1.

Its a fair question.  It was a game we had to win.    A draw is not good enough to stay in the league.
It''s a question you could have asked many times this season, why wait until now? Couldn''t be anything to do with the change of manager could it?
I have a sneaking suspicion that LDC was indulging in a little bit of irony with this thread.
 2.
I have been very pro Adams but I still have a few nagging doubts about him and his lack of managerial experience......like why wasn''t Hooper used against Chelski towards the end?So its a small no atm.......but as an assistant to the next manager he would be ideal.
I can sympathise with Adams not doing so to be honest. Chelsea were going at us pretty doggedly and when all''s said and done they''re an extremely talented side. Even when we''ve set up to attack this season the goal constipation has continued and one slip would have meant survival was completely beyond hope rather just almost beyond hope as it is now.

Liverpool was the best fight-back we''ve seen from a Norwich team in quite a while.
Lets not forget that there could well be quite a few of them no longer at the club next season....Also lets not forget that it was picking the wrong formation that meant we needed to fight back in the first place....
No manager anywhere has a crystal ball. He was trying something different, which given the circumstances was not unreasonable. The irony that moving towards a more Hughtonesque formation during the game improved matters did not escape me. That he was adaptable enough to do so was a big point in his favour.
We can eulogise all day about it though, the outcome was still nil points. Worse for me (other than the umpteen hours in a bus it involved) was Man Utd. Totally there for the taking, we had nothing to lose there, and frankly we just didn''t show up. Lets leave the comparisons to Hughton though, onwards and upwards[Y]
I think the comparison to CH is quite important to be honest. I still think some people gave him much too hard a time and if they hadn''t done such a good job of creating a siege mentality so early on in the squad with the incessant negativity directed at them then the squad may have had that little bit more self-confidence and we might be in a better position now, but it''s done.
I completely agree with you, for the record. But theres nothing to be gained from continuing to rake over it.
You''re quite right, I just hold out some small hope that some might learn for the future.

 7.
If we''re going to do this thing, it needs to be done like the Premiership club we are.We need to get someone in who inspires confidence in the players, the fans, and any prospective transfer targets.I don''t want to be sat here this time next year bemoaning how we showed no ambition after appointing our youth team coach, and we have failed to make the play offs, and any decent players we have are n ow eying the exit door.
Why not? Could just as easily be bemoaning an experienced manager who didn''t deliver. Happens all the time. Redknapp is plenty experienced but has had a hard job getting QPR scoring this year in spite of Fernandes'' financial backing.
 8.
Tricky one. Apart from Lennon, every other manager on our wish list has been sacked for failing at their last club. Adams hasn''t, given the poisoned chalice he was given.
Totally agree that Adams had a very difficult assignment handed to him. I thought he judged it very well yesterday. Bus parking was very effective and frustrated Chelsea to the point that we did actually get some chances, particularly when he put Redmond on. Bet Snodgrass is kicking himself over fluffing that one later on. Man U was obviously a train crash, but for that penalty I think it could have been a different story. The comeback against Liverpool was terrific and I thought Adams demonstrated quite a bit of nowse turning it around to the extend that he did.Someone broached the idea of Adams coaching under Malky. I don''t know whether Adams would be content to do that having had a taste of senior management although it could be a nice balance. Personally, I think it''s a fair point about experience, but on the other hand, plenty of experienced managers can fail at a task as well. Winning the FA Youth Cup was quite an achievement on his part. I''d be quite interested to see how he does next season to be honest. Never mind the danger.
 9.
Just curious. I don''t, by the way.
If we survive this season, then I''d say he''d be guaranteed to be offered a job elsewhere. Most people would consider keeping a team in our current period of development two seasons in a row an achievement. If he doesn''t keep us up, that will be damaging, but having said that after the investment at QPR and Mark Hughes'' following train crash I never dreamt in a million years that he''d ever get another Premier League job and then he turned up at Stoke. Given that we''re still a team that even just looking at value on paper you''d have to consider vulnerable, I''m not sure a neutral would dismiss him.
 10. Today has reinforced an idea in my mind: Since we first encountered Paul Lambert, it has been Norwich City''s role to make him look good.As manager of Norwich, he enjoyed a meteoric rise to the Premier League from League One. I don''t think it''s possible for him to be 100% single-handedly responsible for this, so fortune played it''s part. Since he left the club for Aston Villa, things haven''t been so rosy for him, with fans at Aston Villa increasingly discontent with him in a similar way that a number of Norwich fans are skeptical about our own manager. However, when things are reaching the stage where Aston Villa fans will turn on him, along comes Norwich to be ritually humiliated at his hands. Of course, discontent with him was at an all-time high today, so our humiliation had to be correspondingly larger. There, is, however a massive upside to this. In order for him to continue to humiliate us when the chips are down for him, it is necessary for us to remain in the Premier League. Thus we can''t possibly be relegated this season. Hooray!
 11.

Wes actually played very well in that early period, but I found Wes not celebrating when he scored really disturbing. I wonder how much his lack of enthusiasm impacted on the rest of the team''s confidence from that point.
I''d say his celebration had no link on the teams confidence. That really is clutching at straws.
Really? Why? If I was on a team with someone and they put us ahead and showed no sign of being pleased by it I know I''d be thrown by it.

 13.
I have seen some outrageous threads on here in my time but this takes the biscotti. He is clueless hapless useless one of the worst managers we have ever had as a club. To compare him to the Messiah is a blasphemy. Anyway I am like a kid on Xmas morning just about to make my way to the villa to see OUR Messiah
A supposed Norwich City supporter who spends his time doing his level best to undermine confidence in Norwich City''s manager while worshipping the manager of another club who left us behind to the extent that you''re more interest in licking his backside today than you are seeing Norwich get a result. You''re weird.
 14.
Had the Messiah not have been forced out of the club by the poor management skills of Mcnasty and Bowchump where do you think we would be in the league. I look at Southampton who are on a similar climb up the leagues I don''t think it would be unrealistic to think the Messiah would have us safely in the top 6 by now pushing for a champions league place. Instead we are in a relegation dog fight due to hapless hughton. Oh what might have been. Hughton out. Messiah back
Southampton have spent a lot of money on their squad. Their average player value is around £4.7m in contrast to our average player value of £2.9m. Their closest rival in terms of money is Newcastle and, strangely enough, they''re pretty close to each other in the table. £2.9m per player buys you between 17th and 15th in the league as it stands. Aston Villa''s average player value is £3.3m so a little bit ahead of us, but not by much and we''re on the same points in the table.
 15.

Why?
Basically if Lawro predicts us to lose, a thread pops up having a go. When he picks us to win there is nothing. Given that he has predicted us this season to have more points and be in a better position than we actually are, it is a fairly strange criticism (Although it seems fans from every team have a go for the sake of it)That said, the whole column is a bit of a joke. His predictions usually follow a template, and his guests can be awful. But then any idiot can predict fixtures, he just happens to be there to be shot down.
With regard to Lawro''s predictions, I like it when he predicts that we will lose. It''s when he predicts that we''ll win that I start worrying.
 16.
He did something that could be deemed racist without realising quite how bad it was, stupid but I believe he isn''t actually racist. He will do his punishment and deal with it. I seem to remember him happily hugging benayoun and other jews he played with. Typical press blowing things out of proportion even if was a bit careless. What next? Nolan banned for his chicken celebration?
Actually, I''ve met a lot of chickens that have been outraged by his blatant stereotyping of them.
 17. It''s a shame though as I was looking forward to seeing Howson, Tettey and Fer together in midfield again.
 18.
I think Fer has been doing ok lately even if maybe he''s not quite hit the heights he did earlier in the season as often.   We''re so thin on the ground there it''d be a bit of a concern to lose him for a lengthy amount of time.   Losing your better players is always going to hurt you (as shown with Tettey and Howson) and Fer is certainly one of our better players.
I think with Johnson and Tettey back in harness, we can manage with either Howson or Hoolahan playing in front of them.
 19. How can they give a prognosis before he''s had a scan?
 20. I must be honest I''ve always been puzzled by the antipathy towards Calderwood. I don''t understand how you can form any sort of judgement of a management underling individually.
 21.
Lambet must have burnt his bridges here hasn''t he?   He was the Messiah but he''s just a fallen angel now and its his fault not ours. [:@]
He has become the anti-christ!
 22.

They haven''t branded him anti-semitic, they made that very clear.
They can say what they like in a statement but if the "Man on The Clapham Omnibus......."
They categorically said it broke the anti-racism rules, but didn''t believe it was meant to be anti-semitic. Don''t think he''s got much chance of a successful appeal at that rate.
 23.
And he''s not the messiah, he''s a very naughty boy.
You beat me to it!
 24. Transfermarkt.co.uk has Kyle Naughton valued at £3.5m. He has 2 years left on his contract. If he really wants away in the Summer then I imagine that would impact the price. Having a manager here with strong Tottenham connections probably won''t hurt either.
 25.

No I signed up a couple of years ago, but lost interest in all the brainless comments. Just signed in to share what I heard. I''m sure you ain''t full of it face to face are you :)
I''m not having a go at you but your first post did state Hughton''s contract details as fact, then your second changed it slightly to a rumour from an ex player. I would still question the validity of ex players getting to see the current managers contract details. And yes, I would still ask those same questions to your face.
Personally, I don''t interpret the club''s fiscal caution as negativity as such. Debts come at a premium and make less of your future revenue available to go into the football because it has to go into servicing the debt. Once this season is over, any revenue (which goes up dramatically this year because of Premier League TV rights) is available for squad upgrades and stadium upgrades. What money there has been beyond paying off the debts has all gone into players. Grounds have been put on hold and, with safe-standing on the horizon, I think that''s a very canny move as that will allow capacity increases for much less money. It should also be considered that spending doesn''t guarantee success (QPR highlight this in no uncertain terms), nor does being a bit more conservative guarantee failure. The board is playing the long game in my opinion.
