  1. Some of the PNE forums and websites are posting that they have put a bid in for Hucks.
  2. Has the goalkeeping coach been hexed? I see we have worked our way through another one after only two days.
  3. I heard one of the teams was Doncaster Rovers so more like £20K
  4. http://www.thelancasterandmorecambecitizen.co.uk/sport/kendallancsports/display.var.1940493.0.lewis_set_for_posh_switch.php Does seem as though this might happen. £400,000 isn''t bad as long as we get some sign on clauses in
  5. It seems other clubs have a similar system in place Aberdeen - http://www.fundadon.co.uk/about.aspx QPR - http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/main.jhtml?xml=/sport/2002/02/03/sfgqpr04.xml Swindon - http://www.truststfc.co.uk/RAF_main.php Brentford - http://www.fightingchance.org.uk/ Bournemouth - http://www.playershare.co.uk/info/article16.html Pity this wasn''t set up earlier, would have been a better place for the Turners 2 million to go.
  6. I am unable to attend many games and hence only financially support Norwich by new buying kits and the occasional purchase from the shop. Therefore, I think this is a great idea, especially for those of us who live away. I believe a fan transfer kitty is the way forward for many clubs (those without sugar daddies) and  in 5-10 years time will become common place. Bournemouth did something a few years back where fans sponsored the purchase and salary of a player. I suggest we set the wheels in motion see where we get.
  7. List of players out of contract in the summer, who should be kept and who let go? Darren Huckerby - keep Gary Doherty - keep Dion Dublin - prob retire Mark Fotheringham - keep Ian Murray - go Paul Gallacher - go Ryan Jarvis - go Rossi Jarvis - keep Robert Eagle - keep Bally Smart - keep Andrew Cave-Brown - keep Matthew Halliday - keep
  8. Based on past BCFC history (when it come to getting every penny out of a deal). Does anyone else think the NCFC to BCFC conversation went something like this; NCFC - Can we extend the loan? BCFC - Of course you can - that will be another £200K please We then decide not to extend and save this loan money and his wages and put it towards buying him in the window? May just be wishful thinking
  9. Apparently 11 players out of contract in the summer, the only ones I have seen named are Hucks, Doc and Foz - Who are the other 8 any ideas? I presume the eight includes a few fringe/young players
  10. I work in construction and 6 years ago I saw Coventry''s original plans, which included a movable end stand that opened up (bit like Tracey Island) and the ability to take the pitch out into the car park behind. Imagine the debt they would be in if they had gone for that option?
  11. Nail a massive screen to the side of the ugly corner hotel and just show great norwich goals. And a load of cheerleaders
  12. It has begun, just seen Lee Martin is out of tomorrow nights game
  13. Probably used the last of the transfer pot to pay him off.
  14. We are turning into the New Bradford, ex Prem team sinking like a stone.
  15. We could all do with a bit of cheering up on the NCFC front. Have a read on the match report for the last MK Dons game in relation to our very own Bally Smart. http://www.mkdons.premiumtv.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10420~1131624,00.html Doesn''t sound like to sort of footy we have been blessed with recently. Good points are 42 mins and 73 mins and 82 mins
  16. I have always thought Green was a brilliant shot stopper but always worried about his two steps forward two steps back approach to crosses/corners etc. I for one would pick other over Green due to this weakness.
  17. Bewteen 1992 and 2005, 536 managers were fired in all four division and the win % of the manager was between 30% and 36% with an average of 34%. Ignoring cup games I make Grant record to be 45 games and 15 wins (33%). As suggestions are being put forward for new managers, I would also like posters to quote their win % for comparison. If you have a look at http://www.wbs.ac.uk/downloads/research/football-managers-0106.pdf (where the above info comes from) on page 13 you may be suprised by some of the win% quoted for the top 25 manager between 1992 and 2005. I for one would not have predicted some of the names on the list - Barry Fry!! A few starters to hopefully get the ball rolling Peter Taylor 482 games 199 wins 41% average (exc England) Paul Jewell - 446 games 145 wins 33% average Glen Hoddle - 504 games 192 wins 38% average (exc England) Micky Adams - 435 games 168 wins 39% average.
  18. Our main problem is not conceeding goals (6th best defence in leagure), nor scoring them (it is not as if we see 10 shots a game), it has been creating the chances in the first place. Most Champ clubs of similar squad size will have two similar players in each positon. At the moment our two creative midfield players, Smith and Fozzy are out. This leaves us with CM comprising our two battling players, not creators. I for one believe we will see a change once either Fozzy (the new and improved edition not last seasons version) or Smith come in. They will feed better supply to both the forwards and the wingers and the chances will then start to come.
  19. I agree we could do with a new CB. However, a quick look at the league shows we have the 6th best defence in the league! Had to look twice as didn''t believe it at first. Makes you wonder where we would be if the forwards had actually put a few more goals in.
