  1. GPB, The smart answer is ''nothing'' but I''m too mature to put that..........oh!
  2. I''ve just been to Colney to watch the U21s in a friendly against Charlton and was turned away at the gate. Wonder why?
  3. Jas, It''s not all about motivation, you can motivate an idiot, it''s about truly understanding the part your brain plays in performance and how it deals with events beyond its control. Players are human beings just like all of us and where do you draw the line on how much you earn before it''s enough to immunise you from the outside world. Some would say you earn £200 perday so why are you having an off day? As people they have emotions and it is emotiomns which run our lives unfortunately many of these can be negative and it''s the lack of understanding of how do deal with these that stops you from getting what you want. Players suffer from all the slings and arrows thrown anyone, death in the family, divorce, etc. etc. so unless they are ''trained'' on how to deal with these scenarios their performance/motivation/attitude will suffer
  4. Thorpe end, The club does not have psychologists, so there is no-one not doing their job. There has been a guy come on a couple of occasions but as you say, he aint cutting the mustard, but maybe this is because you can take a horse to water but you can''t force it to drink, or is it because the person responsible for engaging him (he''s an old contact of CH) doesn''t walk the talk so the players then become confused and possibly end up in a worse mental state than before. MO, we''re not doomed but it will take all the self discipline of our on field leaders to grab this by the scruff of the neck and sort it, a job that is easier said than done.
  5. Yobocop, Elmander did not create his goal and assist he was gifted them, I would suggest play Snoddy on the leftt and Redmond on the right. Get Martin back, a voice of reason and a well respected player by the others, and maybe Seb, we are lacking in attack not neccessarliy defence, so if we are going to make big changes, then do it up front or the midfield, but our options are limited i midfield, so put the young Loza in to play off Hooper in, at least we know he will give it 100% and we also know he knows where the goal is. If we are going for broke then let''s do it!
  6. Snodders, I guees to add some experience and steel for the fight which lay ahead. CH could be blamed for many things but surely not for not having a crystal ball which foretells of upcoming injuries?
  7. Winning 25, No I don''t, the original point was, who amongst our players had performed consistently well enough to be a nailed on selection, I''m not advocating we make 7 changes. However I am advocating that if the manager is going to make 5 changes in the starting line up that it may be taking a risk somewhere and I would throw Loza in for some game time because as most of us know; the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results. So by definition, if we aint getting different results and are essentially doing the same thing over and over then we must be insane! And by we I do of course mean the club and not posters, although.......
  8. Getalife, Assuming you are advocating/supporting such behaviour, which of course you may not be but then why start this thread, may I suggest you read your strap line, particularly the second line; Rudeness is the weak man''s imitation of strength, They are unable to control their emotional discomfort, therefore pity them rather than blame them.
  9. GJP, The question was addressed to you as a group, hence the "you guys" but in hindsight it was a stupid question, as it would mean a group of posters agreeing and we all know that very rarely happens. So, in your opinion there are seven positions up for grabs, I think I could go as far to say I agree with the number but not necessarily the personnel, not going to get into a debate over the seven positions though as I do need to get some sleep tonight and we have a grand prix at 6.00am.
  10. So are you guys saying, Howson, Turner, Ruddy, Olsson, Tettey, Fer and Snodgrass are nailed on selections and that we only need to find 4 more and we have a team capable of...of what? I guess we see individual performances differently, good job we do really or this board would not be needed.
  11. Winning25, I''ve seen the games and yes. nothing to write home about but then Holty never looked too good in training apparently. Loza may not have done it in league 1 but he didn''t get too much game time either, he has certainly been playing well, and scoring, for the U21s. If a manager is going to make wholesale changes, then why not go for the really unexpected, let''s face it Becchio and Loza could do no worse!
  12. GJP, Possibly he hasn''t been playing so well, although I think he is one of our better/more consistent performers, but given the performances Whitts has put in in his last 5 or 6 games RM would be my choice. Going back to my original point, who do you think has palyed well consistently enough not to have their selection questioned, if CH''s thinking is as yours, then why hasn''t Becchio or even Loza been given a start for a few ganes?
  13. GJP, i suspect you are correct and the opposition do target our right side, well no surprise there then as thery have a choice of right or left, so I suspect they could come down our right at least, say around 50% of the time! I do not recall many goals coming from RM being skinned or out of position (other than when having gone up for a corner underi instruction) and even if he is occasionally that is what wingers are paid to do, RM passes per game surpasses SW''s, as does his pass completion % and accurate long balls. Re dire performances, at least 11 men have been part of dire performances so why have you singled out RM? If that logic follows then we may as well replace all 11 and play the U21s. Now there''s an idea!!
  14. CH changed 50% of our defence today and expects it to gel immediately, shows poor judgement imo, assuming no injuries.
  15. QHcanary, I have a feeling you will get to see a tosser of the highest order here next season (if not before), afterall his season is all but over in Scotland and he has nothing left to play for as they are out of the cup. IMO Uwe Rosler has the makings of a damn good Prem level manager, might just be a tad too early, but hell, as we say with players, if you''re good enough..........
  16. Good stream here for those thjat can bear it? http://www.rojadirecta.me/goto/up4free.com/streamd.php?id=chh12&width=800&height=600
  17. Seb I can understand but Whittaker to be able to deal with Lallana defensively better than Martin, not sure about that one, so assume a slight knock/illness? Pilks, jury''s out for me but hope they find him guilty of having a blinder.
  18. Hi Zipper, Agree with Loza, loanee, is Adel Gafaiti to Oldham.
  19. Zipper, Many of our academy lads represent their respective countries and have done for a few years. Have a feeling there may be another loan coming up to a League 1 club won''t say who, will let the club or the player announce it.
  20. But against Sunderland they did spartacus, 3 - 0 and with another cracking goal by Loza and two from Josh M. I would be amazed that had Loza played in the last 13 games he would have outscored our strikers, but then he would only needed to have foundnd the net once!
  21. Morty, I think Loza ahead of Morris, who I do like the look of and for a big lad has quite quick feet but I''m not sure he is a natural goalscorer, but being the youngest of those mentioned still has plenty of time to learn. I think CH may as well put Loza on the bench in place of Bechio, who is unlikely to get a game, as he can fill a couple of roles. Cam McGeehan is doing very well at Luton, pretty much playing a full 90 every game
  22. From the Manager''s interview earlier today; On the impressive season for City’s opponents, he added: “I’m not sure what levels we expected, but we knew they were going to be good and offensive because they’ve got players that can score goals. “They recruited well and they’ve had a really good policy of bringing through a few of the younger ones. In Luke Shaw, they have someone who’s very much going to be a star over the next few years. Is there a lesson to be learnt here by our management team? Besides Josh Murphy, who probably only got a game because of the number of injuries we had, our managem, ent team seems loathe to give our youngsters a shot at it and before anyone says they need more experience, Shaw didn''t go out on loan, Ward Prowse didn''t go out on loan and both made their debuts aged 16. They have gone on to be very exciting young players, I''m sure we have some too, Loza, Murphy x 2, Morris, McGeeham, Gafaiti, to name but a few. In particular I would like to see Loza given ago, OK he''s not going to win you much in the air, but he has ball control and knows where the goal is, and anyone who has seen any of the U21 games recently will know that. Let''s be honest what have we got to lose?
  23. Crabby, I always use the phrase, IMO unless I absolutely know something. Good luck to your daughter, she is priviliged to have a parent who understands the part ''thinking'' plays in performance. Re your last point, nor would they lay open to the world how they stunt their team, but then they would have no understanding of the fact that they are having a negative impact.
  24. Morty, There I differ with you on a number of the points you made and I know he doesn''t say anything different to the players and says pretty much the same, or at times, worse, or worse acording to me.
  25. Morty, By my phrase, "Waging Peace on each other" I mean we are debating and that in general we agree are on the same page, the same side. My opinion of PL, is that he was a very good table thumper type of manager here, not sure this is working for him at Villa so well though. CH in my opinion is well liked as an individual by the players and consequently they want to well for him but I feel he doesn''t fully inderstand the negative impact some of his words have on them, which of course works against their desire to do well for him (not forgetting of course they want to do well for themselves too).
