1. The process of being able to communicate through debate is one of the great things that spur humanity. It both reflects and enhances our progression as a species.
2. Firstly I thought it wasn''t deliberate but in the replay it was clear that he knew exactly where Vaughn was and he was very sly in making it look unintentional. Time after time we are being outfoxed at this level through gamesmanship (West Brom won today by using these tactics a number of times) and we need to wise up and employ similar tactics if we want to survive here- although this particular incident has no place in the game and there should be a retrospective ban just to send that very message. However, it may be very difficult to prove that there was any intent. I am really starting to feel very cynical about this league and the obvious effect of all these ridiculous amounts of money (and quite obviously, as a by-product, corruption) being poured into it. Wish we were still in the champ.
3. Hate to be pedantic but after you say "Pedantry aside" you continue being pedantic.
4. Always thought he was a good player and was disappointed that he didn''t seem to ever hit top gear when he was here. Definately not one of the first guys you would pick to model the new kit though...
5. Actually NC, I think the point is- What is your point?
6. With the timing of this I wonder whether it had anything to do with the Ayala deal.
7. Ruddy''s positioning away from the net may have been a bit dodgy but his positioning and handling in front of goal were spot-on today.
8. Yeah, I thought we needed to be more composed on the ball and Wigan really sliced through us a few times with Rodallega, Moses and Di Santo all outclassing us at various points. But we disrupted their passing game so often and won so many key tackles. De Laet put himself in a bad position and was a bit too desparate to correct it but overall defensively we looked commited. I still think we need a spark up front that hasn''t been added yet- unless Vaughan can come good. Morison had a good game but looks to be more of a provider than a scorer.
9. Opinions on the design of club merchandise are always going to differ but when said merchandise fails to even display the correct name of the club, you have to wonder about how it has been sanctioned to make production. If I saw that gear in a South East Asian market I would berate the vendor but feel quite proud about our profile. Seeing it in the official club store is just inexcusable.
10. A mate of a cousin of mine reckoned it will be Jan Molby.
11. Happy. I reckon that he shows bags of potential. Maybe won''t come to full fruition next season but if we managed to get him on a permanent (dependant on whether we survive the drop) he could become an important mainstay. If we can just get in an experienced old head at CB who can also do a bit of mentoring, that would help continue his development hugely I think. Has mixed with real pedigree so far though...
12. Thank you so much for the kind words Joanna. Indeed, your encouraging sentiments may well spur me to approach the board (although, I''m sure, as you say, that I shall be ''whisked'' into Carrow Road immediately) with my plans for half-price squad assembly. Yes! They should have got me in a lot earlier shouldn''t they, although I''m not sure I could spare the time to help Delia out with the catering. I''ve got a great idea; maybe you could pop on an apron and give her a hand, there''s a love.
13.
Glad that Lambert is making the decisions and not you.  Two GREAT SIGNINGS in my book!
Absolutely! As much as I''d like to think, I don''t think I could quite have pulled off what he did in the past few seasons! As for Vaughan and Morrison; well, we will see I guess. If you can say that to me at the end of next season then I will humbly (is that a word?) confer.
14. Would''ve rather seen Graham or Maynard, but fair play, they may have been priced out of our market. |Still hoping out of all the players we have been linked to that we can sign Snodgrass and De Laet.
15. I absolutely agree with CT. I think that if we continue to sign players of the pedigree of Vaughan and Morrison then it is clear that we are rebuilding a strong championship team. Can''t help thinking that we need (and have the resources) to aim a bit higher. Think that with the clear signal from the board that they will back the manager with funds that we should be trying to stay up next year. Lambert is a very good manager for milking the best out of his players and the bottom half of the prem is not at its greatest, but we need to be improving on quality in most positions. A long way to go in the rebuilding process but I hope we can see further additions that have proven quality for the league we are entering. Not sayng we need to break the bank or splash out on luxury signings; there are plenty of canny deals out there. Lambert may be struggling, as we aren''t the most attractive club to come to, and these guys may be a step lower than what he wanted, but Worthington was able to bring in some recognised talent last time. I trust the guy, but really would like to see a bit more prem pedigree. For what it''s worth I think we will do that in other positions but can''t see Vaughan having an immeditae impact and can''t see any other strikers in our squad stepping up apart from Holt, who just impresses me more every time I see him play.
16.
I hope Reading but that''s purely because I think they will be less of a threat next season and they are also Welsh. But if we were a side gunning for Europe every season I''d probably want Swansea as they play total football.
Sorry, I actually didn''t understand a word of that!
17.

probably  on a tour of the uk''s mcdonalds ''restaurants''.
Probably misunderstood Lamberts meaning of " I want Hungary players"
He''s not the only one.
18. By the way, Ron, how do you believe that Vaughan is better than Rooney? Please explain, oh Maestro, so that I may have your insight. (sorry, couldn''t resist!)
19. I realise that at this time of night, with the alcohol and illicit drugs we have all consumed that misunderstandings can very easily come about. I am not being negative because, as I said, I don''t think this is a benchmark Lambert signing. Who on earth ever said that I was comparing myself to Lambert? The guy has written himself into Norwich folklore already and he is literally above God in my opinion! I simply stated that I don''t think that James Vaughan is a benchmark Premiership signing. If he proves me wrong I will be the happiest canary on the block, and as I have previously stated, I think Lambert will bring in higher pedigree. But if you think that we should be aiming to bring in players of this calibre as solutions to countering the majority of Premiership teams, I think you maybe should be laying off a few off those uppers. Sorry, but didn''t realise that I had to prove myself as a Premiership manager to vent a few opinions. Above all, we are all Canaries, so all I can say is, crack another can and celebrate in the fact that we are in the top flight and have reasonable financial security. OTBC.
20. Looked one of the better players whenever he was on the pitch for us. Would love him back.
21. I''m getting that warm fuzzy feeling called friendship.
22.
PL has done it again ! got in there early & beat other clubs to it , very exciting signing . if more of james vaughan standard of players are on their way its going to be greaaaaaaaaaaaat !!!!!! OTBC
Who?! Derby, Leicester and Crystal Palace..? I would say that if we take this as a benchmark for signings to come we are already settling for championship football season after next. Young and hungry (and crocked) players are all very well but the only way to survive in the Prem is to sign at least a few Prem class players. This is the first signing and I am not being negative- I am fully expecting us to sign players of a higher pedigree- but FFS get real. I am sure we will find players in our existing squad who will step up. I am also sure that to play with the big boys we need some big boys on our side. Not for a minute am I saying that we need Big Name Johnnies but we DO need a higher standard of player than James Vaughan to keep us up. There are plenty of canny signings out there. I am still confident that Lambert will find a few, but to say that this is an exciting Premiership signing is way off the mark IMHO.
