Sub Standard squad assemled under Webberlution

Recommended Posts

All the talk is of Dean Smiths inability to coach these players.

However we need to realise the players he is working with are not of the quality to be coached.  Thanks to Webber and nearly £50m of wasted money this squad is poor.  Not since the unearthing of Buendia and Pukki have we seen any real quality added to the squad.  A misfiring defence riddled with errors has not been improved in the last four years, Webber not interested apparently.  Midfield missing any quality, some promising youngsters but South American flair miissing currently, Webber again culpable.  Josh Sargent apart up front we are left with the despondent Pukki to struggle manfully, Webber has never looked to replace Pukki.

All our malaise can be left at the Webber door, his shine has tarnished big time.  Can he get better as Sporting Director recent events seem to indicate negatively.

Not saying Smith safe in his job but we need to wake up to the idea that these players are just not up to it.  Webber a hostage to fortune by Delianomics but should have been gone by now, remember Huddersfield.  Not interested in Chelsea apparently, shame we could do with their help perhaps they have seen what they don't like.

Whatever the standard I am confident we will not get relegated.

Too many millions thrown away on poor foreign players , in the hope of finding another Emi. Would be better off buying the best of the championship and League 1 .

The latest accounts say all that is to be said. We have pìssed a lot of money up the wall. You can't argue that point with those accounts, like you cannot argue that the person responsible should either be taken to task or as is normal in the football world be sacked.

I had always given Webber the benefit of doubt, but the latest accounts and especially the current position on the field mean Webber has to go. But there is no corporate governance in place to ensure this happens, just friendly board level chats to preserve the status quo.🤦

100% Shef. I never forget this interview. It sends shivers down my spine.

When I spoke to them, they convinced me and said we’ll let you do whatever you want.

“We haven’t got the money to support it but you can do what you want and that excited me greatly because I love building stuff, I love building buildings.

“I love building culture but I love it doing it without interference from people who don’t know because what happens in football a lot is, people interfere who haven’t got a clue.

“When someone gets a bit of success as an owner or a chairman, they start to think they do know and start to go, ‘oh I think we should do this’.

“Whereas here, Delia and Michael really convinced me, or I believed should I say that these guys would let US do whatever we wanted and that was exciting.”

As in us. ( THIS IS HOW FAR WE HAVE COME).

feels backward and a little bit unprofessional .🤨

The full takeover can’t come quick enough. David Brent 11 is accountable only to himself.

It is both.

Poor recruitment, lopsided squad.

And poor managerial team who haven't got any good ideas and can't motivate a group.

I think change should entail Webber walking with Smith.

Neil Adams interim Sporting Director, let him recruit the next manager, couple of loans in January perhaps, if come the end of the season it feels like he's done a good job of that then let him stay on in the job and do the transfer business.

Lets face it, cloth cutting is needed and promoting from within is cheaper than headhunting somebody.

This team is not really any worse than the last time we won the league, we now have some decent cover in midfield, so really we only lack Buendia. The rest of the team is virtually the same kind of standard really.

Whilst I agree there has been some uninspiring signings, in my opinion there is still a squad of players which should be playing a hell of a lot better than what we are seeing. Like a lot of Norwich supporters I don’t want us to be sacking managers without giving them a fair amount of time, but Dean Smith’s teams haven’t inspired me & I’m guessing they aren’t inspiring the squad either. Me personally, I’ve seen enough of his teams massively underperforming & he needs to be shown the door.

for me this squad is better than the performances.    The formation and tactics are not  getting the best from this squad.

The midfield should be regularly serving up chances for Pukki/Sargent. The fact it isn't comes down to a lack of or poor coaching of how to attack.
