  1. Let''s worry about scoring a goal 1st.... Scoring in 2 of the last 9 matches has to be more of a concern.
  2. I remember this report when it came out. It''s based on a mutual rivalry - for example some Man U fans may list Man City, some Leeds and some Arsenal as their rivals. But it''s not always replicated the other way around, eg: Spurs fans might name Arsenal as their rival and some Arsenal fans will list Spurs, but there will also be Arsenal fans that say Man Utd is their rival. Where as we would list Ipswich as our number 1 rival and they would do the same with us.
  3. ...We scored in every away league game in a season? Or was this the first time?
  4. I went to the game yesterday to support the Shrews (my family were originally from the area and my great-grandad played for them). Sadly we didn''t get the result we had hoped for but the stadium is amazing. We were located in the top tier and when I stepped out into view of the pitch it made my jaw drop. It''s huge! Even the view from being right at the back of the top tier is fantastic. It''s on such a steep slope that there seems to be no restritive views anywhere. They must have known there would be a few Norwich fans there, as in the programme there are 2 counts of Norwich shirts and a picture of Dion too! Hopefully we won''t need the play-offs next year, but if we do you won''t be disapointed by the stadium!
  5. Apparently a scummer added the bit about Ashton so ignore it!
  6. Andy King, Sam Parkin''s previous boss has been telling the local media of his reluctance to let his former front man go. Speaking on www.thisisstfc.co.uk King stated that Town have in Parkin "a wonderful human being". King said: "I have told their chairman that I think he''s got a wonderful signing and it will give Joe Royle the push he needs to get promotion this year. "I''ll be very happy to see Parkin where he deserves to be, playing in the Premiership. "I''ve got no doubt he should play in the Premiership. I can name you players now at that level who aren''t as good as Parkin such as Ashton. I hope Joe Royle agrees with me in 12 months time." He continued: "Once he spoke to Ipswich, that was the end of it for me. I felt he would sign for them. It is a real football club and I thought they were the best team and did not get promoted. "Joe Royle has been at the top of the tree as a player and as a manager. "Everything''s right about the place not like that yellow club up the road. It is an exciting time for the kid. "The only sad part in it is that I''m left here without him. It''s a very sad day for Swindon Town. With my manager''s hat on there''s a massive void. "But what people have to understand was that in 12 months time he was walking away from this football club for nothing. "The other thing was he wanted that challenge at that next level as we''ve said. So he''s gone but he leaves us with some very, very fond memories."
  7. How many are coming to Cambridge United on Saturday to see the big man in action again?
  8. Theres more info about the ''Fans United'' Day on this website www.cambridgefansunited.org There are supposed to be fans coming from various clubs around the country to raise money. You can download posters to display from this website too to help promote the day
  9. I''ll be going to the next home game (vs Wycombe on the 19th). It''s supposed to be a Fans United day to help raise money for the club. I work for the Cambridge paper and a guy I work with has urged us to take a lot of supporters along.
  10. My mate spoke to Bentley after the Arsenal game and he told him then that he was off either in Jan or at the end of the season. Also heard it from Flecky.
  11. I heard from a contact at the EDP that it was being printed today and coming out later in the week. Could it be a repeat of the DVD saga?!
  12. Theres an advert on Page 87 for Clarks which has the Norwich Shirt in it. Its header is "Norwich my New York". Amazing what accompanies being in the Premiership.
  13. I work at the Cambridge Evening News and the match report of last nights game is a good ''light-hearted'' read: ".......it became hard to tell which team was about to play in the top flight as United passed the ball around well and harried their opponents while the defence dealt easily with thw limited Norwich attacks." "If it had not been for conceding two early goals United could well have come away with a draw".
  14. Thought Charlton was pretty good too. He knew exactly where poeple were going and when to jump, so he won most ballls in the air despite his height. Eddie had a great game along with Holt. Poor old Zema looks well short of match fitness and quality. Looked scared to keep hold of the ball.
  15. He''s 32. Theres interest from Celtic and Rangers plus he has had a large offer from a Japanese club too.
  16. He''s been released by Chelsea. If we offer a 9 month contract at £40,000 a week thats £1.4 million for the season. Sounds better than £3m for David Johnson!
  17. The club have confirmed that Green has signed a new 3 year deal!!!
  18. I had a dream at the weekend that we would get Palace at home, win 3-0 and be top of the Premiership on the first day of the season!
  19. Yeah, phoned up Saturday morning.
  20. I''ve ordered mine already from the shop, was told end of this month or beginning of next, but their going to send it out with my new away shirt.
  21. It''s about 80mins long, it''s Dan O''Hagan commentating.
  22. March 11th 1989 vs Wimbledon (Home) 1-0 Trevor Putney It was a treat for my eighth birthday along with my first Norwich scarf.
  23. Also, how about a game against some weak 1st division outfit, Ipswich for instance!!!
  24. Just this one that I know of. Went on canaries.co.uk to check about Sinclair (He''s been released) and it was announced today.
  25. Just seen that we''ve anounced a pre-season friendly away at Cambridge United on Tuesday 27th July (7.45pm). Should be a good night as I work at the Cambridge Evening News and work with some United supporters. Possibly first game in new away shirt too!
