  1. I would have agreed with this two years ago. But I think in the Premier League season, Grant was one of our best players (I know, not a high bar) and last season was absolutely head and shoulders above anyone else in the league in his position. I have hope he'll prove himself a premier league quality centre halve this season and think this is good news.
  2. Chelsea fans have nothing better to do, obviously.
  3. Doing things like this with "another" plastered everywhere just seems like a waste of time.
  4. I like how the squad is shaping up, and with potentially up to 5 more additions (without anyone else leaving) still to come, I'm open minded about the nature of the squad. I'll judge in August when the season starts and give final judgement when the window closes. It's like commenting on a half finished painting. Sure, you can pass judgement in it's current state, but it seems a bit daft when there's still a lot of work to be done.
  5. It's a falsehood to suggest we just buy young for the purpose of selling on.
  6. So based on this, it could be; Norwich Leicester Villa Wolves Man City Leeds Burnley Newcastle So a 1/8 chance. Of those, who is realistically going to be interested in signing him? Norwich Wolves Burnley Newcastle I mean, it would be a shrewd signing. He could offer cover at left back and act as the winger we're missing.
  7. Leicester aren't about to loan out Patson Daka having just signed him at great cost and a lot of money. Suspect he's going to be the long term replacement for Vardy.
  8. Interesting little line from the Mirror's assistant content editor...
  9. Really?! I mean - really?! I'm not sure why Dowell is listed in there, although he can play CM, he's clearly intended for a role further up the pitch. But I wouldn't take a single person in that bottom list over those in the top list. I would take our CM from last season over the one we took into the Premier League last time. I think we are far ahead of where we were last time. Is it going to be enough to compete at PL level? Not sure yet.
  10. Thanks for that, really good to hear from someone who has first hand knowledge of him 👍
  11. Awful isn't it? I can't see us ever getting a tournament to host while every time we get given a chance we end up doing this. Despicable.
  12. The French league is in all sorts of difficulty at the moment with the collapse of their TV deal isn't it? I read on the Athletic I think that all clubs except PSG, Nice, Monaco and Troyes are really struggling and having to flog players to make up for shortfalls.
  13. I think that's a bit of a leap too far.
  14. You see this sort of comment after every England defeat. It makes me wonder why these people just do as they say they're going to do and stick to following club football. The fact of the matter is, a squad with the second lowest average age in the tournament reached the final, taking the winners to penalties. I'm quite happy with how the national side is progressing and quite enthused for it's future. I'm not Southgate's biggest fan, but I do think we have a good squad here which will only get better.
  15. Honestly, this is up there with my favourite moments as a football fan, and I can't understand why any other England fan would feel otherwise.
  16. Yep, plenty to suggest something is a foot with our maybe next favourite Norwegian. Got big shoes to fill given the popularity of the last favourite Norwegian....
  17. Well. That was a game for the ages. Superb match. Spain can feel aggrieved, but I think there was a whisker's width between them. Hoping for a more straightforward win for England tomorrow!
  18. Nope. Not an England international as he's never won a cap.
  19. They are England internationals on the basis they have England caps. You can't remove caps once given, can you? The fact of the matter is that being an international adds to the transfer value of a player. Divock Origi is an establish Belgian international, with aspirations of being called back up. That, his wage, being in the last year of his deal with Liverpool wanting to move him on for £15m-£20m makes this an absolute non-starter for Norwich, and those suggesting him in all seriousness are - I'm afraid - living in a bit of a dream world.
  20. He'd be a superb signing if we were in the Championship, IMO. Reminds me a little of David Fox.
