Barely a week in the Swansea job (if that) and he has already raided the depths of Suffolk and poached Matt Gill as his assistant and now gone bakc to take their best youth product.

Legend.

😉 best remaining youth product. (We took the best one a few weeks back).

Anyone else feel that Martin might end up being our manager at some point, or would that be a little too obvous and cliche?

I think Gill left Ipswich when cook was appointed,  went to MKDons, and is now back with Russell at Swansea. Dont see he was raided from town to join Swansea  / Russ as he had already left.

Martin a bit different to Warne- Warne was always a poor fit due to being a bit of a long ball, kick 'em up in the air merchant.

Martin by all reports plays a much more attractive style of football that may fit more into our philosophy.

I would hope if and when Farke departs Norwich that we have better and more ambitious options lined up than bloody Russell Martin. Thought we'd got away from the "but he used to play for us so let's make him manager" nonsense.

Martin has rather 'blotted his copy book' with the unseemly haste he dumped MKdons, given he wasn;t even first choice and his appointment snacked of desperation on the part of Swansea.

Downes is little more than other of the binners 'angry young men - who deservedly attracts yellow/red cards like a turd attracts flies.  I supect that given Cook has got rid of almost all the 'strongest suad in the league' Gill has suggested they can sign a bargain.

The money will be welcome at poorman road, as the signings have certainly not lived up to the farmhands earlier delusions. There have not been the multi million pound signings. Todays hopeful is another out of contract freebie.

The problem the paupers face is that they are living on borrowed money (again?), and will have to stump up for the interest as a minimum. And whatever old guff these suffolk simpletons have filled their silly heads with, there is not money to be made in the Championship

The only serious money, as with us, is the sale of players. Something Evans persisted with, but failed. It will be interesting to see whether the new lot can succeed - and how much has been the net spend come Aug 30th.
