Your messiah, Joe Biden, was president when the US pulled out of Afghanistan. He left billions of dollars of arms in the hands of the Taliban, not to mention the US and allied citizens. I've explained this to you before, but you don't want to listen, it's why you don't answer me you think by ignoring it makes you intelligent, but it just shows how weak your argument is old boy. So go ahead, don't respond. Were you aware of the American weapons left behind in Syria when Trump pulled the plug on operations there overnight? Even more were abandoned when Trump pulled the plug on CIA operations to arm Syrian rebels. Trump's actions were totally counter to US strategic interests. He gave Russia a massive strategic gift when he did that, along with alienating Kurdish allies in the region and leaving weapons behind in the absurdly short timescale. As for Afghanistan, the terms were negotiated before Biden assumed control. Biden's hands were tied; there's no way he could have persuaded other NATO allies to go along with staying in once it was agreed, plus if he'd have stayed the Republicans would have used it as a simplistic stick to beat the new administration with on their stupid line that Trump had brought 'peace for America' rather than just appeasing Putin, which it looks like and is further reinforced by the way kept all his personal conversations with Putin completely private and off the record. A lot of American conservatives and those on the right seem to take the view of "Well Russia is just a real proper conservative country that protects it's people and has none of that gay nonsense either we should be friends to counter China" Which is rather similar to the people who are all "Well we should have allied with the nazis rather than going to war the commies who were the real enemies we should have fought" Edited April 21 by cambridgeshire canary

And neither Trump nor Biden come out of it with any credit. https://www.factcheck.org/2021/08/timeline-of-u-s-withdrawal-from-afghanistan/ Indeed! Sadly by the time Biden had taken over there US forces were reduced so low there wasn't the remotest chance of preventing a messy exit. At least he delayed withdrawal from the original May date that Trump had guaranteed, giving a few more Afghanis extra time to escape. It was still a very awful episode in US history. What isn't in question is that it was Trump's shameful "America First" unconditional surrender to the Taliban that caused this debacle.

Did he "drain the swamp" like he said he would or did he make it more swampy than ever? What Trump says he will do and what Trump will do are two very different things. A very small sample I admit but I speak to one person in the USA regularly who still thinks Biden will win because there are so many undecided people at the moment. He also says he is afraid of a narrow Biden victory because Trump supporters would burn down the country. He says that having lived there for 40 years, America feels more divided then ever. Why on earth would anyone take the risk? He did many things while in power, not the least of which was to praise white supremacists and make racism mainstream again. He would undoubtedly be a threat to world order, abandoning NATO and the Ukraine.
