Indy_Bones 444 Posted August 1, 2006 All,I''m personally very happy with the signing of Lee Croft, but i''ve seenthat a number of others seem to have doubts about his ability, so i''vefound a few items from match reports etc about his performances for MCwhen he has played (This is from 5 mins of surfing so not hard to find):From Man City vs Aston Villa (MC win 3-1)"City dominated the first half with Stephen Ireland and Lee Croft, whostarted his first game for the Blues, seeing plenty of action. Croft inparticular gave the hapless Jlloyd Samuel such a torrid time he wassubstituted at the break."From the FA.com"Understandably Dick sticks to pretty much the same squad but makes asignificant addition in the form of Manchester City''s outstanding youngprospect Lee Croft. Lee has already helped toguide Stuart Baxter''s Under-19 side through to the next stage of theirEuropean Championship qualification campaign".From Man City vs Everton (MC win 2-0)"Joey Barton again led from the front, and Lee Croft’s introduction on63 minutes gave the side fresh impetus, a ringing endorsement of thework being put in by the academy staff."From MC Reservers vs Wigan Reserves (MC win 3-2)"Five minutes later Lee Croft saw a great solo effort when he beat threedefenders to edge his way into the box, but Croll pulled of a fine saveto deny Lee"I could keep looking through and bringing more and more info up, but itseems to me that Worthy has played a blinder in getting him to sign andhe''s exactly the sort of player we need, he''s got the desire, havingleft MC to try to guarantee a first team place and assuming injuriesstay away, he could be a key player this year.So let''s give him a bit of support eh?Indy
Northern Canary 0 Posted August 1, 2006 Agreed. It is ridiculous how people are doubting the him before even kicking a ball.
3canaries 0 Posted August 1, 2006 I have a really good friend who is a Man City Fan, he emailed me this morning saying that he really rated Croft and this was a fantastic signing for us. This is definately enough for me to say he''s a very good buy.
Chunky! 0 Posted August 1, 2006 Its an absolute disgrace, he is a good signing, I''ve seen him play for Man City and compared to the other winger''s we''ve been linked with, incredibly good value! I''ve stopped reading these boards regularly mostly because of this kind of attitude towards a player whose only mishap is to have been signed by Worthy!OTBC!Chunky
Carrow89 101 Posted August 1, 2006 It is not Croft they doubt but the usage of him as another stick to attack Worthington and the club with.Given that all other arguments have proved groundless and false this about all that is left to those who have a great dislike of our club. charlies dad 0 Posted August 1, 2006 Fair comment. Lets hope that Croft lives up to the billings in the above post and tears into championship defences from the first minute. I feel he is being penalised for Nigel Worthingtons appalling summer of clangers prior to last season. there is no need to tar this boy with the same brush as Jarrett, Thorne, Louis-Jean Hughes and Colin, unless he starts playing like them. Chip20 69 Posted August 1, 2006 I''m hoping that having some danger on the right wing will distract teams from marking Hux out of the game and vice versa. If the wingers are dragging the other side''s players out of position it might help our midfielders do their job more effectively too. Two pacy wingers could give the defence more option than to hoof as well. I live in hope.
london Canary 0 Posted August 1, 2006 one body can say either way untill he has played at least a few games, i think he is a good buy and will come good. We.ve bought a player with a future and some prospects for a change.
We need a Manager 0 Posted August 1, 2006 Some people do talk nonsense , if Worthless the clown is doing such a great job why are we a mid table championship side ??????? Sacked before November and good riddance to bad rubbish. As for fatso Croft ..we will see.
allways travelling 0 Posted August 1, 2006 Fans coming on here with negative opinions about croft before he has kicked a ball for us in my opinion is sad.
Citizen Journalist Foghorn 0 Posted August 1, 2006 I think the balance and pace he will bring to the side will be extremely effective. He doesnt have to be a world beater, I think he will be superb for us.
Tom NCFC 0 Posted August 1, 2006
Agreed. It is ridiculous how people are doubting the him before even kicking a ball.
Totally agree, I can''t see why they critise the signing of Croft, He''s young, He looked good at Man City, Do these people not understand that Worthy has a budget to run from. This isn''t LMA Manager, it''s real life.

Then he''ll return to the Premiership a better player when we''re promoted :)(awaits the venom-filled diatribes from the moaners....!)

Indy_Bones 444 Posted August 2, 2006 It''s all WNAM seems to do on these boards (Took me less than a week to notice)Endlessley criticises every aspect of the club from Board, to Manager,to Players, and even to new signings with insulting comments abouttheir body mass.Sorry but this is not only pretty pathetic from a need of having toreally insult the players, but completely negative and certainly notindicative of a supporter who wants the club to do well.I appreciate many fans want Worthy Out, fair enough, they''re entitledto voice their opinions on this, but to simply respond to almost everypost, regardless of content, in order to simply post negative commentsis going too far, for god''s sake give some real support to the CLUB.And please give new signings a fair chance in our colours before totally slating them for no apparent reason.
