The SNP really are a bunch of corrupt grifters, just as bad as the Tories but just with a real good PR team.

Ā

Don't worry though, I'm sure they will start screaming about England or westminster in order to distract Scotland from their ever increasing list of scandals

Scottish Greens leave Goverment Coalition meaning SNP now have a minority(not by much) goverment. Greens Co-Leader Patrick Harvey an odious person previously said he'd quit if this happened. All is not lost as it's likely the Greens will support the SNP on a policy by policy basis and prevent the others from bringing the SNP down.

Legacy of them in Goverment. Heavily involved in scrapping peak train fares in Scotland. Or at least for half the year so far.

Does the SNP have much time left in government?Ā

Ross to lodge a vote of no confidence in Humza Yousafpublished at 12:17

Ā

Scottish Tory leader Ross goes on to say: "I can confirm today, on behalf of the Scottish Conservatives, I am lodging a vote of no confidence in Humza Yousaf."

Ross needs to be careful, if he forces an election for Holyrood seats he could up with fewer MSP's than he hasĀ now.

Just catching up. With what seemed to be the Greens about to break up with the SNP the later decides to get in first and ditch the Greens.Ā  Instantly a vote of no confidence is tabled and the Greens must be pissed because they've said they will vote against the SNP. Wow. Meaning they have 64 votes to 63 with this article pointing out the vote hinces therefore on a single MSP. The bat **** mental Alba MSP Ash Regan.

Alex Salmond(Alba leader) said Mr Yousaf had made Ms Regan the "most powerful MSP in the Scottish Parliament".

Sunak watches.

Just a wee aside - PR in action.

Pressure building as the FM says no to Alba and rumours are he's about to resign rather than face defeat at the hands of everyone else.

Who do you think is next in line for the leadership then?

William Wallace as played by Mel Gibson. Or Swinney as short-term, safe pair of hands Caretaker.

I don't know tbh it feels like pulling random names from the cabinet really. One candidate from the last leadership contest defected to Alba, the other(Kate Forbes) was probably ok except she said she would not have voted for Gay marriage after seeming a bit extreme. She was also against the Green party policies and they need the Greens for a majority unless you want the Lib Dems.

All the old guard have stepped back plus could be associated with the current police investigation.

Mhairi Black who is unlikely to go for it and currently an MP is who the people want though.

Would complete the SNP's move into a deeply unserious party if she was in charge.

Great at making rousing speeches but no real actual depth.

Kate Forbes probably thinks fossils were put on Earth by God to test our faith (to paraphrase Bill Hicks). šŸ˜…

12pm for a press conference

Coral is offering these odds

1-2 Kate Forbes (former leadership challenger and former financial secretary)

2-1 Neil Gray (NHS recovery, health and social care secretary)

7-2 MĆ iri McAllan (wellbeing economy, net zero and energy secretary)

5-1 Jenny Gilruth (education and skills secretary)

6-1 Ash Regan (not even in the SNP anymore ā€“ she is now an Alba MSP)

8-1 John Swinney (former first minister)

16-1 Fergus Ewing (rural economy and tourist secretary)

He's off siting the need to keep the alliance in place and that someone else can do this. He'll stay on till somone wins a leadership contest.

Heā€™s off because he canā€™t count to 65 and realise he needed the Greens. For some unknown reason kicking them out of government but expecting them toĀ vote to support all government policy wasnā€™t too appealing to them.

Most of his problems were inherited from Sturgeon admittedly, even if he was useless. She hitched a lift in the getaway campervan just in timeĀ

It will be John Swinney, luckily saw Kiwiā€™s post and managed to get 4/1 before he shifted to 1/4. On top of hard hitters supporting him, the greens have more or less said, it needs to be him or they will not be working with them again.
