1.
You''re absolutely right and I would encourage my own sons to do the same given the chance.
Given the chance you ever find someone willing to procreate with you?I wouldn''t hold your breath if I were you....

 4.
I assume that was deliberate Herb. If not, you''re gonna get hammered.
Yeah, and I''ll be devastated, cos what loads of random people I don''t know on an internet forum think of me means everything to me... I''m not trying to challenge Captain Pedantic for his crown. Merely pointing out that it makes him come across as a bit of a cock. As for my spelling and grammar errors, they don''t bother me much, nor do anyone elses providing it''s legible.
 5.

It''s really not that easy to spell, i''d like to see you try it without look anywhere else..
Why don''t you try and learn something before you post? http://www.google.com/search?source=ig&hl=en&rlz=1G1GGLQ_ENUK254&q=Adeboyo+Akinfwa&btnG=Google+Search It does it for you ffs.
Because it''s an online forum and it really doesn''t matter if I don''t spell his name correct, you all know who i''m tlaking about so whogives a fu...ck?
Ah yes here it is again; the constant defence of the ignorant.   Knowledge and accuracy are beyond me so they do not matter
OK Captain Pedantic, where''s the full stop at the end of your sentance?
 6. Club had sold about 12.5k this afternoon when I nipped into the ticket office.I''m guessing just over 14k on the night.
 7. Bunch of losers who''ve watched Green Street and other such bilge too many times. To a man (boy!) they''ll all look like malnourished chav skip-rats dressed in tacky cliched tat.
 8.
So no, I don''t think the prices are driving fans away.  I understand why people are annoyed at paying more, but if we''re going to compete and survive as a business then we need more money coming into the club from all parties, not just shareholders.
A fair argument. But the fans will increasingly expect the extra cash to deliver success. If it doesn''t (and I mean within a couple of seasons at most) then watch them desert in droves. It''s a delicate balance, if the club call this issue wrongly we could be back to attendances we saw in the last few months of the Chase era within 3 or 4 seasons.
 9.

Calm as anything about the start of the season [:)]
Me too, and I would even stick my neck out and say a 4-1 win to City on Friday.[:)]
Calm down!I''d settle for a scrappy 1-0 with the winner coming off Holt''s arse in injury time...
 10. This cannot be true. Grant Holt did not come on as a sub for City today. It''s a bloody conspiracy I tell you! How do I know this?Because 1st Lizard, he of carrowroad.net fame (who as we all know have "sources") said he''d be out till October.
 11.
i hope ypu swallow your own tounge and choke on it
Are you a bit special or what?
 12. Mr Chops = Jens Berthal Askou. You heard it here first [;)]Congrats fella, I would say it gets easier from this point, but it doesn''t.
 13.
we are poor,very poor
You''re from Ipswich, of course you''re f***ing poor. Peasant.
 14.
No but you could call the Guiness Book of Records [;)]
You could, but I''d suggest the Guinness Book of Records would be a better bet.
 15.
as must all those who replied!
Ohhh, touch a nerve did I numbnuts?
 16. I find it depressing that such an unimaginative and rubbish troll obviously lacking in intelligence feels it''s worthwhile posting here.He must have an incredibly sad life.
 17.
I agree. But having a look at the prices that are being charged tonight, and prices at friendlies in general, I think they are on par.I guess if we want success we have to be prepared to finance it.
But if we get 50% or less attendance, theres a good chance that if they''d charged a fiver for kids instead of 10 they''d have come out on top.A lot of those under 16''s are gonna be accompanied by adults paying full whack
 18. Seen this mentioned as an aside in a couple of other threads, but no thread on it, so apologies if there is one already. At the moment I''m in the process of bringing my 3 little horrors up to be City fans as mental as I am. This isn''t easy, as my season ticket in the Barclay means I can''t realistically take them to league games - they''re too young to go elsewhere in the ground alone. However, past couple of seasons I''ve been slowly getting them into the joys for following Norwich with friendlies and cup games whenever I can afford it. I feel the club have misjudged the appetite for this game and I''d be suprised if they get a 50% attendance. I, for one simply can''t justify spending 45 quid on one adult and 3 kids tickets, especially with the additional costs involved. Even if I could comfortably afford it, I think on principle I wouldn''t pay that, much as I''d love to take them.In my book, this is a massive own goal for the club. They''re pricing the next generation of fans out of it.I''m doing my bit, bringing them up right to support their local team and I feel the club has let me down.
 19. I''ll add my voice to those who say drop the Colchester thing and move on.We never had a problem with Colchester, in fact if you remember the Championship fixtre against them at Carra Rud the previous season, both sets of fans spent most of the 90 minutes singing "We hate Ipswich more than you" and various slightly less savoury songs about the scum. Our problem was with Cowling for being a pr*ck about the Lambert thing, and Cowling isn''t even a Colchester fan. If I remember correctly he supports some crappy London club.He tried his best last season to create grief around the return fixture at Colchester swimming pool and it was more down to the good natured banter between the fans and the excellent stewarding/policing that no trouble occurred. We''ve got more in common with Colchester than we have with 99% of other clubs and I reckon they''re alright. Even if their chairman is a c*ck....
 20.
I am out of this,Jesus we are days away from the new season with seven new players and a huge dose of optimism and Nutty is on his high horse defending the indefensible on a subject that has been flogged to death on 100 threads since Bryan Gunn was sacked.Instead of giving lectures on the past Nutty how about some pearls wisdom and give us your views on what is going to happen next season but as i said i am out of here.[;)]
Well why did you get in here in the first place? It''s obvious a thread such as this will contain one opinion or the contrary. Not good for your blood pressure old boy.Nutty sums it up pretty well in my opinion. If nothing else, Gunny assembled a squad that actually wanted to play for City. That''s more than can be said for Roeder despite him spending a damn sight more.
 21.
This is horse shit! what a joke, Myself and my Dad both live in different parts of the country miles away from Norwich and both use the text update if we cant get to the games, he''s gonna be gutted when finds out. Is there now way we could take it away from the Pink un and do it Pirate? wink wink
There are several ways and no doubt some enterprising soul will take advantage and fill the gap should the text service cease to be.So the authorities will go from a legit company running it (who they could probably have negotiated a licence fee from) to having any spotty herbert clever enough to understand internet techy stuff running it. If they do it right they could be virtually untraceable and if not, untouchable. They might have adware and porn banners on their site, maximising their revenue. I despair of the football authorities.
 22.
If someone was to "lose" their ticket... They could of given it to a mate, and if the price was say £10 to get a new ticket printed, you end up with 2 season tickets... The season tickets aren''t recorded as people come in, so the same persons ticket could be used twice.
I think this is probably nail, head, hit. There has likely been a bit of fraud on this front, and I know for a fact there has been with concessions season tickets being used by people who by rights should be paying full whack. If your dad/brother has got a senior citizens/student ticket that you use it 5 or 6 times a season when they can''t get to games, thats fair enough in my opinion, but if they buy it for the cheaper price then you use it most of the time, then it is taking the p*ss. Out of the club you claim to support. But the answer is not to have the club take the p*ss back imo. Especially when it is most likely to affect innocent parties. Perhaps the club should enter the 21st century and implement a simple barcode system. I saw it at Southend away last season, and no disrespect to them, their facilities aren''t exactly cutting edge.
 23. No one knows. This isn''t Football Manager 2010.Football is at least 50% mental/psychological, I would have thought England''s non-performance at the world cup proves that. It''s why a good manager can get a *lot* more out of the same players than another manager might. It''s why a L1/L2 team can beat a Premier/Championship team in the cup and make them look second best. I believe we have an excellent manager right now and while he''s not been tested at that level, everything I''ve seen/heard from Lambert suggests he will continue to set high standards and fill his team with players who thrive on those standards. So for me, virtually any of the current squad could turn out to be good enough to at least do a job consistently. Consistency is the key, the mentality to carry the giant-killing cup mentality into the next game.
