Syteanric 1 Posted October 28, 2006 im sick of this "get rid of MLJ" tripe i keep seeing on here!i for one want to know what Justification u all have in offloading him? the fact of the matter is that MLJ has been injured, through no fault of his own, for the past 2 years. He didnt tear his own Hamstring twice on purpose did he?!?!In his 1 and a bit games for us he looked pretty handy, he could dribble he could cross and he was reasonable in the tackle, i think had he of got a run in the team then Jurgen Colin would of been bench warming at best.I for one would like to see MLJ in or aroudn the first team, he has become something of a forgotten man of late and he would be another option for Grant to cover areas that might need work. Also, i dont see this "oh but he''s awlays injured" as a reason to get rid of him.. Supposing we were to get Figo or Fonaldo with their injury problems (im not sayign that MLJ is anywhere near their standard obviously) but the fans would want them to play every week given their high profile.. despite the fact they spend more time on the treatment table than on the pitch and no one would want them released! I feel sorry for MLJ and feel he will be leaving the club shortly.. but i wish him luck and hope he can come good for us.jas :)
Herb 0 Posted October 28, 2006 Agree for the most part Jas, from what I''ve seen of him in his Forest days he is a solid defender who offers a lot more in attack from that position than anyone else at the club at present (though Colin has improved on all fronts this season)Fact is, he has been bloody unlucky. If he can get back to full fitness and challenge for a place it will be credit to him - just the sort of determination we need.A lot of players have quit the game after less time out, lets give him a chance to show us what he can do before writing him off.I suppose the people criticising are the same bunch who wanted Etuhu released on a free after 1 game? alex_ncfc 686 Posted October 28, 2006 Hasn''t MLJ been fully fit for months now though? He''s been playing in pretty much all the reserve games this season, and played in the Kings Lynn game a few weeks back. Why hasn''t he featured on the bench?I''m not in favour of getting rid of him, I think some fans just forget things, such as when a player is out through injury, and think he is just sitting there picking up his wages. Same goes for Thorne, who has had injury problems and been out of the team, so everyone just calls him useless and says he should go, but I''m pretty sure he could do a job for us if he was given a run. JC 0 Posted October 29, 2006 Lets get one thing clear, Etuhu has been PASSABLE. He is looking OK in a bunch of gutless wasters. He would not figure in the Cardiff starting eleven for example. Lets get real about our squad capability. As for MLJ, he is not good enough either. He was adequate at Forest in League One. As for the admiration about him sticking with it and not retiring, if I was picking up £4k a week to ''get fit'' I would stick at it to. These people are not heroes, they are overpayed and underinterested.[quote user="Herb"]Agree for the most part Jas, from what I''ve seen of him in his Forest days he is a solid defender who offers a lot more in attack from that position than anyone else at the club at present (though Colin has improved on all fronts this season)Fact is, he has been bloody unlucky. USAcanary 0 Posted October 29, 2006 I am not sure if anybody knows if he is any good or not?Its a few years on since he played for Forrest, he is older and has had serious injuries. The only clue is that the club would rather play people out of position than include him.He isnt even getting close to the first team which may be an indication of what they are seeing on the training ground and reserve games. Tom NCFC 0 Posted October 29, 2006 I wish the guy all the best of luck but his luck ran out at Norwich before it start. Sorry Mathieu, time for you to free up wage space!

Hartsons Gut 0 Posted October 30, 2006 Give me one good reason why we should keep him?Yes he cant help being injured but wasnt he used in part of a swap deal with holt???? i think that he cant be any better than him, as forrest wouldnt of been so keen to swap him for holt. This club is carrying to many passengers at the moment, Louis-Jean, Fleming, Ashdown, Robinson, Hughes, Mcveigh, Thorne, Safri and Doherty.
Salopian 1 Posted October 30, 2006 Why were Notiingham willing to exchange him for Holt. They presumably didn''t think he had much of a future. As to getting rid of him, presumably he has a contract until the end of the season? When we reach the point where buyiing out his contract costs less than his wages until June, it makes financial sense. Or do people think we could give him away in January? Surely no-one will pay to sign him then, given his injuryn record.
charlies dad 0 Posted October 30, 2006 What are we? a retirement home? worthington has left us with so much dross, we are positively awash with it. I reckon about 10 ''players'' could be kicked out now, either on loan, termination, or free transfer to ne detriment to the playing strength.
