Team for Barnsley/Cup
Jersey Canary replied to cambridgeshire canary's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
He’s available from yesterday I heard earlier in the week. Whether the work permit arrives in time for Saturday I don’t know. He’ll certainly be involved for Middlesbrough you’d have thought. -
Jacob 'Rag Doll' Sorensen
Jersey Canary replied to Thirsty Lizard's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Howson was massively over rated. Anonymous in most games. Never kicked on from the promised he showed at Leeds. Sorensen from what I have seen looks class, unflappable, strong in the tackle, mobile, has match awareness, decent pace and is a decent age. I’m looking forward to seeing what he can do in midfield at the weekend. -
Hugil haters- Where you at?
Jersey Canary replied to cambridgeshire canary's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
It was Hugill’s best performance so far and looks encouraging. I still worry about his footwork/ball control but he may have enough attributes not to worry too much if Pukki’s injured. -

It’s a good job we’re getting promoted then at least we’ll keep hold of him for another 18 months. 😉 -

Is the new LB not available? -
That might be a good idea as Onel can then play for Boro against our rivals and help take points off them. We have the new LB who can also play Left Wing so it may be a case that as Onel hasn’t played this season he is not likely to regain his fitness with Norwich this season so why not send him out on loan?

Cantwell's contract
Jersey Canary replied to TeemuVanBasten's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Cantwell is under 23 so we’ll get a fee for him whether he extends or not I think. -
Soccer Saturday Paul Merson
Jersey Canary replied to pearsos's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Agreed. One thing I found interesting was the complete u turn on Merson’s thoughts. At one point Merse was saying we were head and shoulders better than Cardiff and then half an hour later he’s questioning our promotion credentials. He’s done that before on previous games. However, if I was Farke I would use Merson’s comments as motivation to finish the season on record points total. -
I like Chris Sutton, very honest, valid points and he’s quite witty.

Hugill's (lack of) movement
Jersey Canary replied to Petriix's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Hugill did better today but his first touch is awful in a lot of cases. He’s better, moving in the right direction yes, is there more to come from him yes I hope so. -
Had two assists today for QotS.

Anyone having ifollow trouble?
Jersey Canary replied to canarydan23's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
You need to delete the cookies on your computer before going into the site and that rectifies the problem I found. -
Fair play, Cantwell played well today. His decision making was spot on.
-
Sometime it might be worth getting a player like him in so Swansea don’t get him as well. 😉

Available on loan apparently. He’d be ideal for the Stiepermann role and he scored goals. Sounds ideal to me. What do you think?

IS IT TIME FOR A COVID BREAK?
Jersey Canary replied to pearsos's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
No, don’t stop, keep playing for as long as we can. The vaccine is nearing for all. The more games we play (and we stay top) the better chance we have of going up on a PPG basis. If we stop now and don’t restart the league might just start again and void the season. The mental well-being of so many people relies on stimulation and something to look forward to. -
Cardiff predictions
Jersey Canary replied to Midlands Yellow's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
I think they are without Kiefer Moore and Morrison the CB for our game. Due to their aerial ability they are the most likely to cause us problems and without them we have a better chance of a result. I’m going for 2-1 to Norwich. Pukki and Cantwell (seeing as I’ve been critical of is play on the message board he’ll score! Lol). -
Why would I want to do that? I’ve been quite balanced in my views. I’d like Cantwell to succeed ultimately and he’s got quite a way to go to be regarded a decent PL player.

What a strange post. I haven’t seen any posts in a personal level about Cantwell. I haven’t commented on anything other than his footballing ability. It seems like another post of anyone who disagrees with you that you try and shut them down. Ultimately there is nothing wrong in discussing Cantwell, his progress, his shortcomings and where he could do better and that’s the same for any of the players.

I’m sure Kenny has had his threads over the last couple of years. Hugill more recently. Rupp last season. Krul had his detractors 2 seasons ago. There is no harm in having an opinion. We are Norwich fans ultimately and nothing would please me more to see Cantwell progress in his game. Just like it pleased me that Krul regained the form he had a Newcastle, Rupp looks decent in his proper position. Hugill the jury is still out for me. It may be a case of square peg in round hole. Idah, I’m not convinced so far. I think he needs a loan in Div 1. As for Kenny, I think there are better options than him in midfield although he has become more effective in the last few games which is progress and should be applauded. Cantwell needs to keep learning and improving and maybe he’ll get his PL transfer but at present as I said before he flatters to deceive. IMO.

The backlog of games may well play into our hands by the end of the season. 🤞

I don’t see Buendia going with only a few months left in the season, COVID, babies etc. I think he’s got too much in his plate (along with a promotion push with Norwich). But I can see him leaving in the summer unfortunately. Hopefully the fans can give him a good send off as he’ll be remembered as a top top player who left us in years to come.

Exactly.

Or you’re not liking a differing point of view? Emi made mistakes as well but also created lots from his work rate. Robbing Otimemdi at Man City springs to mind. Emi is very good at sticking a back leg out and winning the ball with his tenaciousness.
