  2. Howdy there! I'm going to try to cynically win the profitability league by picking Juventus and AC Milan to draw at 5-2. (I feel compelled to actually offer something helpful too; Bradford to beat Newport looks nailed-on considering the form guide.) As for the Norwich match, we've been looking quite dangerous from set pieces, so how's about Big Shane Duffy to bundle in the first goal? Good luck everyone!
  3. If you freeze it at the point it leaves Sarge's boot, it's very, very close. If there's any doubt, the assistant should give the advantage to the attacking team. So fair enough in my eyes.
  4. Morning all! My pick is Bolton to win at home to Port Vale. Bolton have had a bit of a blip recently, but need a win to have any chance of automatic promotion. Vale have only one point from their last five, and seem to be barrelling towards inevitable relegation. As for the Norwich match, how about POTS-in-waiting Kenny McLean to score anytime at 9/1? Best of luck, everyone – especially @Cosmic Twin. It'd be amazing if she could reach double figures in what looks likely to be our last season!
  5. Not surprised it's being touted, but it might just be lazy journalism based on Amorim supposedly taking over from Klopp. I've seen him play a fair few times for Sporting, and he's turned into a really intelligent and versatile player with great pace, who can play off a front man or as a false nine. He's a vital part of Sporting's success, but not sure he'd be good enough to play such a pivotal role for a club of Liverpool's stature. Could see him going to somewhere like West Ham, Villa or Newcastle perhaps.
  6. I'm going a little bit early with this, but I had a spare half-hour so thought I'd crack on. Given our injury issues and Preston's generally strong defence, I don't see too many goals in this one; especially if Sarge isn't available. A little surprising that we're shorter odds than Preston to win, so I've tried to factor that in too. £1 0-0 £1 Sara to score from outside the area £1 Sainz to score from outside the area £1 Nunez to score from outside the area £1 Double result Norwich/Draw £1 Preston to win and Will Keane to score anytime £2 Preston to score the last goal £1 Ashley Barnes to be carded 50p Norwich to win 3-1 and SVH to score the last goal 50p Norwich to win 2-1 and SVH to score the last goal
  7. I echo everyone else's comments about Eddie's incredible commitment to the PUPs cause over the past 17 years. I'll be back tomorrow to do the match picks, but my pick for the final six is for Wrexham to beat Forest Green; odds of 4/11 look pretty generous.
  8. If Ipswich don't go up then I doubt they'll be challenging for the top two next season, unless they can somehow keep hold of McKenna. A lot is resting on Knapper's recruitment and choice of head coach, that's for sure.
  9. This seems like a good place to recommend this book. Bloody hilarious, and so perceptive. Well worth a tenner of any self-respecting footy fan's money. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Football-Clichés-Adam-Hurrey/dp/1472220382
  10. This strikes me as pretty close to reality. I also think that Knapper will be delighted at being able to hold onto his 'lightning rod' in Wagner until the end of the season; yes, he could have sacked him in November, but then his new man would've had to hit the ground running and get us marching up the table, despite the evident lack of funds to spend in January. This suits all parties; we most likely get an unexpected crack at the playoffs, Wagner gets an honourable discharge at the end of the season, and Knapper gets a few more months to tinker in the background, instil his ways of working and identify playing and coaching targets for the summer. Of course we 'want' promotion if it lands in our lap, but holding onto Wagner in the PL would seem as unwise as sacking him would seem harsh. A clean slate for a new head coach in a weaker Championship next season isn't such a bad proposition; I doubt Luton or Sheffield United would be troubling the top two, although Kompany could well 'do a Farke' with Burnley.
  11. Maybe you've been watching too many Hollywood movies... 😉

  13. This is the last round of midweek games, so if we can avoid any injuries tonight and Saturday then we've got a full week's recovery between all of the last four matches. I don't expect there to be any changes from the derby.
  14. https://x.com/NN10Canary/status/965279999635918860?t=ejr1_tu4S5aAfR7jTiCeVw&s=08
  15. Look after him, won't you? Don't let him get all giddy.
  16. Weird that you want to wind up other Norwich fans on derby day of all days.
  17. I'm usually on side with your posts, but this sounds like weird moral signposting to me. Why is everyone who enjoys a drink a 'slave to drink'? Sounds like you're superimposing some of your own personal issues and experiences onto the whole of society here, mate.
  18. I think there are plenty of fans who can enjoy a few drinks before, during and/or after the match without being a menace to society. If any of our lot started abusing members of the public, causing criminal damage or trying to start fights, they'd get pulled into line pretty quickly.
  19. I thought "make a beeline for the pub" would have clarified my intentions in that regard.
  20. Hahahaaaa came here to say just that!
  21. Taking the dogs to social club at 9am, then make a beeline to the pub. Need an extensive binbuster breakfast to line the stomach for the day's festivities. What about you, @The Real Buh? Are you going to the pub with @Paint Me Yellow again? 😉
  22. I was getting nervous last night, so I pressure-washed the patio. Great way to focus the mind... and also to prepare the garden for the summer! Might just have an impromptu binbuster BBQ this afternoon if we can avoid defeat...
  23. We put Ed Sheeran on as part of Norwich Fringe Festival back in 2009. He was a very pleasant, humble young fella, who turned up with just a guitar and a loop pedal and had the audience (of probably about 50 people!) in the palm of his hand; he's certainly not talentless, but as soon as a major label got their teeth into him he made his millions with vacuous, soulless garbage.
