  1. chances are we will get stuffed. But then thats to be expected. If Mddlesbro let in 5 so can anyone Arsenal are class lets just enjoy it! Then back to business and some points
  2. Green 8 Helveg 7 Fleming 6 Charlton 8 Drury 7 Jonson 5 Francis 9 Holt 5 Bentley 6 Hucks 7 Svensson 3 McVeigh 8 McKenzie 7 (But should have had longer to push it up higher) Doherty 7
  3. yeah so do I. Manu were not at full strength but Newcastle will. We could get a thumping Wednesday... ...but miracles do happen!!
  4. Own up then - which of you who protested so loudly about Doherty have ended up with egg on yer faces? He did so well and made us realise what Sven is currently lacking. An astute buy from Worthy- one who could really blossom with confidence and support. Dont say I didn''t tell you Bring it on Newcastle.... (Said slightly tentatively)
  5. too right! Holt cannot pass at this level for toffee. Sad to say but he looked hopeless today. Commitment & fitness = 100 % skill lacking at this level
  6. no reason to say this but my gut feeling is that Doc will make us all eat our words. Worthy is no fool, Doc is not as bad as he is painted, with enthusiasm, a frssh start and confidence he might just be a new creation in waiting. Just look at how Ekoku and Sheron blossomed on leaving us!!!!
  7. because if he did we would lose him to a big club- Hucks would then feel unsettled, languish in reserves and no none would benefit?? Or maybe I should have more faith in Norwich being able to keep high profile players!!?
  8. there is a pub in sheringham just past the fire station that did me proud when visiting my parents last year. A good group of Norwich supporters all very freindly and a big screen.
  9. I was thrilled to see Norwich featured on Football focus Worthy interviewed well and spoke good sense.... ...but then the pundits completely discredited and laughed at our chances. It was enough to make the blood boil. No respect whatsoever. I really want to watch them eat big slices of humble pie. Come on Norwich stick it to em.
  10. A lot of people on this board are getting narked off cos Norwich are being given no respect and then claim Palace have nothing to offer!! Lets be fair and accept that we are both teams who could surprise. I do not think Saturday will be as easy as many of you think. They will be up for it as much as us and we won''t have gelled yet. We love Norwich, we want to win but lets treat similar clubs with some dignity.
  11. Want to sign Bentley!!! Sorry but let''s be realistic Wenger knows he is top top top Arsenal are top top top We should be thankful he has chosen to be with us this year and wish him the very best when he is picking up Champions League medals with the big boys in years to come Unless we become a big five club?!!!?? (Which we wont in the next couple of years - our best hope is to be a Bolton, Chartlon, Birmingham - established Prem side)
  12. Fret not my green and yellow chums. It was always so and always will be. People never respect us enough- but at their peril be it. Even in 1992 when we were top at Christmas and playing in Europe the press reported as though we were a charming side from the Ryman league. We just have to enjoy putting egg on thier faces.....
  13. rumour has it it could be a rumour or may even be true.
  14. I also wonder whther a cup run would take our eye off prem survival?! I know what I would choose
  15. And Chris Sutton was working on the till-honest
  16. I predict Rivers to have a stormer ths season. He showed at the start of last that he can play good football, he then lost confidence and some fans really got on his back. (sometimes a little harshly I felt) Ok he was lazy but his talent was still evident. Perhaps he needed encouragment not criticism. With confidence and a smaller club he could just have found his niche. As for Iwan- he is making me look out for the Gillingham results. With all our panic to find a strong forward - you wonder if we ditched the big man a season too early!!
  17. heart says 3-0 Norwich but head says a hard dog fight and 1-1 Sorry but the first game is not a good time to be at home against weak opposition. It is the time to be away at the big boys and shock em before they are warm. Still here''s hoping! If we do lose can you imagine how quickly we will be automatically disounted for the whole year? My guess is that the loser of this one becomes the Match of the Day ''joke'' team
  18. Does anyone have any sugar to send to the Leicester vineyards??? It would seem their grapes have turned sour!!! Get a life
  19. Sorry to read of your loss. What is your brother''s name? If you let me know I could light a candle for him and say prays for him and your fmaily at mass. Obviously that is if you wanted me too. Also if you want your repsonse to be private, I can give you my private email address .
  20. yes but will we have a stupid name. Merseyside Blue springs to mind as an example of PES weakness!!! East Anglia Green or something rubbish. Come on PES get the licence and wooden commentary sorted and we will all die happy
  21. last year I took some school kids on a tour of CR!! Brilliant, we met Gunny who was a top chap and my hero when I was a kid. I could barely speak.....! We sat in the changing rooms and raced on the pitch. It was a fantastic day and the cub were amazing. Though I was happier than all the kids put together I reckon!!
  22. We have all been getting otpimistic and excited at the new signings. But let us not forget it is going to be VERY difficult. The step up is enormous and we are th minnows. I say this so we do not grow dispondant if we leak goals and struggle. Remain happy, cheer loudly and see what happens!!! Negative comments are all to easy to appear if and when we start losing. The spirit of last season must be maintained.
  23. great to hear that we are shaping up well. However I do wish we could find that striker. The more I think about it the more the season seems to hingew on it. We now have a magnificent squad for the size of club....but we need an out and out goal scorer to survive. That way the pressure is off Hcks etc who can setlle down to their usual game
