I suppose this is a derby of sorts and, if memory serves, cupping is not unheard of in a derby.

Talking to my long term Wimbledon supporting boss about it. He's not fussed and probably won't go. He says most old Wimbledon fans are the same and that it's franchise who are trying to make it a rivalry. They way he describes it was like when Lambert went back to Colchester and their fans suddenly decided to hate us!

Sounds sensible: the old WSC approach of just behaving as if they don't exist. Probably should have taken this approach myself!

Never much cared for the old Wimbledon but always got the community intensity of it and admire the fightback by the phoenix club, which makes the tie still appealing to this outsider. Still love the Cup, even if it has been devalued down the years.
