Might be a lack of quality centre-halves. England certainly doesn't have many, that's for sure. It's also probably why Southgate tends to have more cautious midfields.

I'm ok with Maguire starting as he consistently looks like a much better player for England than he does for Man U and Southgate clearly trusts him.

First half dismissals for a second yellow are very rare and I have only ever seen it happen once before, by watching Final Score where all the dismissals come up on the vidi-printer

Pointless friendly just to get bums on seats and make money.

Poland and Portugal both qualified as well, two teams both obsessed with trying to get the ball to a certain player and play such boring one dimension football, followed by a bunch of teams who have qualified before. I hate it when every team who has qualified isn’t a debutant. It’s one of the many reasons South Africa 2010 was so bland.

Qatar may be debutants, but they wouldn’t have qualified if they were hosts. I can see every team that qualified tonight, including Canada from yesterday being group stage casualties.

Being played in the winter as well. This tournament is going to suck.
