Even if we get shot of Smith the new manager will need time to change things. We've lost too many matches to worry about the autos and even when we win we play ****.

Best we can hope for is play-offs and that we really are a different animal come May.

We could sack our manager, replace him with someone *we hope* is competent and the gap could increase. Any change is a gamble that they will be better than Smith, it’s not guaranteed. Especially as we’re probably fishing in a smaller pool halfway through the season.

I really don’t see what’s funny in my post - despite feeling the pinch along with everyone else, I’m willing to bet £50 to csf that the current 1-2 doesn’t finish as it stands.  Anyone willing to take that up if they are so certain?

Not sorted, but it is looking increasingly unlikely we will be anywhere near the top two. 12 points now is a lot to overhaul given our stuttering form. Play-offs at best, and even that feels like it would be a good achievement given the atmosphere at the moment

I don’t think anyone here thinks we’re showing any kind of form that would see us challenge the top two.  But the idea that it’s all done and dusted with half a season to go is ridiculous.

True, but we're not going to get relegated, and he's looking very unlikely to take us up, so why not roll the dice?

EDIT: Although I think the problems run much deeper (or perhaps I should say 'higher') and I feel sorry for any manager who comes in here at the moment.
