Five reasons Norwich City could be keeping Dean Smith

Recommended Posts

  1. Webber won't admit he royally screwed up his appointment
  2. Webber won't admit his transfers in summer 2020 were awful
  3. Webber won't admit his transfers in summer 2021 were awful
  4. Webber won't admit that he prioritised protecting his reputation
  5. Webber won't admit to being culpable for us probably being too skint to get rid of "Deano"

I'm sensing that you feel this is Webbers fault

Threw Farke and the club under a bus to try and protect his reputation, as his contract was nearly up and his dreams of going to a massive European club were rapidly diminishing. Then bugged off up a mountain when it all came home to roost.

Reading the article, if the club is so keen on statistics, why don't they tell us where we will finish at the end of the season right now?

Outside of their stated goal of "top 26", the way things are going

Remember all this ****.

Responsibility rests with me

Stuart Webber: I appreciate that the supporters want someone to blame. What I’d ask is blame me, no problem. I’m in charge of the football strategy, I make the calls.

Every player here, I’ve either signed or given a new contract to. Every member of staff, the same. If you want a scapegoat, then you’re looking at him. I’ve got no problem with that.

It’s never nice when you get relegated, but what’s important now is that we don’t dwell on it. We haven’t got time to cry; no-one’s died here. What’s happened is that reality’s hit. We got relegated from a league we should have got relegated from.

We’ve gone to war without a gun and, guess what, we got shot. Now what we need is to make sure that if we ever get the opportunity to get back, we’re fully armed and ready to fight back.

This is what I meant in a previous thread where I said something happened to Webber that fundamentally altered him. There is no way on God's green earth the current iteration of Webber would, or even could, say something like this.

HUBRIS,  HUBRIS ,is a dangerous cocktail of overconfidence, overambition, arrogance and pride fuelled by power and success. When found alongside contempt for the advice and criticism of others, hubris causes leaders to significantly overreach themselves, taking risky and reckless decisions with harmful, sometimes catastrophic consequences for themselves, their organisations, institutions, and even for society. Given the economic, social, and geopolitical damage that can ensue, we should learn to recognise the signs of how hubristic leaders talk and act, and how to mitigate the consequences.

Indeed. All these mountain climbers are an environmental nuisance. Pure and simple.

Good point. I need to change my opinion to reflect it's capacity to promote eco-diversity away from **** sapiens.

That's an old quote but just goes to show that if you stay at a place long enough you will eventually do something wrong.

To be fair to Webber I think he's doing a lot way above his pay grade and it's impacting the quality of work that is more his bread and butter. The whole ownership and leadership piece really has to be sorted very soon and Webber gets back to the football strategy either at NCFC or elsewhere.
