I don't know what to make of it really. One voice tells me it was a clever ploy. But another is telling me it is tantamount to cheating in some way.

Luckily for Notts County, struggling as the oldest League club, to hold onto their current status, it didn't affect the scoreline.

I remember this happening in the 70s or early 80s in the First division when Kenny Dalglish came from behind to nick the ball from the West Brom keeper (who’d just put the ball down) and Dalglish scored. It’s absolutely basic defending for a GK to check behind you before putting the ball on the ground and the attacker is entitled to try to win the ball same as anywhere else.

He looks twice - the second time he looks back towards the goal. The first time though, he seems to look straight at the opposition player. Almost as if the kits are very similar and he thinks it’s one of his own players.
