  1. Because then he was right and that’s all that matters apparently. I’m not surprised this is where we got to, but I wasn’t going to wish for it before it was inevitable.
  2. Sara’s looking good. My biggest concern though is he seems to have taken over Kenny’s role of providing one absolutely dreadful death pass a game. Lucky he didn’t give another goal away again today.
  3. If anyones in doubt the PR spin team is running things just read this absolute nothingness. I also like listing things that have and/or are happening.
  4. Don't disagree. I just know I'm too angry right now to be objective, but my gut feeling right now is this needs someone to ruthlessly make the best of the opportunity on offer. No ones happy and this team doesn't look close to what was promised. 4 points from 15 in last 5 home games is abysmal.
  5. Personally I'm not going to start calling for his head straight after an absolute dross game like that, too much emotion. However if we are serious that the club believe's we are an Automatic promotion team...it can't be dismissed as an option. You're right you'll never get a better chance for a new manager to make an impact.
  6. I don’t doubt it Purple. I didn’t watch all of the Welcome to Wrexham series as I didn’t think it was that good to be honest, but what struck me about it is they know what they are doing in managing a sports team. They understand what a club is to a community, why it’s important to maintain and nurture that but that doesn’t mean sentiment on the business aspects. Reynolds is an incredibly savvy business man despite (in some ways because) of his joker personality. Put it this way, I’d be surprised if our new Director thinks anything is the supporters fault.
  7. He’d have started every game if he wasn’t injured for us last season. He can have no complaints and can’t care that much.
  8. Arguably what we may need as well as his money and experience? That little touch of unsentimental ruthlessness which is the key to often making the right decision when stakes are high. Put it this way, if we were looking for a new manager I doubt he’d want Russell Martin unless objectively he was considered the best candidate. Everything I’ve read and seen of him so far makes me think if you need to have a rich (probably foreign) owner to be competitive, we could do a lot worse.
  9. How do you determine that as the start? The whole reason they printed that story was because the club locked itself down and wouldn’t answer questions. It was extremely provocative, but I don’t think it was unprovoked or unprofessional.
  10. The step change by the club has been patently obvious to me. Increasingly through the modern social media era, although I’d say it’s accelerated over the last 18 months, the club is locking down its message and avoiding external scrutiny. It’s absolutely standard in modern business of any kind, but I’m surprised that some people don’t think it’s happening.
  11. Basically amounts to a meeting took place and some people were there. Also some questions were asked around some topics. Truly the insightful reporting that makes the local journalists presence redundant.
  12. Paddy said on their Podcast he’s tried 3 times to have conversations with the club about burying the hatchet and each time been rebuffed. The Pinkun are apparently more than happy to move forward but the club isn’t.
  13. I don’t disagree. My only point was IMO we got the balance of our chosen model wrong.
  14. Potentially because no one wanted to buy him? and/or because his value was so low the club wanted to see if he recouped some with performances this season rather than agree a fee at a low point.
  15. What I said if you read the whole comment was I think we needed a better balance between experience and potential. Watford had different issues.
  16. I don’t think it’s an admin issue, or a Webber issue or a player issue. It’s simply we don’t know what league we will be in and therefore how much money we can commit to.
  17. You are kidding with this bit right? If you view every alternative viewpoint as a challenge and attempt to change yours no wonder you’re so aggressively combative. I’ve never known a poster who twists things up in knots so much desperately trying to be ‘right’ about something subjective. Good luck to you.
  18. I never asked you to change your view. I just put forward mine. I had not realised that Webber and the club were synonymous, although as I don’t think this about either it’s rather moot. It does explain where you’re at though. It’s fine, I’ve no interest in hearing more sermons.
  19. I’ll say exactly what I said to the other guy. You believe that nothing the club did in any way influenced the sale of Buendia. Fine, stick to that belief despite the numerous indicators that might not be the case. I’m not wasting any more time arguing with ideologues.
  20. True, although I don’t think he would have resigned without being pushed. He’s just a more loyal servant than most.
  21. Look you believe that nothing the club did in any way influenced the sale of Buendia. Fine, stick to that belief despite the numerous indicators that might not be the case. I’m not wasting any more time arguing with ideologues.
  22. I think if they’d just appointed him at the start there may have been less grumblings but it wasn’t like he was super unpopular. The whole scouring Europe thing didn’t exactly start his tenure off well though. I think if he’d been backed that January he may have achieved promotion. Given the result of sacking him though it’s hard to argue against the decision, it was a shame for him though, but I’m glad he’s still here.
  23. This bit in spades. An obsession with this policy can’t bring success in the PL IMO. It is impossible for the majority of players in the squad to be a former crock, player who’s recently underperformed but might get it back or a youngster with potential. There needs to be a core of experienced pros who will play almost every week, aren’t learning on the job and who offer leadership and mental strength to those that are. We were and still are IMO just too unbalanced in this regard. We may get away with it in the championship due to the overall quality we have, but not in the PL.
