Man City play a certain way and not every player is a good fit, I'm not convinced by the purchase of Hugill and think Grant Holt would also have struggled with Farke ball. I do wonder how much input the likes of Pep has in recruitment or whether coaches today are basically just given players and told 'make it work'.

Whoever's doing the recruitment, sometimes even the best can get it wrong. But if anyone can shape and improve a player, Pep can ....... and maybe our Daniel. 😁

Jacob getting pelters from some fans this morning too, yet Brucie is said to rate them both. As well as a bit of a dip in form, a successful change of playing system suited others better than Jamal so he has to work his way back in .... after all the product was fully functioning when despatched to Tyneside 😁

Theres a reason we sold Lewis for £15m and a reason theres no way on earth Aarons wouldve gone for that price.

I already see Giannoulis is a better player than Lewis. Lewis never took his man on and went round the outside, the amount of times he went up against the opposite full back and turned back and passed the ball backwards. Lewis is a championship defender. I don't think he ever used his right foot.

Jamal's biggest assets were physical, like a left back Placheta. At PL level however those attributes are a lot closer to average and he doesn't have Farke behind him to keep the faith.

Similar to Jacob Murphy in that another year or two with us probably would have been better for their development, but they wanted to go and someone wanted to pay. Hope Lewis kicks on, all the same.

Can't disagree with this and agree Dimi has already shown to be a much better prospect. Replacing Jamal with Dimi and Godfrey with Gibson was excellent business all round! I liked Jamal though, so wish he had got a chance to develop a bit more or gone to a better club. But those two transfers funded another championship title and meant we got to keep the important players so all good for the club!
