Festive cryptic

Recommended Posts

Easy one suited to alcohol fuelled minds.

Contrived and my last, as it seems I'm not cut out for doing these puzzles:

"Sutton to a t and first part of young Mount along with special time for horse following ladies at Cheltenham leading to festive period."

(9, 3.)

It's Christmas Day today - do we really need to be doing this sort of thing? 😉

Perhaps you are right. Harmless though. How did you arrive at the answer, btw?

Chris Sutton to a t. = Christ.

First part of Mason Mount, with horsey connection, being Ladies Day at Cheltenham.

Quite proud of that off the cuff effort, as pathetically easy as it was.

The second is proving tougher.

That's because I can't spell!  Was supposed to be Kieron Dowell (anag of oinker, then 'do well' for succeed), but it's Kieran, not Kieron. Damn.
