dylanisabaddog 5,014 Posted November 3, 2018 Just watched the highlights on Sky. Yes it was an awful penalty but what was the referee thinking of? Surely there is a clue when the goalkeeper ends up laying on the ball 3 yards off his line! Doesn't change the fact that we need to sort out the penalty situation. kick it off 1,956 Posted November 3, 2018 Was such a poor pen that the keeper could have been sitting down facing backwards when it was taken and he'd still have saved it. Cant make excuses for it, was just a terrible pen.
ricardo 7,406 Posted November 3, 2018 He almost had time to change his gloves before the ball got there.
hogesar 9,760 Posted November 3, 2018 Maybe Rhodes actually IS our best pen taker option! In all seriousness Leitner would seem an obvious choice from a technical point of view, Buendia strikes me as a good option too.
Fiery Zac 1,066 Posted November 4, 2018 Stiepermann or Pukki Lets stop trying to be too clever and just wallop the ball into the net! Show them any one of Holtys pens (except vs Southampton)
AJ 1,231 Posted November 4, 2018 (edited) It was a very poor pen, but yes the keeper was miles off his line, but don't think that would have made much difference really. Vrancic has been alright with penalties before yesterday, luckily it had no bearing on the result but in other games it will, needs to be sorted Edited November 4, 2018 by AJ
Pyro Pete 1,925 Posted November 4, 2018 One for the coaching staff to resolve. You need someone who is confident with good technique, who can hit more than one type of penalty. Considering we now have a number of good technical players, there should be a few who can be coached into being good penalty takers.
CANARYKING 644 Posted November 4, 2018 Who is next on the list ? Has Pukki ever taken one ?
SwindonCanary 455 Posted November 4, 2018 I always like a penalty taker to who does not side foot their shots. The harder the better !

Capt. Pants 4,285 Posted November 4, 2018 In all seriousness it's something that needs to be addressed. If a play off semi/final were to go to pens, I wouldn't fancy our chances.
