Mooney 0 Posted August 15, 2015 Is he a strong enough centre back for Prem? Bassong certainly is!Will there be a higher quality specialist Centre Back who will come in?If we get a new CB will Martin start at RB? Would Whittaker than drop to bench with Olson at LB? Some suggestions for CB signing:1. Mamadou Sakho - Liverpool2. Daniel Ayala - Boro3. Curtis Davis - Hull4. Luke Chambers - Ipswich5. Shkodran Mustafi - ValenciaWhat do you think guys? lake district canary 4,831 Posted August 15, 2015 Judging from his performance today, goal scoring and result, not to mention the plaudits he was getting from commentators today - he should be one of the first names on the teamsheet.
Mooney 0 Posted August 15, 2015 If he can play like he did today against Stoke, Southampton and Liverpool then fair enough.......I''d love that.... BUT....
King Klose 0 Posted August 15, 2015 I assume this is a wind up.
nutty nigel 7,902 Posted August 15, 2015 Luke Chambers?Back in yer box binboy...
King Klose 0 Posted August 15, 2015 I guess we''ll never find out if the binners defenders are strong enough for the Prem.
Daz Sparks 1,558 Posted August 15, 2015 The same Ayala that was left on his ar$e at Wembley.... no thanks.
Mooney 0 Posted August 15, 2015 What I want to know is over the course of the season does everyone think he be good enough for us to keep out the best teams? He''s certainly be excellent so far. If Alex Neil is going to bring in another CB (Like he''s said) who will it be and what will this mean for our starting defence?
King Klose 0 Posted August 15, 2015 Id rather have Roberto Ayala.

nutty nigel 7,902 Posted August 15, 2015 When did he says?
Mooney 0 Posted August 15, 2015 You''d assume with two options for wide defenders he''ll be looking at add a CB as the "more defensive options" he wants...Will Martin be staying at CB or will he move to RB by end of Sept? What do you think guys?
Herman 11,136 Posted August 15, 2015 Well after today (and quite a few games now) Whittaker won''t be moving from RB position.
AJ 1,359 Posted August 15, 2015 Wisdom has been brought in to keep players on their toes. If Whittaker performs like he did today the position is his. Like martin he plays there internationally. More than good enough!
Grant Holts Moustache 113 Posted August 15, 2015 Alex Neil said he wanted a new centre back? When was that Mooney?I''m happy with Martin, he had a decent game and has been consistently a good player for us for a long while. The quality we need to improve on him would cost and would rather see that money spent on a new striker.
nutty nigel 7,902 Posted August 15, 2015 He won''t get in the team at right back. Whits is too good. Unless of course the binners have a right back we could sign along with Luke Chambers :$
Fiery Zac 1,066 Posted August 15, 2015 Why is this question still being asked? Martin is a CB whether fans like it or not. He wants to be, AN is picking him as a CB in the Premier League and he''s playing well as a CB. Time will tell if he is good enough to keep his place but stop the debate, he''s a CB.Oh, and Whittakers our RB, and doing a bloody good job so the questions irrelevant anyway. Grant Holts Moustache 113 Posted August 15, 2015 Luke Chambers plays at right back for Ipswich. He''s not their first choice centre back unless that''s changed this season. .
Mooney 0 Posted August 15, 2015 Guess that settles my question. Would you say first choice team next game will be the following?RuddyWhittaker Bassong Martin OlssonBrady Tettey Howson RedmondHoolahanJeromeWHATS GOING TO HAPPEN WHEN WE BUY A NEW STRIKER AND MULUMBU COMES BACK!! My head will probably fall off!!
ron obvious 1,711 Posted August 15, 2015 Mulumbu will probably rotate places with Tettey. His knees are presumably still dodgy & Alex is on course for suspension (via yellow cards) at a rate of knots.
Mooney 0 Posted August 16, 2015 So.... Martin is actually our long term bossman centre back! This is exciting!Tettey is definitely releasing the ball a lot quicker. I found that was a huge difference between when we lost to Boro at home and then beat them in the final.
