Stuff you've thought of but it's too dull for conversation

Recommended Posts

Top skip tip. Put stuff that is too good to throw out, but you want to move on, in front of the skip and it will disappear.👍

*I have tried charity shops but they either don't have the space or simply don't want it.

How can the common theory about birds evolving from dinosaurs be right if the dinosaurs went extinct?

Well, it was due. Some clueless sort in the Times, a demographer called Paul Morland, has proposed the hair-brained, illogical idea that the childfree should be taxed more.

Er, maybe the demographer would be best advised by checking out OECD figures on tax wedges? He'd soon realise he's talking unfiltered dross.

Sierra Leone FA to investigate 95-0 and 91-1 wins in second-tier matches.

I saw this yesterday lol, I think the 1/2 time scores were 2-0 and 7-1. If only those 2 players had not been sent off lol

95-0 is achievable over 90 minutes. Over 45 minutes and I feel they are taking the mick.

Is there some sort of actor shortage in America? It seems that every second or third actor in US series I watch turns out to be British.

Anne Robinson, Countdown today, looks like she's got one of those collars on that stop your dog from barking.

Am I going to have to pay attention to the adverts now?

Sorry mate, I was overly vague. They're for Tena and the like.

Why has the latest phone update made it really easy for it to start to try and call the emergency services by accident? The last number I want to accidentally call yet there's no option to remove that feature either apart from downloading another lock screen app.

British tastes are weird.

Solid well built, dining table. Nobody wants.

Antique, hand crafted and inlaid salon chair. Nobody wants.

Cheap, self assembled Argos chest of drawers. Gone in a few hours.

No, I tried selling or passing on to family the antique chair, to no avail, so I am keeping it. It may come back into fashion one day. The table went in the skip sadly. Hopefully the guys emptying it will take it home. The Argos stuff went while I was at work.

I believe a certain Mr. O. Hernandez might have been the reason for that.

Although speaking about taste in furniture, it's dawned on me I have five solid oak pieces in my living space. Bookcase, computer desk, telephone table (well, it's a tallboy, but I use it as my telephone table), coffee table, and small sideboard.

Sounds alright to me. The piece of furniture I would love is a solid, large CD/vinyl storage and display case. They're all sort of jumbled up and hard to get at at the moment.

I waited months for the tallboy, but I did order it during the pandemic. Think I waited about seven months in total.

They seem to cater for one or the other, but a combi one would be a great idea.

I’ve found homeless/family rehoming charities are good for taking stuff that’s still decent. It depends what’s round your way though.

I tried Freecycle which started out promising but then I started getting faffed about and quickly became disheartened. I'm not sure if it's the same your way but the local charities here have too much stuff at the moment (a hangover from the covid?) and don't want to take much except smaller items.

That is good for a few minutes procrastination. I'm pretty sure that some of those photos are not chronologically correct though!
