1. bit of strange statement that mate.   How many stikers from teams outside of the top six, do you think would get into the top six?    Obviously none because the stikers in the top 6 are better than those outside it, for the most part anyway.  Really don''t understand what point you were trying to prove by comparing Sven and Leon to the likes of Henry and Rooney!!!
2. Although I don''t like to, I actually agree with this point.  It is a sad, sad fact that cheating has become a massive part of the game.  Kids under the age of 10 are already diving for fouls and pulling on shirts etc, etc, so this will never be stamped out.  Therefore Norwich need to adapt too.
3. here bloody here If only supporters left the managing to the managers, the finances to the directors and the supporting to the................well supporters  Nah, I know we all want to have an opinion and that''s whats its all about at the end of the day, but when the same old topics go and on, you have to stop and think sometimes.......what''s the point?   Leave it to the men that are paid to make the decisions, get your shirt on and sing your bloody head off, On the ball city...........
4. Actually XXL16 most companies over here do give staff a 3 month probation period to settle in.  Mind you I think they can sack you if you are really bad at any time, but Helveg hasn''t been really bad in my opinion.  I think expectations are still a little high on certain players.
5. a1 - sorry for being hypersensitive Shaun -  I never said Eddy was bad, I said ordinary.  He was quality for 3 games when he got his chance and had deserved his place ever since, but Saturday all the back 4 looked pretty ordinary in my opinion.   When that happens as a manager you either give them a strong talking too, or introduce some competition for places by giving someone else a chance, pretty simple really and exactly what Nigel did when Helveg looked pretty ordinary. Dropping Fleming is only suggested as we have a lack of height at the back and look pretty vunerable on set pieces and crosses, the Doc deserves a chance in his favoured position, would provide some much needed height and out of Charlton and Flem, Charlton is playing the best, again in my opinion.   If the Doc doesn''t bring anything extra to the defence then I would have no doubt in bringing Flem straight back in.   Having thought about it, it would also be a bad idea to change two defenders at once as they are supposedly getting an understanding, althougth Kilbanes goal put serious doubt on that.
6.
You really haven''t thought this through have you? Ok, so we spend £5m on a striker...does that guarantee we stay up? Of course it doesn''t. If we spend £5m on a striker, and we go down, we''re left wel...
Absolutely spot on Campbell. I can''t beleive after a 10 pager started by Wiz entitled I feel sorry for Nigel, that this has been started all over again on another thread.   DD why? Wiz - Rose tinted glasses - I am afraid to say that it is you that wears them.  We have been in the Premiership for 5 minutes and you want the board to spend £5M on one player that you think will keep us in the Premiership.  None of your posts have given exmaples of who this player is.   All of your posts assume that there is a player out there that a) wants to come to Norwich b) can score goals in the premiership even if he isn''t supplied with any service, c) we can afford his wages, d) won''t get injured and e) he costs £5M or less.  If it happens and we go down you and everyone else will be on here moaning about what a state NCFC is in financially.  The £5M player will have left us and we will struggle to get back up. Go down financially stronger and we stand a much better chance than Leeds, Wolves and Sunderland do at bouncing back.  We have been over this.   All the examples of struggling ex premiership clubs you guys keep coming up with are the ones that spent loads of money and took the gamble that you are all crying out for, wake up for goodness sake. On the flipside, if we spend it and it proves good, I will say well done
7. exactly, give them a go - Helveg, Doc, Charlton, Drury
8. Helveg was playing with some pretty poor partners on Saturday, yet he is getting all the criticism as usual.   Holt has been giving the ball away all season long in his regular position.  Francis plays a good 45 minutes at some stage in most games in his regular position.   Helveg plays out of position for 45 minutes and as usual gets a slating.   Correct me if I am wrong, but he has only had 2 proper starts right and one of those was against Ryan Giggs and the other is out of his normal position.   Stick him on the right wing with Jonson and Leon up front and Hux on the left and I bet you will see a decent Norwich. Stop slating players after a few appearances in varying positions.  He is a quality player that needs to adapt to the style/poor ability of the players he is playing with and vice versa.
9. I made the point about lots of goals being conceded on another thread where everyone was bigging up our defenders.  I was shot down in flames, now I am glad someone else has noticed the same thing.   The back four do look pretty unorganised when teams break against.  Okay I have only seen the TV games and listened to the rest on the radio, plus 50 minutes highlights on SKY.   I thought Green didn''t look as sharp either.  Helveg definitely needs a proper chance.  He hasn''t played RB since facing Giggs, one of the Worlds best left wingers, and it was just after a heavy international schedule.  Okay Eddy played out of his socks over the next few games, but is now looking pretty ordinary.  I am not sure Doc is the right choice to replace either Flem or Charlton as all my spurs mates still say he is dodgy back there, but we won''t know until we try.  Why did we sell Malky?
10. zipper I understand the point you are trying to make, but I don''t think Hux on the left cost us a point.  It was four defenders on the near post that cost us a point.  That was the one really poor thing about our whole game that stood out for me. Hux on the left helped create so many great chances and we look great every time he plays there.   Attack is most definitely the best form of defence, but we need our defenders keeping the simple stuff sorted. It is now a tough choice between who should start out of Helveg, Safri, Holt and Francis because all three of them have had 45 minutes of greatness at some stage and Helveg hasn''t really had a proper chance.   Some pople have said Jonson looked poor, but I thought he got better as the game went on and should still start on the wing over Bentley or McVeigh, with Hux on the other.
11. I''m sorry but, Helveg and donkey don''t go in the same sentence.  Some of you just don''t give players a decent chance.   Holt has been giving the ball away all season and only now has started to play that bit better.  Helveg is a class player and will come good for Norwich.
12. severely gutted, really thought we were gonna win when we equalised.  If we oculd only sort out our first halves we would be laughing.   All those draws converted into wins next time around and this seaosn could be good after all, we can do it!!
13. I didn''t think Jonson looked that bad and Helveg certainly didn''t deserve a 3, 5 maybe.  Huckerby is so much more effective on that wing, awesome today.  McKenzie quality, knew he could do it. The first goal, awful defending , 4 defenders running to near post left back post and player unmarked. Why are our first halves so poor?  We keep losing 2 or 3 points in the first half.  Inspired 2nd half, but whatever Nigel says at half time, why doesn''t he do it before the match.
14.
Stevenage fan, the key to a team keeping clean sheets is based on all 11 players, not just 5, it''s like saying the goalkeeper is poor after conceding a hat full of goals when the defenders have off da...
Yes I agree with that and did try to say that somewhere in my post, just not as well as you did Now you mention only 7 goals coming from teams outside the very top flight it isn''t such a bad result.   Also I have only seen the games on SKY and listened on Canaries World to the others, so I am not in the best position to comment....   My main point was don''t write off the Doc just yet as we will need him, especially if one of Flem or Charlton get injured.  From what I have seen from Charlton he is one of the best signings we have made for a long time. Kind of contradicting myself now aren''t I?  haha.
15. Freddy H, you have made some very good points there that have made me feel a little more positive about the situation.  One thing you haven''t mentioned though is wages. Green could potentially earn a lot more sitting on the bench at Arsenal than playing 1st team at Norwich.   Now other people have mentioned that Green''s character dictates that money would not be the deciding factor for him, but it all depends how much and what other promises are made about breaking into the 1st team.  The fact he is young means he might not mind playing reserve team football for a season if he is earning a shed load of cash to support his family.  He has plenty of years on his side to become Arsenal''s No.1 and will make lots of money in the process. I am still a little worried, but am leaning more to the end of the season departure rather than January now.
16. Forgive me, but everyone is saying how great Flem, Charlton and Greeno are playing, but we have still conceded 14 goals!!  Okay its not the worst in the prem, but its not great either.  People say Edworthy is keeping Helveg out of the side too.  So basically 4 of our back 5 are so good that no one else can get in, yet they have conceded 14!! Okay, its a team game and they have probably kept out double that, but Spurs should have been 3 up at time against us and only bad luck on their part stopped that happening. Idividually they do all look like they are playing well, but Doc and Helveg must be wondering how many goals we have to concede before they get a chance.  Don''t get me wrong I am not saying I think our defence is bad I just think to write off the Docs chances in there so early is not fair on him. Bit confusing opinions I have expressed there, but hopefully you get what I mean.
17. “A loan is something we might consider so long as there was a 24 hour recall,” said Worthington, who snapped up Gallacher on a free transfer from Dundee United in June. “The need to have three keepers is still very much to the forefront of my mind – but providing we could get him back quickly in an emergency it might be beneficial. ” 24 hour recall for when he sells Greeno
18. NavMan - thanks for the back up cous YC - Wiz - I agree, sorry YC FatMan - decoy duck quality
19. I sat in the pub after football training last night and saw both of Lehman''s cock ups.  I turned to a couple of my mates and said Greeno will be playing for them soon.  One is an Arsenal fan and nodded his agreement with a wry smile.  The other is a Spurs fan and just said Robinson is better I hope it doesn''t happen, but fear it will
20. the funniest thing in all this is that Fatman was talking to me when Yankee decided to launch at attack not only at him, but me as well!!! Although I often agree with a lot of the points you make Yankee  (by the way I may not have posted much, but visit every day), sometimes you just come across pretty arrogant. I totally agree that the management in place is far more qualified than any poster on here to make the right decision, just didn''t need all the fluffy words in between your points mate.
21. Hey Navman.  Since our conversation I thought I would get back on the boards and got right in there with a good old debate with the Wizard himself, lol. Hope to get back to Norwich over the next couple of weeks and hope to see you all again.  Take care. Oh BTW very good points on this thread which I totally agree with, no need for panic just yet.
22.
Admitted he does tend to stray into the "neutral observer" class but I think he has to, if only to give some balance to Roy Waller''s extremely biassed vision. On the whole I think he reads the game ...
exactly
23. okay I just re-read my first post and I did say bounce straight back up....  Told you I get things wrong.
24. sorry Wiz, I normally find your posts very informative and most importantly extremely funny, but to say my views are a bit head in the clouds is even more confusing. It is you that have stated you want the board to really go for it and spend some decent cash, whereas I say buy what we can afford that adds to a strong sqaud that could survive the prem and will remain intact for a "bounce back" if relegated. Surely thinking, this promised land, striker of yours will save the day and keep us up here is more head in the clouds than thinking long term, financially sound club with decent squad? Anyway I never said we would bounce straight back, I said we would have a strong squad that is likely to come back up even stronger, not necessarily the next season, but certainly way before 9 years is up which is how long you suggested it could take.  I am merely supporting a tried and tested plan (Charlton, WBA, Boro, Bolton) rather than a spend and hope plan (Leeds, Sunderland, West Ham, Ipswich, Wolves).  Which do you honestly think is more head in the clouds? Anyway the point you are missing is that if we already have £1.2M to spend, which as far as I am aware was to be added to whatever Nigel already had for a striker (which he failed to get last time around) and we sell Greeno we could potentially have £6M or more to spend.  Now I would imagine that the board will keep some of the Green cash, but Nigel will have at least £3.5M which is all you want anyway, so what is all the fuss about?  Rather than recoup when Green departs, wouldn''t it be sell Green and buy a striker all within the same transfer slot?   I think this is all a bit panic before anything has really happened. Oh, also if we were relegated I would be interested to know what players you think would be bought by which Premiership teams?  Discounting Green of course.  Unless one of our strikers bags 15 plus goals none of them. YC, don''t know why you had to make that remark at me.  Everyone is entitled to their opinions and I was engaging in a FRIENDLY exchange of ideas with Fatman that didn''t need your nose poking in.  I was actually on the same side of the fence as you, but you seem to attack anyone!!  Still confused by the way!!
