''stop-gaps'' are miles behind him. The thing about full backs is that you often don''t notice a good one until he''s gone, especially when they''ve become well established. Drury''s absences and losses of form have conincided with some of our worst defensive performances in recent years, as have the merigo-round situations we had at right back with colin/hughes etc, none of whom were really good enough. Playing Lappin at left back does him no favours at all either and has resulted in him being unfairly judged in my view. No, we need to keep Mo, at least until Drury a) gets match fit, and b) proves he''s still good enough - some of us have begun to wonder on occasions but personally i still think he is good enough. He''s defensively solid at the end of the day, and we can''t afford not to have that in his position.

Canarygeorge 0 Posted January 3, 2008 On Sky they say McEverly has got knee ligament injury which could put him out for the season. Maybe good for Camara, bad for us.Also, the Newcastle serial thug, looks like he''s locked up for the forseeable future. Which might mean Newcastle would want Pattison back as cover.
