keelansgrandad 6,679 Posted March 12, 2019 I don't know what to make of it really. One voice tells me it was a clever ploy. But another is telling me it is tantamount to cheating in some way. Luckily for Notts County, struggling as the oldest League club, to hold onto their current status, it didn't affect the scoreline.
One Flew Over... 33 Posted March 12, 2019 (edited) No shout from a defender or the crowd? Not just the goal keeper at fault. Reminds me of the Ronaldinho assist from an "offside" position for a throw-in - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=twTpln5mGKg Edited March 12, 2019 by One Flew Over... It's Character Forming 1,165 Posted March 13, 2019 I remember this happening in the 70s or early 80s in the First division when Kenny Dalglish came from behind to nick the ball from the West Brom keeper (who’d just put the ball down) and Dalglish scored. It’s absolutely basic defending for a GK to check behind you before putting the ball on the ground and the attacker is entitled to try to win the ball same as anywhere else. amazing to see though 😏
Van wink 2,994 Posted March 13, 2019 The Johnson goal is here, number 4. http://wearegoingup.co.uk/2011/12/14/toppos-top-tens-goalkeeper-errors/ Greeno always had a little look behind after that, surprised that isnt part of how keepers are coached these days. Woodman 92 Posted March 13, 2019 Just kick it out of your hands - there's no need to roll it out in front of you.
It's Character Forming 1,165 Posted March 13, 2019 It's interesting that most GKs do roll it out to kick it, given the choice.
cornish sam 962 Posted March 16, 2019 https://www.skysports.com/watch/video/11667559/bolton-keeper-blunder Poor remi, at least he did it on a day they conceded so many, this season he has been their standout player by all accounts....
Thirsty Lizard 3,183 Posted March 16, 2019 The really funny thing about this is that Remi DOES look behind him! He looked directly behind him, but not to the side.
Aggy 766 Posted March 16, 2019 He looks twice - the second time he looks back towards the goal. The first time though, he seems to look straight at the opposition player. Almost as if the kits are very similar and he thinks it’s one of his own players.
