1. His name cropped up in January whilst he was manager of Aberdeen. Having resigned at the end of last season I''m suprised his name has not been mentioned. He seems to be relatively highly regarded after a good stint in Scotland.
2. I think some would do well to remember that Spurs had a fantastic pre-season last year, only to start the season in shocking fashion!
3.
My guess is it''s something to do with Palace. He was on trial there and maybe they offered him a deal too. In which case, whichever way he has jumped, they may want to keep it quiet until after that game to avoid embarassment. Fair enough.
Definitely the most plausible explanation I''ve heard. It''s strange becuase if we received a flat ''NO'' I can''t see why it wouldn''t have been announced (especially as they could have snuk it in with the Grant Holt arrival). Yet if we had received a ''YES'' you imagine this would only be subject to a medical etc which is generally announced too (maybe as he''s unattached they didn''t want to do this in the case that if he failed it would become public knowledge and scupper his chances at getting another club?) I''m sure it will become clear tomorrow!
4. The original post states that the Man Utd fans were ''gobbing off'' to some lads on a stag party - sounds like they got exactly what they deserved. I also personally hold West Ham (the club AND the fans) in far higher regard than I do Man Utd, who opitimise nearly everything that''s wrong about the game today.
5. I can think of few more pleasing sights than a bunch of arrogant Man Utd fans (norfolk born and bred glory hunters you suspect in this instance) getting a damn good kicking!
6. But as things are after yet another dismal away performance we can leave most away grounds and think ''crikey, at least we don''t live here''!
7. The Kings Arms is a cracking pre-match ale pub, ALL are welcome it always seems to me!
8. Another good Saturday away-day ruined!
9. We now have a healthy proportion of the first team squad made up of youth teamers progressing through the ranks, which in my opinion is excellent! I think we''d all love to see some of the lads break into the team successfully. I''ve not seen any of the youth team or reserve games but wondered if any other posters here are familiar with any of these players, and might be able to suggest what they could bring to the team (in time obviously!) and which of those may look particularly promising etc. Are we now going for an approach in which we sign them all up up and hope a couple come good? Or are they all genuinely talented players with a chance of breaking into the side? I remembered last season some posters apppeared dismayed at the youth team players that Roeder released and those that he held on to.
10. Also add to the loans list... Koroma, Grounds, Evans, Henry, Gibbs, Bates, Lupoli, Pattison (then signed Perm)
11. My rebate claim is in the post, along with a note acknowledging the gesture made by Mr Foulger but explaining that after years of incompetance at board level and another laughable managerial appointment I now find myself with absoloutely no faith in anyone at the club to use it wisely. It also covers my gambling losses from Newmarket last week!
12. Players with a point to prove, preferably those on the up trying to make a name for themselves!
13.
yeah right let''s appoint an expereinced manager like er er...ummmmm Glenn Roeder!! Bryan''s the man for the job - get behind him and stop moaning or go watch your football at Portaloo Road we don''t need you.
You''re pathetic. Glen Roeder was a terrible manager, always has been! That''s the problem! Why not appoint an experienced manager who''s been relatively successful in the past like Jim Gannon!
14. From the interviewees do you think they could have made three WORSE appointments??
15. My season ticket is going back! This is an absolute joke!!
16.
It is a no-brainer but I think deep down, we all know what is going to happen.
Yep! I really wish I didn''t totally agree with you!
17. After years of woeful appointments I''m willing to give the board one chance to make a positive step in appointing an experienced management team with a history of relative success in the lower leagues that will unite the majority of fans, and act as a clear statement of intent for the forthcoming season, along the lines of Gannon (my choice) Jewell, Holloway, Jackett, Robins etc However, if Gunn or any of his trio are appointed I will be joining the 117 and cancelling my season ticket, will anyone else?
18.
why is every one so happy about marshall leaving? im not at all. nelson is no way near up to standard and despite all the hype about rudd quite simply he is just not ready yet and we should not be gambling on him. this board is going to sell every one
And so they should - the majority are shameful shower unfit to wear the shirt
19. This would be typical of our board!! We''re concerned that they will appoint Gunny, for a number of reasons - prefering instead someone with experience and a history of relative managerial success, so they manage to appoint a manager who has enjoyed a scrap of success but seemingly done so under a cloud whilst at Northampton and Forest. Hardly something to get excited about when the club is in dire need of a positive step forward to unify and lift supporters!
20. I can really get on my soapbox about this sometimes!! This may be of interest to some of you... http://www.facebook.com/home.php#/group.php?gid=10589563922
21. I really do miss Richard Balls'' City View - another small feature mirroring the downturnb at our club!!
